Meli Meli is a great spot for a young couple or a small family. The hostess, Markella, was in contact with us before our stay and helped us with an early check in. She was very sweet and friendly upon introduction, and went the extra mile to help us throughout our stay, including a late night minor medical mishap. It's clear that they run a tight ship there, every morning there were new towels placed around the pool and the rooms cleaned while we were out. The rooms themselves were small and charming, decorated in the blue and white of Santorini, and the pool area was quaint with a pretty arch surrounded by blooming flowers. This place is NOT luxurious, just simple and relaxing. Our room faced the road, so if you're a light sleeper be warned, there is some noise throughout the night. There isn't much to do within walking distance, but the best way to see the island is by scooter or car, and there is plenty of parking on the premises. What's really nice is that this place isn't located on any main drag, so one feels more as if they're alone on a Greek island and not being suffocated by tourism. The caldera is a short walk away if one feels like walking to Oia or Fira; if not they are both a short drive. If you're looking for your hotel to be the main destination, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a pleasant place to rest your head or chill by the pool after exploring the island, you've found a good spot.

Our stay at Meli Meli was exceptional. The charming, clean rooms with stunning Aegean Sea views provided a perfect retreat. Host Jackie was outstanding, offering warm welcome, attentive service, and excellent local recommendations. She also helped us in arranging transportation. The hotel's location was ideal – conveniently close to Thira's attractions yet peaceful and tranquil. The well-maintained pool area was a perfect spot to relax after exploring. Meli Meli beautifully blends comfort, beauty, and top-notch service, making it a highly recommended choice for experiencing the magic of Santorini.

We had an extremely enjoyable, relaxed and zen holiday at Meli Meli. Our room had a view of the sea and looking onto the well maintained gardens. Markella is very welcoming and helpful and gives lots of good advice for local eateries and trips to take. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable. It is lovely to have the coffee machine for morning coffees on the terrace. You can order breakfast from local bakeries too or avail of the supermarkets in Imerovigli. Meli Meli is about a 15 minute walk from Imerovigli, with some steep inclines en route. We enjoyed the daily walks. Many people who stayed in Meli Meli hired a car to get around. You can get local buses from Imerovigli to travel around the island. Imerovigli itself is beautiful with lots of breathtaking views, spectacular sunsets and Skaros rock is in the vicinity. The cliff walk from Imerovigli to Fira includes striking scenery. Imerovigli is between Fira and Oia so perfectly situated to enjoy all that Santorini has to offer in terms of Greek delights and culture. Meli Meli comes highly recommended. Markella was a wonderful host, she was incredibly warm and friendly, and extremely prompt and responsive prior to, and during, our stay. She sorted transfers for us and booked a cruise trip via the volcano, she alleviated any stress from us. We highly recommend Meli Meli, the location is ideal for walking to both Fira and Oia, and Imerovigli is stunning itself with lots of great restaurants and amenities nearby. The accommodation has everything you need and always felt clean and fresh. We can’t praise the host enough!

Effimia is very kind and communication was always smooth with her. I felt completely at home here the whole time, and especially enjoyed having espresso out by the pool. Take it slow and enjoy a peaceful and quiet room near beautiful Imerovigli perched high atop the caldera. I liked that this property was set back a bit from the caldera’s edge, however, as it helped ground me after taking in all those expansive and slightly vertigo-inducing vistas.

A hot shower with excellent water pressure was a real luxury after the long hike from Fira to Oia. There were always plenty of towels and toiletries available, and the bed was comfortable.

I didn’t rent a car but often just walked into Fira through Imerovigli. Takes a little while and is uphill but the walk is beautiful. If you’re too exhausted take a taxi. 10 eur got me into Fira in mere minutes. Effimia was always helpful in quickly calling a driver for me.

Tip: if you’re up for a little hike be sure to do the walk out to Skaros Rock and back. It is absolutely stunning there, and the site possesses very important historical and archaeological significance too.

We stayed here for 5 nights last week and had the best time. The location is perfect as it is away from the touristy places and you can get some peace and quiet, while at the same time being within a few minutes drive from all the action. We rented a car for our stay in Santorini, so it was very convenient for us. The big cities were full of people and it felt like you could not just relax. People were paying EUR400 a night and had people walk past their head as they were sunbathing in their private balcony. Not for us, hence why we really liked the location of Meli Meli.

Another major plus here is that there is private parking on site. Parking is somewhat of an issue on Santorini, so having onsite parking is invaluable.

Effimia was the most amazing host and had the best recommendations, whether it be a cafe, beach bar, or anything else really. You really feel very welcome here.

My friends and I stayed at Meli Meli for 3 nights and enjoyed our Santorini trip to the most. Jackie is extremely helpful in arranging us taxis, boat trips ect. The accommodation is close to a Carrefour so grocery shopping is easily accessible. There are also two bus stations nearby but the buses usually don't come on time so need to leave enough time for the delay.

Just like to say a huge thanks to Meli Meli staff and particularly Markella for making our stay smooth sailing :-)
We booked a week-long stay and really loved it.
Though not on the absolute cliffside, we were able to enjoy sunset views a tiny walk away and enjoy some of the restaurants around Imerovigli to do so.
Our room was kitted out as we expected with a nice coffee/espresso machine (which was above a lot of hotel standard ones). Room had great AC when you need a break from the heat. Each apartment feels spacious and has an outdoor area for sitting. We liked having lazy days by the pool and were able to hire a car for a couple of days from Sunset rental down the road.( Be careful on those roads!) Parking was a doddle at Meli Meli.
We were given a helpful walkthrough at check-in of things to do and how to get around (local walking paths too to get to the caldera walk).
I would say for the location it is good value and away from the main bustle of Fira.
All in all would definitely recommend and come back sometime soon ☺️

Great hotel, perfect location close to Imerovigli and able to walk to Oia and Thira along the beautiful cliff trail.

The host was so helpful, she organised transfer for us to and from the airport and was extremely responsive. Helping us organise buggy and quad bike hire, boat trip, restaurant and places to visit recommendations.

Would highly recommend staying here if you want to explore and see all of Santorini.

If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Santorini that will place you close enough to the action without blowing out your budget, you’ve found it!

I stayed for 5 nights and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The host, Markella, was wonderful to deal with and helpful with my random requests. The accommodation itself was comfortable, air conditioned, and provided all the necessary staples for a memorable stay. Santorini itself will give you plenty to do, and while you’re exploring, you’ll quickly realise you have access to all the best sites by car, scooter or buggie, so don’t stress over where you stay. If you’re travelling right, you’ll hopefully only use your accommodation to rest and relax between exploring and sight seeing.

I chose the buggie route to see the island, and it was super fun. Markella organised to have it delivered directly to me at Meli Meli, so I didn’t have to run around trying to find a rental company. From Meli Meli Oia is a 10 minute ride, the blue domes are a 3 minute drive, and Fira is a 7 minute drive, so you really are perfectly placed amongst a lot of the key locations.

Can’t wait to be back!
Thank you Markella, and thank you Meli Meli!
