Certificate of Excellence
The Hotel "Afroessa." Afroessa hotel praises romance. Our guests experience the exceptional view from our "old canavas" rooms, set atop Santorini's hillside. The original site of a winery built in 1700, it was renovated in 1998 on its existing foundation. Our ten studios, each with its own unique archway are built on five levels, with their own magical view of the Caldera. Each studio is individually decorated giving each its own distinct character, yet maintaining the traditional style. The beds are built into the foundations and the furnishings and decorations chosen so as to enhance the warm and romantic feelings created by the surroundings. The priceless moments which you will experience during the enchanting sunsets from your balconies and the relaxing pool bar, with chill-out music will forever remain in your memories, reminding you of the serene calm and magic of Afroessa.

Fantastic location, excellent room, great staff. Mary especially was extremely helpful and communicative and kind. We were in the smallest studio by the pool at the beginning of low season and would definitely stay there again. The doors and windows can be opened in such a way

We chose to stay in Imerovigli to keep away from crowded places such a Fira and Oia. The room we had (number 4) was very nice with midway down to the pool. Ioanna and Mary were fantastic, very helpful and make everything possible for you to enjoy your stay. The rest of the staff

My wife and I spent a week here recently and were delighted with every aspect of our stay. We stayed in a Deluxe Studio (Room 11) with a private balcony and stupendous, uninterrupted views across the Caldera and of the sunset - photos attached. Why fight for a space to view the

This hotel is beautiful! The staff is amazing and very responsive to all concerns. It is outside Thera, but the walk along a beautiful path overlooking the caldera is amazing! Plus, in the morning and evening it is quit and peaceful, while hotels in Thera have a ton of foot

What’s a Caldera view?
A large volcanic crater, especially one formed by a major eruption leading to the collapse of the mouth of the volcano. This view of Caldera could be seen without any obstruction from Hotel Afroessa and the South Aegean Sea. What you see is just breathtaking splendid view.

Hi - Staying at the Afroessa Hotel is spectacular and beautiful. Breakfast is Not included in the price but is available every day for a reasonable cost. Also next door there is a place to purchase breakfast with an incredible view over the caldera. Also it is a short walk to the local shops or even to Thira for variety. One day we walked to Oia which was amazing and stopped along the way for breakfast.

If you'd like an early breakfast then ask the night before or when you check in. Otherwise you can arrange it daily by ringing from your room in the morning.

"In high season, I would suggest having a room on the fourth level down or lower. You are then not on the footpath."
"Numbers of rooms went from low to high, street adjacent to pool adjacent. I was not able to choose a room and loved where I wound up."
"rooms on the lower level (11 and 12) are more quiet and private"
"Rooms are in separate levels of the caldera but all have the same amazing view and great balconies."
"Bottom rooms below the walk path and even better if you select below the pool."
