We stayed 3 nights at Caldera's Memories in August. At first we were concerned about the location as the hotel is located a little up from Imerovigli but in the end it proved to be a peaceful respite from the hordes of tourists on the island. The hotel is also elevated from the busy walking path so there is more privacy than many other hotels on the route. The view is simply stunning and the room was fabulous. The daily breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. We were able to get taxis from Fira after dinner. The bus at night is hopeless!

Stayed here 3 night in the honeymoon suite. They must have updated the rooms since 2017 and the bad reviews I read. Our room was clean, bright and spacious. We had a walk in glass shower and had complimentary fresh fruit and a bottle of wine upon arrival. We didn't know breakfast was included but it was ALOT of food and changed daily. Fruit, juice, yogurt, meats, cheese,bread---all served in the pool area by a very sweet girl named Calliope (Kelly). The two guys we interacted at the front desk were equally pleasant and always helpful--Lucas and ugghh I can't remember the name of the guy at night! They will help you with transportation needs and offer suggestion in the area. The pool area is nice but the water was too cold for us. It would be nice if they had a few options of drinks and snacks to buy since there is no close store to walk to quickly. The sun set right in front of us no no need to fight the crowds in Oia. We walked to Oia and Fira on the path in front of the hotel. We also took the city bus to different parts of the island (takes about 20 mins) and it was easy to do. We visited the beach of Perissa and it was ok---not a lot there other than restaurants on the beach. Highly recommend Akrotiri- if ancient ruins 4000 years old is interesting to you. If you are looking for a quiet intimate setting away from the hussle and bustle of tourists but close enough at the same time...I highly recommend this place. I would have given 5 stars if there had been drinks and snacks to purchase if you were sitting by the pool.

This should be a 4-star hotel. It was completely renovated in 2018. Everything is up to date and very clean. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place, away from the crowd but also near all major Santorini attractions, this is IT. The hotel has amazing views of the caldera, sunset view, and sunrise view too. It's located on the hiking path between Fira and Oia but 12 feet above the path with privacy. Breakfast is full service with fixed menu but different every day. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. It's one of very few hotels that we feel at home. We definitely will choose Caldera's Memories again.

We stayed here for our honeymoon for 2 nights thinking this hotel would be the perfect last stop before returning home. The view is amazing and the pool is a good layout with plenty of pool chairs which was a plus. The rooms are clean and spacious. Unfortunately we weren’t off to a great start when the hotel arranged their own transfer for us through a third party, we were dumped on the side of the road by our initial driver who told us he had to pick someone else up so another driver picked us up and 5x bags in a tiny hatchback.. not a good first impression and for 30 euros not acceptable. When we arrived there was no mention of our honeymoon (my husband had previously advised the hotel prior) but we were informed it was 50 euros to use their jacuzzi which we weren’t actually ever shown. The pool area is extremely quiet, no music so basically everyone can hear your conversation. There are no drinks/even snacks available around the pool to purchase, you need to walk uphill to the town (not ideal and pretty inconvenient given lots of restaurants in the town only open for sunset). Upon leaving we asked if we could use their facilities to shower before our flight home, to our surprise this was actually an outdoor shower in front of the pool. To top it all off, we organised our own transfer for the airport given the hotels transfer was a disaster, our driver was late so afraid he wasn’t coming for us we requested the hotel to arrange a taxi, for some reason this was not possible and they would only organise a transfer through the same company. Our driver showed up 45 seconds later and upon trying to cancel the transfer the hotel demanded we pay them in cash for the transfer, totally unprofessional and inflexible. We just came from Mykonos so we understand accomodation is expensive in Greece but unfortunately this one doesn’t meet the mark given the price they charge per night.

Dear Rachel, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel in Trip Advisor. Regards the arrangement of your transfer we would like to inform you that the cooperated company decided to transport you via its private service without charging you the equivalent price because they wanted you to arrive on time to our hotel. Despite you booked the basic transfer we expected that you would be satisfied from the private transfer of our partners. In preference to the peace, the quiet and the privacy we would like to inform you that this is the reason that the guests are booking a hotel on the cliff-side of caldera and this is the highlight of our suites. About the bar as you can see in the site of the hotel it is clear that there is not in our facilities. Also our hotel is pretty close (10 minutes by car 20 by bus) to the capital Fira and over there you can find the night clubs and bars of the island. But you should know that Santorini contrary to Mykonos is not famous for its night life in but for the chilling and relaxing hotels on the cliffside of caldera. About the shower which is on the side of the pool although it is an outdoor one it has walls and this is why nobody mentioned and complained before because there is no roof and it makes it less hot during the summer season. To clarify the situation with your departure transfer, although you booked a transfer on your own and it was late, we manage to find a transfer on the spot for you. When both arrived in our hotel you refused to pay the transfer we called for you and you started swearing and threatening the staff with a bad review outside the reception in front of other guests. About the taxi we called twice in front of you and it was busy and only when we took your permission we booked a transfer with our partners. We are trying to do our best for our guests but we expect equivalent behavior from our guests. Kind regards Manager Kiriaki Dakoutrou
