The best sides of this place are great hospitality and great views/sunsets. The hosts were very friendly and always ready to help. The bathroom needs an update and if you are sensitive to noises/ privacy you may want to wish for a room upstairs. We enjoyed our stay.
We have just stayed here for a long weekend stay. Location is stunning just outside of Fira with amazing views for a great price. Around a 20 minute walk to Fira but would recommend renting a quad/ATV as it is only 5 minutes drive and 20 minutes drive to Oia. Couldn’t have asked for nicer hosts, thank you Yanna and Panos for being so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast each morning was delicious with a perfect view over the cliffs. We really enjoyed our stay here and if we are ever back in Santorini this will be our first destination to stay!!
Absolutely wonderful 2 weeks. Needless to say Yana and Panos are the back bone of this lovely little boutique hotel - the font of all knowledge, nothing is too much trouble and always a smile. It won't be to everyones taste as the facilities are limited but everything is well presented. We were in room 1 which is to the side of the reception area - very large room, spotlessly clean, basic bathroom with shower (as to be expected in Greece)and nice seating area outside our door. Every room has its own outside seating area but there is additional areas around the plunge pool and off course the sun terrace which is where many like to have their breakfast.Breakfast is cooked/presented freshly every morning between 8.00-10.00,you make your choice on the morning and it is brought to you wherever you decide you want to eat it. We often sat watching the waiters struggling up and down the cliff side providing breakfast on trays to the very up market accommodation either side of our hotel (we later found out that the cost of staying in these places for 2-3 nights was the same as we had paid for 2 weeks !! just because the all have their own pools with a butler). Location is perfect, best place on the island for sunsets. Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy all within a few minutes walk. Firostefani is the next village down which is a 10 min walk with more shops and restaurants a little cheaper then Fira is another 15 mins further which is the hub with abundance of shops, bars and restaurants which does get very busy especially when the cruise liners are in town ! To sum up we thoroughly enjoyed - the only negatives were been dropped off by Tui at a bus stop with no real direction of how to find the accommodation. (hence having to drag heavy suitcases around steep hills for 25mins before finding it !) and someone has decided to open a bar/nightclub 2 doors away called the Buddha bar which can get very noisy some nights which is a shame because Imerovigli is supposed to be an area for total chilling and getting away from the busy pace of life - don't let it put you off though.…
This hotel was fabulous. Janna who runs it could not do enough for all of the guests. Breakfast delicious, location superb, sun terrace with private view of the stunning sunset, whirlpool. I could have wanted for nothing more. As my first solo trip I was made welcome and bedroom was large, airy and cool so I rarely need the air con. I cannot recommend Casa Florina enough (just don't travel with TUI!)
This hotel is at the very top of the Caldera. Rooms are simple but clean. There are three things that make this place special and that is Yanna, Panos and of course the view! Nothing is too much trouble, breakfast choices can be made and taken wherever suits. Food was great. You can ask for wine glasses and kitchen equipment if required. Yanna and Panos will help with bookings or even ordering take away food for you to eat on the terrace. Some of the local tavernas are great, although vary in price. We really enjoyed our time here and will never forget this holiday.
Excellent location in quieter Imerovigli. Beautiful view for breakfast overlooking the sea. Staff were so helpful, arranging taxis, food recommendations. Can’t recommend this place enough for those wishing to avoid the crowds of Fira and Oia and at a reasonable price too!
If I could give a .5 this would be 3.5 and not a 4. But it seems too harsh to mark as a 3. We had a lovely stay here. The hosts are top tier! Yanna is very welcoming and easy going. Clean - The hotel was clean, and their balcony terrace has a great view of the caldera and skaros rock. Probably a better view than what you get in most of the restaurants. So do not worry about rushing to book dinner with a view if you stay here, you have the view there 24/7. Breakfast - The breakfast is great, made fresh to order my the amazing Yanna. You can eat this looking over the view or anywhere else in the hotel. Location - The location is good. Very accessible to thira on foot. If you don’t mind a walk, there are great views all along. If you want an easier walk without views, walk down / up the main road. The negatives: - Very small pool. More like a splash pool. - Lack of facilities in room - tea / coffee etc. - The shower is very small, old and the bathroom is a wet room. So it gets quite wet after you shower. The hotel is a 30min max walk from Thira. Very pleasant, a little tiring. Bring a drink. The walk is much easier on the way down, but it’s nice regardless. If you don’t like to walk and haven’t hired a vehicle, you can get a cab or bus. Cabs seem to be €30-€40 euros, regardless of where you go, unless you negotiate. For example Thira to Oia, Imerovigli to Oia, Imerovigli to Thira, and all of these to the port / airport cost €30-€40. There are few restaurants and bars nearby, Buddha Bar next door. We only tried let’s eat - cheap and cheerful gyros / snack bar. Gyros here used a different sauce to the rest I’ve ever experienced - wasn’t too sure on this. Buses are easy to use from Thira bus station. They use coaches direct from there. Thira to Oia was €1.60 one way pp (cash). If you don’t pay on your way in, you will be charged on your way out.…
This is a beautifully simple hotel in classic Greek style. The position is ideal at the highest point of the highest point on Santorini so no one is looking down on you. The rooms are cool and clean with a full size fridge and cooking facilities behind a curtain. The shower is small but adequate - however regulating the temperature takes some getting used to! The hosts Yianna and Panos are ever present and very helpful - nothing is too much trouble. Personally, I prefer a bit more of a luxury establishment with a bar, club sandwiches, etc but that's just me - there are plenty of them in Santorini with a private terrace and plunge pool and that is what I would go for in future - no reflection on this establishment though! What does spoil the quiet and tranquil nature of the incomparable view of the caldera is the (newly opened?) Buddha Bar next door but one. The lounge music was played at a very loud volume for TWELVE HOURS from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Honestly, it ruined my time at the hotel as you could not escape it either on the balcony, your terrace or in the room with the doors and windows shut. It was a nightmare and if we were staying any longer, I would have contacted my travel company and asked to be moved. If this is something that would not bother you, then I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a relatively inexpensive place to stay in a lovely village on Santorini…
Stunning location and perfect Hosts by Yanna and Panos, loved our stay, the location is fantastic for the views, to walk to Fira or catch a bus to anywhere on the island via Fira from the local bus stop. If you need advice on any arrangements then Yanna or Panos will go out of their way to help. Room was amazing, comfortable bed with small but incredible balcony to watch the sunset with a glass or two of wine. No crowd's just the view! Breakfast was delicious especially sat on the terrace with the view of the caldera. We will have no issue going back and really look forward to when we can, annual leave permitting. Thank you Yanna and Panos for the wonderful welcome and for all you help whilst staying with you. Hope to see you soon. Alex and Paul.
We have just returned from a week's stay at the Casa Florina and I don't think we could have found a better place to stay for the money. Amazing place, amazing views, amazing sunsets and amazing hosts. The hotel is on the highest point of the volcano rim and has the best views you will get of the caldera and sunsets. We booked a sea view room, which was bright and airy and had great views from the terrace. It was the perfect place to sit and eat our breakfast overlooking the caldera and Skaros rock. There is also a large terrace with sunbeds, tables and chairs with the same views, where you could also have your breakfast if you were not in a sea view room. The sunset views from the terrace are truly stunning. The breakfasts were really nice. Each morning you select all you want from a menu that includes meats, cheese, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, bread and drinks. This is then brought to your room, or anywhere you want on the hotel grounds so you can enjoy eating it whilst looking at the fantastic views. The icing on the cake for us were our excellent hosts, Yanna and Panos. From the second we arrived they did everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic holiday including booking restaurants and giving us advice on where to go and how to get the most out of our travels around the island. In summary, I would recommend Casa Florina if you are looking for good value bed and breakfast accommodation with some of the best views in the world.…
