We were super excited to visit Santorini / Honeymoon Petra Villas, but the reality is that this is simply nowhere near a 5* hotel. At best, this is a solid 3* bet (with a great view). Will start with the positives; - Super friendly staff - Good size pool (for Santorini) - Awesome views - Good breakfast Negatives; - The rooms are super basic and most definitely not as advertised in the photos on their website / booking.com etc. We booked a standard room and asked immediately to be moved. It was right on one of the footpaths that lead through the hotel from Imergolvi to Thera with zero privacy. Tiny bathrooms, small bed, cheap finish etc. - We paid to upgrade to the next category and it was better, although we were disappointed at how much we had to pay - especially considering the hotel was half full. In all honesty, we would have just changed hotels at this point but Honeymoon Petra Villa's insist on everyone paying upfront, so our only option was to upgrade. Even then, the room was tired, the AC didnt work properly and the bathroom flooded when showering. - Everything incurred an extra cost - there are only a handful of sun loungers around the pool, enough for 6/7 people - which is useless when the hotel is full, yet they have 3 huge double daybeds which you can rent for an extra $60 a day, but these lay empty as people crowded onto any spare space they could get around the edge of the pool. - They advertised free transfers on arrival and departure, yet we paid for both legs. - We asked for a late check-out as our flight wasn't until 7pm and this wasn't possible, despite the hotel not being full. All in all, everything just missed the mark. It was meant to be a romantic weekend in one of the most beautiful places on earth and the hotel just made the whole thing feel a bit flat. I'd recommend paying a little extra and staying elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend. Wouldn't return. Would like to shout-out the Avocado restaurant just up the road. The owner here tried his best to sort our situation out and it was some of the best food we had on our trip.…
I know it is the "honeymoon" villas but we went with the kids (19 and 17) and had a lot of fun. The staff was great. In the mornings the owner would sit at his table and I would sit and have coffee with him. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which I highly recommend. The view are the best on the island. The pool is over the top. We also used their sister company to go on a catamaran cruise and saw the sunset (highly recommend).
No need to go to crowded tourist spots for the perfect Santorini sunsets when all you need to do is walk out of your hotel room. There aren’t any tourists walking by either. Pristine rooms with added lounge areas pool and restaurant. Easy location to get around the rest of the island as well. Enjoy.
Wow!! By far the best location in the island, believe me i have stayed in many different areas and luxury hotels in the island and i know.Minimal chic room interior ,very clean with private view balcony. We loved the food and the cocktails, homemade buffet breakfast and creative Greek a la carte menu with many bio and veggie options!! Special reference to the friendlies staff ever!!! from the owner Nicolas, the rec team to the housekeeping.
