This is by far the nicest Hotel I've ever stayed in.

It is a 5 minute drive from Imerovigli and I'm really glad we stayed here rather than actually in one of the towns as it's so peaceful where the others were a little cramped together and overlooked.

It's really easy to book the hotel's minibus which will take you into Imerovigli for free or anywhere else on the island (and bring you back) for a very reasonable fee.

The hotel was spotless, there aren't many rooms so you will have lots of space if you fancy a day at the (huge) pool. We had it to ourselves both times we used it. A member of staff brings you an ice cold bottle of water as soon as you get to the sun lounger and there is a bar next to the pool as well as an area for eating and toilets/showers/changing room.

Despite opting for what I guess is the most basic room (only a hot tub on the balcony rather than a full swimming pool!) the room was amazing. Lots of space, comfy bed, the aforementioned hot tub was great, the bathroom is beautiful and free cake brought to your room every night!

The food was really nice too, we were out and about most of the time but ate in the restaurant once and also had room service and everything was really tasty.

Breakfasts are amazing too, pick what you like from the buffet, bacon, sausage etc. plus pastries, cold meats, fruit etc and the choices change slightly each day, then when at your table you can order eggs however you like them and a variety of coffees. I can highly recommend a cappuccino and an omelette!

The staff are really friendly and those in the restaurant seem very knowledgeable and recommend wine for your meal etc.

It's amazing that in such a beautiful place like Santorini it's the hotel which I miss the most!

If we come back we will definitely stay here again! Can't fault it.

We have just finished a week at Amber Lights. Wow!

We were looking for a break away from the crazy work and life pressure. This place ticked every box. As has been said on other reviews, it is not in amongst the hustle and bustle of places like Fira but is a short ride from Imerovigli on the free bus transfer. Eddie is the resident driver and is on hand to take you wherever, always with a smile.

The rooms, restaurant and pool area are all wonderful. The air con is defo needed as it has been very very hot. The ladies in reception are so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble, from booking restaurants, to sorting transport and even arranging quad bike hire. Always with a smile and a pleasure to engage with.

The restaurant staff are all amazing too. They have dealt with the COVID situation very well. Breakfast can be had in your room or in the restaurant in a socially distanced way. All the staff are very considerate and organised wrt masks and distancing.

The rooms are fully equipped with good Wi-fi audio that you can connect your devices to. Beds are comfortable and all immaculate.

We will come here again, without doubt. We are sad to be leaving. Thank you Amber lights

We stayed here for 7 days during our honeymoon! The staff was so friendly and everything was so clean! They cleaned the rooms daily. Breakfast was buffet style and had lots of options. We were a little disappointed that the restaurant was closed but we enjoyed exploring Santorini’s local cuisines. We ordered from the takeout menu once and it was good, the bartender at the hotel bar brought us plates and utensils to use so we didn’t have to use the takeout utensils. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We booked a room with a private hot tub and we’re very happy with it as the temperature got colder in the evenings! Our terrace had a wonderful view of the sunrise each morning. We rented a car for the week which we would highly recommend when visiting Santorini! I saw some reviews mention that the location wasn’t good, but honestly as we drove around and visited the towns in Santorini, we were grateful for the peace, quiet and privacy that we had from our terrace. It was nice to escape the crowds and to not have strangers have access to or a full view of our terrace like they do in Oia or Fira. Driving was an adventure for the first day or so but then we got the hang of it and hardly even needed a gps to get around the island. Lola was able to recommend a wonderful wine tour with Santorini Wine Stories and a dinner cruise with Dream Cruises Greece. We enjoyed both but the wine tour was our favorite activity of the whole trip! Lola and Maria were great at booking dinner reservations for us when we asked and we always got a great table when we did that! We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon!

This is my first report I have ever done in almost 50 years, but when you feel fooled well I could not resist. Don’t get me wrong the place is brand new and clean a very nice hotel in a quite place at least this is what they claim and many guests reported... but here is the truth from a 50 years old person who is used to spend time in nice hotels and who knows what can make the difference in your staying:
This is not a luxury hotel and the service from a 360 point of view is far away from the excellence;
No service by the pool; if you have any need or to order something there is nobody around the main pool so either you have to go to the bar quite far away from the pool or calling with your mobile the reception!
Breakfast: you want a simple cappuccino? Not from a very old fake coffee machine? You have to pay for it and do not ask for any light milk or soya milk or whatever no availability;
Restaurant: do not expect a proper nice service; when you arrive at the restaurant no tables under the shadow no sun umbrellas and no tables already prepared for the meal.... once again details make the difference; another funny thing is that at 22.00 you have to leave the restaurant in any case so if you want to enjoy the sunset which is at 20.30 from the opposite side of the island and then come back for a dinner on the hotel you can not make it.
Wifi; not working properly at all
I paid almost 400 euro per night for a suite with private pool and seaview; unfortunately the room number 118 (and many others on the same side of the hotels) look directly to an abandon car a old building and many electrical cables; I asked to the reception to check for a room change and guess what? Nobody gave us any feedback completely ignoring my complain;
The room I booked should have been 70 square meters+ the external patio and pool; in reality the room is not even the half and the bathroom is not more than 4 square meters;
The spa: the nice spa is a small room and again without any permanent worker so if you want any threatment you have to book it one day in advance!
Quite hotel? We could not manage to sleep due to the constant noice coming from the above room having pools making noice constantly and what you have to consider is that not less than 100 flights from the closer airport pass exactly above the hotel day and night;
To make it shorter: do not expect any luxury hotel here or any acceptable service it looks like a beautiful empty cathedral where you never feel someone really care of you.

We were delightfully surprised by every aspect of this beautiful boutique hotel with stunning views (not caldera) in Santorini . Like many hotels in Santorini the suites cascade down the mountain so it involves lots of steps and if they are a problem for you ,this might not be the place for you.

having said that we were blown away but the pristine, stylish beauty of our studio suite with its vaulted ceilings and gorgeously appointed bathroom and spacious jacuzzi. Bed was comfortable albeit a bit firm and living area spacious .
We were delighted with staff who were incredibly warm, helpful and even when we had a mishap with our wifi they were all over it with maintenance to fix it.
Breakfasts were a bit ordinary, served buffet style, but all in all everything seemed brand new and immaculate.

A beautifully decorated hotel, with comfortable, spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The staff is friendly, polite and attentive!!!! The breakfast and restaurant are also excellent as you would expect from such a place. Most of the rooms have their own private pools, but there is also a beautiful large shared pool that is immaculately clean and very quiet. We visited in July without the children and we had such an amazing time, that decided to revisit in August for ten days with the kids!!!

We had a queen bed, huge room (included small fridge), seating area, small table area and a balcony with a hot tub (view of sea and pool). The reception team ( Olga and Anastasios ) could not do enough to make sure your stay was amazing! They even inquired how my MIL was each evening after our adventures! Lilias (aka: Sperfect) was great at the beautiful pool and at the restaurant. He asked if we would like him to order our dinner (his favorite Greek foods on the menu) on our last evening. It was delicious and he was so anxious to make sure we enjoyed it. Helen at breakfast was a delight each and every morning. She remembered our preferences after the first day and while never presuming that is what we would want, she was prepared to get them ready! Our flight very early on our last day and the breakfast buffet was not open, so she prepared a tray that we could put in the fridge the night before! Overall the villas (21 of them) are beautiful and to be honest, some of the other guests who attended my nieces wedding, paid much more and their rooms/views/locations were not near as nice. The only disadvantage was the cab fares everywhere. The driver associated with the hotel was great, but we did spend a lot on cab fares that week!

Our room was beautiful and very bright to the style of Santorini, and our private terrace was so spacious we could just decide to stay there gladly enjoying our own jacuzzi and pool. Breakfast was delicious, the Open Air Cinema at the hotel is a lovely idea, and the staff was very servicial and kind, they gave us breakfast ready to eat in our fridge as we had an early flight next morning. I recommend this hotel completely :)

Our agent recommended this hotel and it was stunning. Maria gave us a warm welcome, Prosecco and a tour of the hotel. We had the two bedroom villa with a whirlpool and in my opinion the sunrise from our balcony was far more impressive than the sunset from the caldera, unfortunately, I was the only one awake at 6am to enjoy it.

The reason this hotel didn’t quite work for us was the location. The hotel has no shuttle bus service so you are relying on taxis to take you everywhere and when there are 4 of you, it can get very expensive! They charge a flat fee for 2 people and then an extra €5pp - so a night out in Oia cost us €80 return and to Fira €60 return, we didn’t even make it to Megalochori or Akrotiri. You are also waiting for others who are sharing the same taxi. One of the taxi drivers got really angry with us and was shouting, I think because the pick up point was not clear, I’m still not sure.

Imerovigli is the nearest town to the hotel, where you will find a mini marts, bars/ restaurants and the most incredible views! We did a half day Santorini highlights tour which was great, Pyrgos and a visit to the winery were firm favourites and a sunset cruise which was the highlight of our entire trip.

We had a few lunch/dinner meals at the hotel and they were all great, prepared well and delicious. The pool area is beautiful and because we had a late flight home we were able to relax by the pool and for the 6 hours we had to wait we were very comfortable.

Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Amber light Villas but it would have been even better if we didn’t have to fork out large sums of money on top of our flights and accommodation everyday to visit places. The hotel should really consider a free shuttle bus service to at least Fira, where you can access buses and tours to see the rest of the island.

We are still here our last night...sad. We did not know what to expect as a little out of the way and last minute booking. How lucky were we!! If it’s available, come, you will not regret it.
Eddie the resident driver always on hand and so lovely with advice and pointing us in the right direction. The girls at reception are so accommodating, nothing is to much trouble: ask them and they can book, call, arrange and help. Thank you so much. Tomas and restaurant staff are first class and nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast a delight in you suite, we have a new love for Greek yoghurt.
The rooms are a delight and so clean and comfortable thank you to the cleaning staff, she was great,didn’t speak English we didn’t speak Greek but she was amazing 👍🏻. We cannot speak more highly of amber light it would be impossible not to enjoy your stay. We do hope you have the same wonderful experience that we have had.
Lastly there COVID precautions are first rate well done for your infection control procedures.

No idea, we visited in May. Worth emailing the hotel, also, ask if the restaurant is open yet for lunch and dinner as it wasn’t when we went, which was disappointing as we incurred more cost getting taxis to restaurants.

Taxis are a phone call away. It's a small island your longest drive is 30 minutes. Amber has a great location, 10 minutes to the nearest village in the middle. You can rent a qaud or small car it will be the best option
