We stayed in this hotel for a little less than a week in October, it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are huge, and with very nice details, the infinity pool is amazing, breakfast is served outside with a spectacular view. The service is exceptional, from the very friendly breakfast service (if I remember correctly - Jenny), to the wonderful Maria at the reception which was always helping out with reservations and suggestions. Highly recommended for some relaxing days - we will definitely be back.
We stayed in three hotels in Santorini during our visit and I just loved this lovely upscale boutique hotel. To me It felt more exclusive and elegant (although slightly less funky) than the white cave hotels in Oia. The hotel is built from a lot of black rock so as other reviewers have mentioned the photos on the website do not do it justice. but actually when you get there it is really beautiful, extremely dramatic and architecturally fits with the environment surrounding it very well. The hotel has wow factor the moment you step inside the relaxing and pretty white lobby made even more lovely by a gorgeous chapel that is a room carved out to your left.. this is such a romantic hotel that oozes charm, the infinity pool is fabulous and and the caldera view is breathtaking. That view never gets old and meals are taken out on a lovely terrace. Our evening meal was wonderful with a great menu, breakfast was to die for! During our stay the staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and in Covid times they followed all the rules of mask wearing unlike other establishments we visited. We were lucky enough to stay in a suite with a hot tub it was room 19 and I’m so glad we had this room. It was away from the bar area so quiet and it felt very secluded. It was lovely to hear the birds singing in the trees below us at sunset whilst sipping a pink lemonade mocktail which was delicious. We were able to enjoy our hot tub privately without guests walking past -A few bits of advice -Some of the rooms are on the pool level and nearer the bar so less private, but most rooms were tucked away so ask for one away from pool. Also to note, hotel is not in walking distance of a village so car or taxi is needed if you want to go anywhere. That aside ,what would make this one of the best hotels in the world rather than a very romantic four and a half star boutique hotel with five star view and service ?? Sadly the pillows were not good enough for a hotel of this standard and I would advise you to take your own until this is remedied and for me, the bed could have been a bit more comfortable , during our stay at least, the water in shower was always warm but not hot. Despite these small kinks don’t let them put you off, I really loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone - we also stayed in Oia and if you are hell bent on staying in a white cave hotel there I’d also suggest staying here for a few days after as it’s more relaxing, and private and the sunsets and view is better despite what guide books say! San Antonio is a lovely romantic hotel and memories of staying there will remain with long after my trip is over. …
Firstly, the Pros; Beautiful hotel and the view is breathtaking. The food offered at breakfast is excellent. The pool is also very beautiful and enough sun loungers for everyone. The Cons; We were made to wait around two hours after arriving for our room because the air conditioner had to be serviced. We were sat waiting for him to finish before we could freshen up after the flight. The portion size (lunch/dinner) in the restaurant is VERY small for the price. I’m a big lad who likes a hearty meal. We ordered several Coke Zeros via room service one night and the next day decided to take them to the pool as we hadn’t used them. The staff accused us of bringing drink in from outside the hotel rather than ordering from the bar. When we explained nothing more was said, but I was highly offended. And biggest issue of all, there were BARE ELECTRICAL WIRES IN THE SHOWER. I kid you not. You read that right. I’ve attached a picture. Approx 15inch below the shower head, in the wet room were bare wires. Should any staff member wish to contact me, i was in room 3 on the 25/09. I’m sure this is an issue that you’d like to discuss & straighten out before something terrible happens.…
San Antonio is a very good hotel with stunning views of the Caldera - perhaps one of the best spots on the island for a hotel. The swimming pool was very nice and great to spend time there. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant offered very good services. However, the hotel seems to focus too much on a particular audience of 'honeymooners' and 'Instagram couples', which can be a bit annoying. The soundtrack of the restaurant and bar was so 'elevator' music and repetitive, which makes it difficult to stay too long (and I guess the musical choice is reflective of the public they are aiming for). The staff, especially in the reception and bar/restaurant, was very friendly and helpful, though, which helps to counterbalance this. There was a problem with the room on the first night, but then we were upgraded the next day to a better room which helped to improve an initially disappointing experience. In sum, a great hotel, which offers a very good range of services, beautiful rooms, and stunning views of the caldera and swimming pool, but perhaps it could aim to diversify its audience to make it more soulful and interesting.…
San Antonio Suites is a great hotel. Well located (even if I would prefer a hotel in Oia for the full and real experience of Santorini) and with the best service. We get an upgrade during our stay and get the best suite with jacuzzi (other rooms with sharing balconies can be disappointing) and a free bottle of wine. Most of the clients spend their time in the beautiful swimming-pool and there is space and sunbeds for everybody. Only bad point : clients. Most of them are honey-moaners, some of them are influencers and spent their time taking pictures of themselves, others are very bling-bling and like to show off. My best suggestion : book the best suite, enjoy your view and jacuzzi and go to the swimming pool early in the morning. Go to the restaurant for breakfast with the amazing view but no necessary to book for lunch and dinner. Go to experience the weird and amazing life in Oia.…
