The staff is INCREDIBLE. The grounds are very nice, rustic and relaxing. There are only a couple of employees but they make you feel at home. VERY IMPORTANT, HAVE A RENTAL CAR OR DRIVING SERVICE!!!! There are no activities at the hotel. The pool is nice but weather can cause it to become unusable. Bring some snacks and drinks as the restaurant is very authentic but only open after 7:30pm. We felt like we were having a home cooked meal from family members. It is slow service meal but very relaxing. Unfortunately, our travel agent did not tell us this so we were left without options for the day and no way to leave. The hotel is on a dirt road approximation 2-3 miles from the closest town, which is very small. We changed our plans as we were on our Honeymoon and wanted more options to eat and experience Italy, and one of the owners/employees drove us to the train station herself. Extremely accommodating and understanding of our situation. I would 100% recommend if you are looking to stay in a intimate and remote location and venture into the local towns at your leisure with your rental vehicle. No…
We stayed at Villa Armena with a group friends. The setting is beautiful with views of the Tuscan county side. The totally restored villa is decorated with beautiful art and furnishings but the bathrooms are huge and modern. The food was fantastic and Laura the owner is friendly and makes sure you feel welcome. A retreat from the crowded cities. Don’t miss this experience!
There may have been a great chef. and for sure they try their best, but dont think there is a Michelin chef here!!!! It comes across as a house that has sadly lost its way during covid, a wonderful location but terrible cuisine and a lack of investment in essentials like garden lighting etc.. I hope they return to their former glory. In short its more of an average B and B than an exclusive hotel.
We spent 5 comfortable nights at Villa Armena. At our arrival we were positively surprised with a very kind room upgrade: the suite was beautifully decorated in all details and very spacious. The owners were super friendly and caring. We had dinner at their restaurant two nights in a row since the food was super. The location is spot on making it easy to access Siena, Montalcino and Montepulciano. Truly recommend a long stay!
There are many structures in Italy that date back to 1100 and earlier. Some have been well restored and repurposed for the comfort of travellers who want to be surrounded by beauty, enriched with culture and treated like royalty. This is one of those properties. None of this could be possible without people: Helena, the architect of the project, her gracious husband and partner Eduardo and Laura, Eduardo's mother, a sommelier, great host and keeper of recipes I am trying to acquire. I registered for three days, stayed for five and left because I had other commitments. Location is ideal for the Brunello experience in Montalcino, the Pecorino cheese phenomenon of Pieza (look for the shop jammed with eager customers), the compelling hill town of Montepulciano and numerous other Tuscany villages, restaurants and lovely folks. Terrific value, very comfortable and well appointed interior design. The villa is in the beautiful hills just outside the pleasant town of Buonconvento.…
We stayed at this amazing family hotel - villa for 3 nights! The place is so unbelievable nice, with a nice garden, and an amazing view. The owners were more than welcome to us, make us feel like home, with a smile and useful information for the area. The room was so beautiful and clean. MANY THANKS to the housekeep from Sri lanka who helped us with the luggages. He was so sweet and nice to us! The food was so tasty, we had dinner there 3 nights in the row and tried almost everything, soo tasty.. Many thanks to Jo the chef and to the waitress she was so happy person 😍 Thank you for making our vacation so nice.. Kisses from Greece and Germany
We stayed for three nights in the villa. This is a lovely country hotel with good facilities and a restaurant. The owners were very helpful and the staff were lovely. The facilities are good, including a great swimming pool. We ate in the restaurant each night and the service, food and drinks were excellent. If you visit I would recommend a car suitable for rough roads becasue there is a two mile road to the hotel that is pretty rough.
A 5-star luxury hotel located on top of a hill with a beautiful view of the valley below. A formal hotel attitude which is different from an agriturismo's. Main drawback is the lack of maintenance of the gravel road leading up the hill to the property. Did enjoy our stay and do recommended it if you are looking for a hotel property.
The property is lovely but poorly run. The family seem to try hard but are not professional. If it was a B & B it would rate as passable but the advertising promises much more and it does not deliver. The breakfast is awful, stale croissants, hard unripe fruit, bad coffee in cracked cups. Because coffee was so bad we wanted to make tea but were told we could not have an electric jug in the room and were given a jug of hot (warm) water.. The dirt road down to the parking area is quite treacherous and needs to be taken carefully. There is no porter. You get only two pillows. The air conditioning works but is noisy. It is nice lying by the pool but not good that they have the whipper snipper going while guests are paying to relax. They need to get a good manager in there to sort out all these issues. Overall very disappointing for such a nice property.…
We stayed at the Villa Armena for two nights during a trip around Tuscany. The foundation of the Villa is amazing, it has truly charming, beautiful interior and a fantastic setting. However, current operations are seriously lacking. The drive along a gravel road seems charming, but the road is in a bad condition, actually a risk to your car unless you have an SUV. The room was beautiful but the sink and the shower were clogged and smelling badly, there was no fridge, just a sign "we're sorry", three coat hangers but none for trousers, etc. The pool is unique but the maintenance guy apparently preferred to keep the water cleaning system open so there was always a loud noise in the background, breakfast was fine, dinner was mixed, likely as they have a very young cook who is there by himself. So overall it seems like an amazing place which is just not well managed and maintained.…
