This review is long overdue! My Husband and i spent 4 days here on our honeymoon in June 2022. There is literally not a single negative thing we could say about our time spent at Anastasis - the hospitality was out of this world, the food and drinks were incredible and the room we had was the nicest room we've ever stayed in. I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone who will listen. We were so well looked after during our stay - i was unwell on our last day and everyone worked around the clock to make sure i was looked after, they even cooked me special meals to soothe my stomach and went to the chemist for me to get pain meds. If we ever get the chance to get back to Santorini we know we know exactly where we'll be staying! Thank you team Anastasis for the holiday of a lifetime, we still look back on photos from our time there and can't get over how much we enjoyed it.…
After much research and reading reviews my husband booked Anastasis Apartments as a surprise trip for my 40th birthday. He contacted the hotel via email and the communication back from the team was excellent and as it was a special birthday he booked the 'Anastasis villa'. The team at the hotel refer to this villa as 'secret' because it is away from the main hotel tucked into the hillside offering uninterrupted breath taking views of the Caldera and complete privacy. On arrival day the hotel phoned my husband to say our room was ready and that they would send a car, however as we were only a 10 minute scenic walk away from we decided to walk (forgetting about the 18kg suitcase :-) )... In terms of location, the hotel is situated down the hill from the main part of Imerovigli, about a 10 - 15 minute walk (across some uneven ground) on the main pathway towards Oia. The hotel pool and rooms are elevated from the main path (as its situated on the main path leading towards Oia) and they knew we were on our way so came out to greet us and take our suitcase. We were shown through to the Reception area where we were welcomed by the friendly Despina (Hotel Manager) and then taken up to one of the beautiful terraces (complete with staggering views, a wall style water feature and tweeting bird in a cage), and given a bottle of water each and a fresh wipe while Myrah took us through the details of the hotel and provided lots of useful information to us. She noted down any food allergens / dislikes (as daily breakfast is a 'surprise') and also any tours / reservations / cars we had prebooked (we didn't know at the time but this was so they could phone all of the companies to ensure they knew where and when to collect us etc). She also gave us the whatsapp number and told us we must message for anything we needed at anytime as they would always help us. Once this was completed Myrah took us down to our 'secret' villa. We headed past the pool out of the main gate by the pathway and through another gate down some steps to our door. I opened the door, stepped down in to our room and remember just gasping at the sight. Firstly I noticed the huge glass window offering breathtaking views of the Caldera and opposite Island, then noticed the size of the inside. The suite comprises of a large lounge area with Chais longe, TV, Stereo player, torch and dining table with three chairs (overlooking the Caldera). There is a fully equipped kitchen with tall fridge / freezer, hob, microwave, tea & coffee making facilities, crockery and glassware. The fridge was stocked with a mixture of 500ml and 1 litre bottles of water (additional 6 pack of 1 litre water in the cupboard). The bedroom has a King size bed with full ceiling to door blackout curtains and doors leading to the terrace, and behind it, a large bathroom with toilet, his and hers sink and large walkin Rainfall shower. There is also two mirrored wardrobes, one of which has a safe and an umbrella. Leading from either the dining space or bedroom is a terrace spanning the full width of the villa with a private hot tub, 2 sun beds and a table and 2 chairs. We unpacked our bags and whilst doing so our welcome drinks were bought down to us. The hotel has a complimentary daily 'coffee break', and we sent our requests via WhatsApp, choices comprised of tea, coffee or home made lemonade and are served somewhere between 3pm & 4pm. In fact even when we did not arrive back to the hotel until close to 5pm they still messaged to see what we wanted and bought it down to us. They also provide a complimentary daily 'sunset drink' which we ordered daily (a rose wine and a red wine) which was bought down to our terrace at 8.10pm each night for us to enjoy whilst we watched the sunset. The room has a welcome folder filled with information on the hotel / the island including recommendations for restaurants and driving / walking routes. There is also a dining menu folder which you can access via a scanable QR code. On our arrival afternoon we walked up to reception and ordered a snack to be bought to our room, we ordered two Club sandwiches, one without bolied egg. That night when we were leaving to go out they called us and asked who doesn't eat bolied egg so that they didn't put it on the plate for breakfast any mornings (then asked why I didn't tell them I don't eat boiled egg as I must have only things I like).. the attention to detail was unlike any hotel I've stayed at before. The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the Caldera and also plenty of Sun loungers. There is also a room inside with large sofa, shower and toilet which guests can use on departure day). I believe the spa is currently closed but they have two private areas with hot tubs and massage couches which can be booked for massage treatments. Each night there is an unobtrusive turn down service (they wait until you have left) and the staff do a quick clean up, turn back the bedsheets, leave a 'surprise treat' and make some lovely creations out of towels. On our third night we came back to find the room litup with lanterns and tealights, scattered petals everywhere and a bottle of homemade Anastasis Licquor and two glasses... we were so taken aback (my husband even had a tear in his eye). On our last night we returned to a gift box (i wont give away anything else), such a kind gesture. The reception / main entrance to the hotel is literally right on the main road, however we never used this as we always entered from the pathway on the Caldera side. When we returned from our day of exploring the island in the car, they were there with the reception gate open ready to welcome us back in (and escort us across the road). Our breakfast was bought down to us daily at 8.40am specified by us as we are early risers (following a telephone call to check we were ready and where we would like it served) we would then head out for the day and return between 4 - 5, have 4 hours lounging on our beautiful private terrace / in our hot tub, enjoy the sunset and then walk up to one of the towns for Dinner. In the evenings the hotel provide a complimentary shuttle bus service from the hotel to Firostefani / Fira and pick ups based on a timetable which they provide and you can send a WhatsApp message requesting a space on the bus each day. We used the service to go to Firostefani twice but walked back the other nights because we liked the walk. So far we've been very fortunate to have stayed in many hotels across the world ranging from 2* to 5* but I can honestly say never experienced the service, hospitality and kind attention to detail which Despina and her team provide at this hotel. In my opinion with a level of personalised service in this much detail, it can easily feel obtrusive however Despina and the team have the perfect balance of making you feel the most important of guest and noting every detail but almost in a way that you don't notice they are there. Despina and her team really do work tirelessly and we are extremely grateful for their hospitality and kindness which made our trip to Santorini that extra special and memorable. This holiday for us was about seeing as much of the island as we could but also as having busy work / child commitments we also needed some chill time, and the hotel / room provided exactly that. …
What an absolutely fabulous visit to Santorini. This was the last stop in our Greek Isles trip. Unfortunately, we were stuck in Naxos an extra day because of wind and the ferries and the hospitality started before we arrived. The hotel was in constant communication, letting us know about ferry options. Ultimately, we arrived a day late but the 3 nights we stayed were absolutely amazing. This is a very small boutique hotel and they make you feel special. Upon arriving, we were given a quick tour of the property by the owner and taken to our room. Ground floor, right over the pool with a view of the caldera. It was stunning. If you ever want anything, all you do is call or text via WhatsApp and they are there for you. From ordering lunch, making dinner reservations, or requesting a bottle of wine, the staff was on point, friendly and amazing. The location of the hotel is great, not far from Fira. They have a shuttle at night and they will make dinner reservations and drop you off and pick you up, so it made things very easy. They are also conveniently located on the trail from Fira to Oia. One day, we hiked to Oia and one day we hiked to Fira. Just relaxing in the beautiful pool with the views - simply amazing. If we are every lucky enough to go back to Santorini, we will definitely be back. Oh, and one last thing - they make you feel SPECIAL! Like a special invitation for breakfast on the terrace overlooking the caldera, rose and local liqueur in the room after dinner and special use of the jacuzzi one night. So many people we met at the resort were returning guests and I understand why.…
Words cannot describe our experience. From the minute we arrive (airport pick up arranged by Anastasis), we were … LOOKED-AFTER. I have never experienced such care & attention. Beautiful. 100% service. Special mention to Mayra who was at our beck and call non-stop. The whole team at Anastasis were a dream. And oh, by the way, this all happened in Santorini… which is heaven on earth already !! Cannot recommend staying here enough. Did a lot of research. And so happy we chose Anastasis. 100% worth it!!!
I can’t imagine there’s a better place to stay anywhere else in the world. Santorini is beautiful, but Anastasis has the very best location and accommodations on the entire island. The sunset from Anastasis can not be beat. It was so amazing we made sure to see it from Anastasis every night we were there. Anastasis is perfectly located between Fira and Oia. We walked the path to both villages on separate days which just added to our experience there. Fira was about an hour, while Oia was about 2 hours walk. The very best thing about Anastasis though is the owner, Despina, and the staff. From the moment that we arrived until the moment we left, we were made to feel so very special. It felt like they were looking out for us all the time making sure we found great restaurants or making sure we had a ride back from the towns. Their suggestions were simply the best, and I believe it is because they want their guests to have the most amazing time while they are there. Anastasis exceeded every one of our expectations, and that is hard to do. I hope to visit Santorini again one day, and there is no where else that I would ever consider staying. While there we stayed in the Anastasis suite. I was so excited when we arrived, and the whole apartment was white, a little different than the pictures online. I really wanted the White suite, but it was already booked. The Anastasis suite is beautiful and was immaculately clean. So, I’m back to where I began. I can’t imagine there’s a better place to stay anywhere else in the world. It was private and quiet and perfect. The staff were the friendliest and most accommodating of anywhere I’ve ever been. I recommend Anastasis to everyone and just can’t imagine staying anywhere else on Santorini. Thank you Despina and staff for making our stay so special.…
it is a total experience. The service it is incredible, very high standards, for any need they are there for you. Anastasis really take care of her place and you can really feel it. The accomodation and the infinity pool are a 10, new, clean and confortable. A customized five star experience.
What an amazing stay from the ride from the airport when we were greeted by a wonderful staff to the end! We hated to leave. I cannot say enough about the lovely comfortable room, the friendly staff, delicious breakfast served on our patio each morning, the infinity pool, the welcome cocktails, complimentary sunset appetizers complete with a glass of wine over looking the most incredible views of the caldera! It was convenient to the walking path connecting Fira to Oia and the bus stop to each town was a short walk from the apartments. We also took advantage of perfect restaurant recommendations and the shuttle service to and from the restaurant 2 of the nights. The other night, we stayed in and had a fabulous dinner prepared by the in house cook. We felt so spoiled when we were there, many thanks to the gracious, attentive staff who made it all possible.…
The most personalized experience we have ever had! Every detail was thoughtful which made us feel special from start to finish! The property has amazing views, is tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean. The food was always beautiful and tasty. Welcome drinks, afternoon snacks/lemonade, sunset cocktails and a large breakfast with a nice variety every morning. The location was nice and quiet but also easy to get to Oia or Fira. We utilized the shuttle for dinner several times which was great. The hotel arranged our arrival and departure transportation which made everything easy. The level of service from all of the staff is top notch! They made our anniversary trip memorable with all kinds of special touches. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Santorini!
Room is very clean and well organised . The receptionist and the housekeeping team are very accommodating . Service is excellent! Mario one of the team who brings our breakfast every morning is excellent. We have been offered a complimentary drink everytime we come back from walking . Always had a clean towels and bed done !!. I would highly recommend this apartment. I would stay here again next time..🥰 The only disappointing thing is that we were did not manage to use the infinity pool, not because we're not allowed to, but because the weather deteriorated after we arrived.
I've stayed in hotels all over the world, but this place wins a special place in my heart for the amazing level of hospitality they provide. From the moment Despina opens the gate to welcome you into her world, you experience amazing service, from the lovely breakfast delivered to room or outside table, to turn down service at night which always contains a surprise you weren't expecting. In fact, this place has surprises of hospitality throughout the day. The rooms themselves are not luxurious as such, but lovely, cozy, clean, and equipped with all the amenities you'd want. The view from our room was so breathtaking, it's hard to imagine doing anything other than just sitting on our porch right by the pool. Anastasis is located in a quieter area, between Oia and Fira, which was perfect for us. I really can't think of a thing to critque about Anastasis. If life ever brings me back this way, I'd book this hotel gladly, anticipating the joy of being here again. …
