The Hotel "Afroessa." Afroessa hotel praises romance. Our guests experience the exceptional view from our "old canavas" rooms, set atop Santorini's hillside. The original site of a winery built in 1700, it was renovated in 1998 on its existing foundation. Our ten studios, each with its own unique archway are built on five levels, with their own magical view of the Caldera. Each studio is individually decorated giving each its own distinct character, yet maintaining the traditional style. The beds are built into the foundations and the furnishings and decorations chosen so as to enhance the warm and romantic feelings created by the surroundings. The priceless moments which you will experience during the enchanting sunsets from your balconies and the relaxing pool bar, with chill-out music will forever remain in your memories, reminding you of the serene calm and magic of Afroessa.

This is a gem, the view is perfect and away from the crowd. It’s easy enough to find and get to and few minutes away from the bus stop. The breakfast is great with good portion size. Fruits and pastry are fresh and freshly baked. The place is clean and immaculate

Afroessa truly felt like paradise to me. Peacefully tugged away - yet in the middle of charming Imerovigli. Best hosts, great breakfast, beautiful pool and absolutely breathtaking caldera & sunset views! I loved every moment - thank you!

Perfect location for exploring Santorini. Away from the hustle and bustle of Fira, but an easy walk to there if needed. The hotel is right on the Fira to Oia hike path, and Skaros Rock was another great walk to do nearby. Lovely, friendly staff and Edi looked after us very well, with lots of good suggestions for activities and restaurants. You won't need a car if staying here, but we got car parking easily just 2 mins away. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. We stayed in the small room by the pool, the hotel is not necessarily the most up-to-date or luxurious, but for us was the perfect combination of location, comfort and views.

We spent part of our honeymoon here and the experience was more than we expected. Beautiful location right in the middle of the island and a breath taking view of the sunset and the caldera. The services provided were also excellent.

We stayed in Akritiri and Oia/Finikia, but the views from this hotel are simply the most beautiful. It's high up so you can see the sunset on the horizon from your terrace. We were in room 10 which is great as it's overlooking the pool and sea but nobody walks by your door. The terrace is small but perfectly fine. The room is rustic and at first I was surprised by this - not many plugs, no bathrobes, no drawer space, no headboard on the bed, no welcome water, fruit, wine, no luxuries and you have to remember to turn on the hot water 15 mins before you need it - but I became increasingly relaxed and charmed by the place. We had a car - parking isn't easy to find (5 mins walk away, lots of steps - as is the case all over Santorini) but then we just walked everywhere - 20 mins to the Vulcan, Buddha Bar, another 5 mins or so into Thira. I prefer Imerovigli - quieter, more laid back chic.

The location of Afroessa Hotel is supreme. Afroessa is walking distance to local bakeries, grocery, restaurants, and more. Also, the Hotel is only a 25 minute walk to Firostefani and Fira (two very popular Santorini areas with tons of night life, food spots, and entertainment). The walk is paved with many pedestrian walking paths. The pool area is great with sunbeds and towels provided. Upon check-in, Eddie warmly greeted us and discussed all room and hotel amenities. In fact, he went beyond and connected with us via telephone before check-in to see if we had proper transportation from Santorini port to the Hotel. This was excellent as it can be difficult to arrange transportation on the Islands. From start to finish, Eddie made our experience 10/10 at Afroessa. He was always asking us if we needed anything, etc. The Housekeepers were excellent, kind, no issues at all. Fantastic customer service at Afroessa Hotel. We were pleased with the room. It was clean, with all the amenities you need. I would mention that the room can be upgraded or renovated to be more modern or more luxurious. Also would recommend some attention to the hot water and plumbing; as at times the hot water would run out. Despite this, this was not something that tampered our trip. At the end of the day, Eddie, the pool area, the service staff, and location made it a beautiful Santorini Holiday. We would recommend this location to our family and friends. Thank you Eddie and Team for such a beautiful exprience! -Talia & Christian

This hotel was just wow! We booked a honeymoon suite which was actually more private than I expected. No one to the right of us, and the room next to us did not have a pool so they could not see onto our deck, there was no one above us either. It was the perfect seclusion to see the unobstructed sunset. The views were to die for. The hotel staff, Dionis, Edi, and Greta were super, and what made the hotel an amazing place! Our room itself was newly renovated and very clean.

Hotel staff and the views are the only reasons why I’m even giving this a star. The manager, Elena, is the worst manager I’ve ever encountered. Our flights were delayed a day and we exchanged emails to keep our prepaid upgraded rooms with private pools. When we arrived, she had given our rooms away and downgraded us. After discussing on the phone, she promised to refund us and now has completed ignored all emails and WhatsApp messages. I would not stay here ever again given how Elena has managed the place. She made our honeymoon extremely stressful and frustrating.

Traveling in the time of Covid is a challenge and traveling with a cane in this era is a bit much. Our charming host Eddie, was able to give us an easier access room. We had the best, newest room but it was 200 steps down. The hotel is built into the rock wall and our first room was actually under the swimming pool! The breakfast Eddie prepares is huge and delicious. He’s also our bartender! That’s what I call full service!

Eddie was our welcoming host. He was very accommodating and fun to spend time with in the spacious lounge, where he is both bartender and breakfast cook. Our room set at the edge of the sea with panoramic views of Santorini. A traditional, quaint Greek restaurant is only a short walk from the hotel, where we returned for dinner each night.
