We stayed here for one night and loved it. The view from the front of the house is beautiful (see photo). The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The owner is a lovely woman also. The breakfast was amazing, she makes sure her guests don't leave hungry. Highly reccommend staying here if you are planning on staying in this area.

It is difficult to find more superlatives for this place when other reviewers have so eloquently stated the beauty and charm of this B&B. Sitting on a hill overlooking the ocean surrounded by peace and quiet, you will be lulled into a wonderful state of relaxation. We stayed two nights but I would happily have stayed longer. The host, Mary,... More

Spent 4 peaceful nights at this great little B&B located in an area which is one of only 4 places in the world designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve (NO LIGHT POLLUTION! ). My room was clean, the bed very comfortable and I woke up every morning to a beautiful view of Portmagee Channel and Valentia Island from my... More

We stayed for two nights in Portmagee, but thanks to Mary we had a very lovely welcome, a comfortable room, always a good breakfast with wonderful chats. Mary is a very caring and helpful host! The surrounding is peaceful and very close to the centre of Portmagee. Many thanks!

First, the location: Calafont enjoys one of the most beautiful spots in all Kerry: overlooking the Portmagee channel and spectacular Bray Head on Valentia island, at walking distance from pristine secluded small Reencahera beach, at walking distance from the port, the restaurants, the post office … but as quiet as can be… The breakfast lounge overlooks the afore-mentioned spectacular channel... We hated this place. It was also exceptionally difficult to find. While part of me wants to list its wrongs - from the blaring tv in the family area to the cheap, uncomfortable bedding - I just feel exhausted even thinking about it. It should be said that the owner was perfectly nice and friendly, although seemingly more concerned with... More

Lovely location, nice bathroom and delicious breakfast. Situated up on the hill with amazing views from some rooms. Walkable distance into town. Mary gave good recommendations for eating spots and places to visit. This accomodation would be improved by access to WIFI and also tea/coffee making facilities. I had to knock on the door to get the code for the... More

This guest house is a 10 minute walk from the pier in Portmagee. Mary could not be more pleasant and helpful. We were cycling and she took care of our bikes and belongings for the day while we visited Skellig Michael. I would recommend Calafont to anyone/everyone.

We stayed here for 2 nights, Mary was an excellent hostess, she fed us well at breakfast and when we arrived home from our Skellig Michael experience she did everything to ensure wet clothes were dried and we were kept warm. Very clean rooms and facilities. Thank you Mary

We loved staying with Mary in this little town. There's nothing much to the town itself, but we used it as a stopping off point when visiting Valencia Island (highly recommended!) and of course the Ring of Kerry. The bed was very comfortable, and our favorite part was the skylight in the bathroom....it was very soothing to hear the rain... More
