Staying at Nefeli Homes was one of the best places we’ve ever vacationed. The warm hospitality provided by Meggie, Joanna, Meggie’a mom (who made our breakfast every morning), and Victor was extraordinary. After booking our stay, Meggie’s provided great help from the start with transportation, answering questions, offering to help book activities.. that was amazing. To top it off, when we arrived all of her suggestions were perfect from what beach to visit with our small babies, to what hikes might be/not be appropriate, and good restaurants to go to! Meggie made our stay the best and to add to it, she let us leave our luggage there when we arrived earlier than check-in and she watched one of our babies when I had to step away briefly. Victor was so quick and courteous with helping us with luggage. Meggie’s mom was so kind and warm, friendly to our babies. It made a huge difference! Also thank you to Joanna who welcomed us on our arrival and checked how we were doing a few days later. We liked staying in Imerovigli which was less crazy packed with tourists than Oia & Fira. Our stay at Nefeli Homes was one of the main highlights of our trip to Greece thanks to the great hospitality by the people mentioned above. Thank you, Meggie, Victor, Meggie’s mom, and Joanna! We loved our stay there. Our room was amazing too, a suite with a private pool. Just perfect.…
The positives: we appreciated the location - away from Thera but with some nice bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk south along the coatal path. We also enjoyed breakfast which was well put together. The staff were very friendly though did not seem well trained to help with anything other than a positive enquiry. The cleaning standards were acceptable, though not great - a pizza crust and plastic cup were thrown onto our terrace one evening from above and were not removed as part of general cleaning. The disappointments: this hotel (based on room 6 which is sold as a "Superior Double") is dated and in major need of renovation, particularly the bathroom. The shower is not big to start with however the shower curtain does nothing to control the shower water (partly because it is too short) and therefore the room is flooded with each shower. The shower head also falls of each time the tap is switched from shower mode back to tap. The door to the bathroom is glass and as there is no shutter or blind on the bathroom window, you cannot keep light out and the bedroom starts to get light from 5AM onwards, with no way to block it out. The staff kindly taped up a bin liner which helped, though not exactly nice for a "Superior" room. The room was also in a generally poor state of repair, with a bundle of exposed wires hanging out one corner, the fuse box door hanging off and the terrace parasol broken. The room also had its original wooden (singled glazed) doors, windows and shutters, which looked cute but offered no noise insulation at all. Our room was underneath a general terrace area therefore every time someone dragged a chair the sound vibrated into our room. The general terrace also overlooked the room terrace, so this along with being next to the reception meant the room and terrace were not very relaxing places to be, and often did not feel as private as they should. I did discuss my disappointments with the staff during our stay and the staff did what they could (for example, see above re bin liner) however to be fair to them these are issues that are not easily resolved and there was no dissatisfaction with them personally. However regarding hotel management, they are not onsite and I was advised they work remotely (how you can manage a hotel without being there I am not sure). It certainly felt they were not supportive of their staff. I was promised a manager would get in touch a number of times however I have now departed and am still awaiting to hear from them, despite following up myself while at the hotel. It will be interesting to see if they reply in a public domain even though they had the opportunity to do so in person. We did request to leave early and for unused nights to be refunded which was eventually agreed by the never-present manager, along with a refund for one further night. On a general note, the bed was one of the hardest I have experienced (I use a lot of hotels due to work), but would not mention this as a negative as I understand this can be personal preference. Also, for any sunset hunters, you will not see it from this room terrace as you are too far around the caldera. Not an issue for ourselves but worth noting for anyone that thinks they may see it from the position of the hotel. There is also no staff coverage after about 11PM therefore if you have any security issues or problems with inconsiderate residents then there is no one onsite to support. Out of five different hotels we stayed at during 3 weeks in Greece (including Mykonos) this was the most expensive per night, however was by far the lowest quality accomodation. Therefore I would recommend either resetting your expectations of what you may be hoping for from a "Superior" room at the Nefeli or consider one of the many, higher quality alternatives in the area.…
This hotel has the potential to be a great hotel. We got the larger family room and it is a great size. Lots of room. The balcony was great too. The sewer smell in the bathroom, however, ruined it. It’s septic tank, and the smell comes through the drains. Staff tried to fix it, but nothing can be done. Our bathroom fan wasn’t working either which didn’t help. I identified the issue pretty soon after we checked in. We were told an electrician would come that day. Nothing. The next day was Sunday and apparently they don’t come that day and was told by the manager that they would come the next day. Still nothing. Very frustrating. Really gross and we were brushing our teeth outside of the bathroom to avoid the smell. Ridiculous. Additionally, by booking was straight through the hotel website. My confirmation indicates 12pm checkout. Reception indicates 11:30am. Another annoying inconsistency. The manager is not on site and I had to talk to her over the phone. She indicated that she would include our breakfast in our rate, which is fine, but doesn’t solve the bathroom issue. Very uncomfortable in the room due to this. Didn’t seem like they really cared, honestly. Overall, the hotel is nice. Lots of stairs but that’s Santorini. Some rooms have less private balconies and almost look like public seating areas. So be aware when booking.…
We had the most amazing views from the two apartments we rented. The night receptionist (forgot her name) who checked us in was awesome, she gave us some very helpful tips on getting around and seeing as much as we could during the short overnight stay that we had - but we crammed alot into our visit (Thank You). Our day receptionist (Meggie) was also great throughout the entire booking process before we arrived. I would definitely recommend Nefeli homes. Didn't care for the bathroom setup, the ceiling should go all the way up so when someone uses the bathroom the entire room does not smell. Also, the drainage wasn't that great, so water tends to pool at you feet. However inspite of these I would definitely stay at Nefeli Homes again!!!
I was in a room with poor ventilation, sometimes I had to open the door and window, which caused me little privacy. There is a balcony next to the pool which is reserved for one of the rooms but you will only know it after you are in it and someone from the staff warns you as there is no identification on it. Breakfast comes with Greek yogurt, the only typical item, and an egg with soft yolk that may not suit everyone.
Wonderful location, beautiful view, friendly and attentive staff made this the perfect hotel for our family vacation! The hotel has 3 levels and a pool to enjoy the spectacular view and the room was comfortable and quaint. Can’t wait to visit again soon!
Honeymooned here for a week in June. We had the best view of the whole caldera. Preferred the area to Oia.... loved the walk from here to Fira and the great restaurants along the way. The room was on 2 floors and decorated like a Santorini cave. They cleaned every day and brought breakfast to the room.. it was always slightly varied which I thought was a nice touch. The staff were excellent and recommended some great trips for us... all well priced (they are clearly not trying to recommend anything for their own benefit, just genuinely want you to have a great time) Nefeli Homes was brilliant and we would definitely stay here again.
The reason to stay here is for the views! Imeroviglia is a village at the highest point on the island's caldera cliff ridge and this hotel is in a great spot. The staff were very friendly and nice an accommodating. They prepare for you a lovely breakfast tray each morning that they can bring to you wherever you like: in your room, on your balcony, on the breakfast deck, on the upper sun deck. Just a heads up that the pool is much smaller than it appears in many photos. In general, the whole property is very small and compact, but that's just how Santorini is (aside from perhaps a few very posh/super expensive places). The pool can be useful to cool off after walking in the hot afternoon sun. I just wish it had a way to sit on the edge of the pool with feet in the water. The way they have the glass around it, you can't do that. We had a room with a jacuzzi tub and that was really nice to sit in at night in the cool air and soak in the incredible views. This was an excellent choice for what we paid and we were pleased.…
We stayed 3 days last week and had an amazing stay here. We had a cave room with a hot tub and an outside table with Caldera views. We really liked the location in Imerovigli. The room itself had a quirky layout (bathroom location) but was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast, which was served in our room one day or can be eaten outside with the magnificent view. Aside from the views, the highlight was the staff! Maggie, Victor, and Olivia made our stay enjoyable and we’re amazing! Thank you and can’t wait to return.
They stole $5000 from us when covid lockdowns were occurring. We gave them $5000 for a suite and the airlines/ Greece ended up locking down days before our trip. first the airlines so even if Greece didn't we couldn't have made it. Expedia and ourselves tried to get them to refund and they refused. so overall we literally handed them $5000 for nothing.
