We stayed five nights at The Grace Hotel and were hugely impressed. We were in a superior suite that came with a sizeable terrace and a small heated plunge pool. Our room (56) was towards the base of the hotel and was one of the more private ones. (The steep slope on which the hotel is built means that none of the room terraces are very private). Our room also gave a great view of the little church just below the hotel, which seemed to have a constant flow of models posing on its roof. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and service was superb throughout our stay. The views are amazing, with Skaros Rock just in front, Oia to the right, Kokkinopetra to the left and the other small islands ahead. Breakfasts at Grace make great start to the day. They are based on a five-course tasting menu that changes daily (albeit maintaining consistent themes to each of the five courses). The only potential downside is that this is no place for the infirm or the unfit. We had 55 steps to breakfast, about 90 to the gym (you felt like you had already had a workout when you arrived there), and about 135 to leave the hotel.

Dear ExpletiveDeleted, Thank you for kind review of Grace Hotel, Santorini, an Auberge Resorts Collection property! All of us delighted you had an excellent experience & I agree with you that everything in life has a tradeoff. In our case unobstructed ocean and sunset views of the Caldera come with steep staircases as Caldera has a natural shape of an amphitheater. Our breakfast concept is carefully curated to surprise you every whilst as succinctly mention too maintaining consistent themes. On a positive thinking the stairs are the best excuse for a guilt-free approach in trying more of our cuisine! Looking forward to your next visit at Grace Santorini. We couldn't be happier about our decision to spend a week of our honeymoon in the Grace Hotel, Santorini. Everything was perfect: the rooms, the pool, the service, the staff (very friendly, nice and professional), the food (especially the breakfast - you get another breakfast menu every day - 5 courses, served to the table), the facililties and the location. About a week before the Arrival, you get to presonalize your room, which means that you can choose the fragrance for the room, for the shower gel, shampoo etc. and the pillows you prefer. Every evening befor bedtime, we found a surprise on our bed (one night it was a night cap, another night a soothing tea or chocolate, every time beautifully arranged with a poem and a nice message. It was THE perfect and most wonderful experience for us. The view from our terrasse, from the pool, the restaurant and the Champagne Lounge is breathtaking. Everybody working at the reception was determined to help with the booking of e.g. a boatstrip, our rental car or with dinner or lunch reservations - this was very comfortable for us as we did not have anything to do with the organization or e.g. the transport. Also, one day I needed a doctor who was at our room to help within half an hour, all organized by the reception. We specifically would like to mention Iwannis/Giannis, the barkeeper at the Champagne Lounge: he was very friendly and fun, great company when we were in the mood for company (but also knew when we weren't) and he makes the best and most special Gin Tonics. All in all it is safe to say that this was one of our best experiences in a hotel ever and we will certainly be back!

We loved the view from our room. The room itself was not very large, but it did have a nice outside table and chairs, which gave us more space, and which faced the beautiful scenery. The hotel has larger rooms with private pools, but we stayed in a regular room. The hotel has altogether some 20 rooms. Service of the room was perfect. Managing the stairs down to the room and up to go anywhere else, was a challenge, but we succeeded. The food in the dininf room was excellent, if expensive. We realized that just to get everything brourht in by porters must add to the expense.

Dear EllenGS2014, Thank you for your kind review for Grace Hotel Santorini, an Auberge Resorts Collection property! Ellen we are delighted from the simplicity in your description for our services. Santorini, a half moon-shaped island, being a magnificent geo-phenomenon some 360meters high up from sea level certainly comes with a tradeoff of stairs. On the other hand you are compensated with the prime seat to one of the best, if not the best, Sunset delirium locations in the world! Having said that, we all look forward to welcoming you back again soon & rest assured your beloved room shall be kept aside for your enjoyment! Kind Regards, George Vlachopoulos General Manager

We had an outstanding stay at the Grace Hotel. From the champagne welcome on the terrace overlooking the spectacular caldera, to the many instances of extra and personal attention throughout our stay the staff and management at the Grace were exemplary. We chose the Grace as the site for our symbolic wedding vows. The staff not only assisted us and made this easy and comfortable, but also surprised us with a congratulatory bottle of Prosecco and snacks for our after ceremony celebration. We could not have asked for more! We hope to return to celebrate an anniversary.

The Grace Hotel is spectacular. The view of Skaros Rock and the Caldera are the best on the island. This is a perfect spot to watch the most amazing sunsets. We booked a junior suite with a private pool. The room was beautiful (we had room #33) and the hotel provides several special touches, like a keepsake box to collect items, and creative daily turn down service treats each evening. The mini bar is well-stocked with a number of items so you don't need to venture out. Daily breakfast is a 5 course meal usually consisting of a smoothy, a Greek yogurt dish, a daily pie, an egg dish and something sweet at the end, which could be a crepe, or something else special. The food was excellent. If I have to be hyper-critical, I felt the server should have known by our 5th day whether we wanted still or sparkling water, and what kind of coffee or tea we ordered each day. There are only 21 rooms on property. He did, however know my allergy and made accommodations each day for an alternative for me. Service was excellent, so I know I am being overly critical. One of our favorite spots at the hotel is the lounge. The bartender, Giannis, is amazing and he is a super nice gentleman. The bar menu has some great drink options, and the bar itself is well stocked with many top end gins, tequilas and whiskeys. The bar food is also really good. We had Greek "salad", which were little ice cream cones with olive "dust" that tasted just like Greek salad. We also had these smoked cheese puffs that were served under a dome filled with smoke and with a fig sauce. These were amazing appetizers. One suggestion is try to avoid a room near the path to Skaros Rock. There is an end room or two that can be affected by noise from early walkers. We read this previously on this site and the hotel accommodated our request to avoid this.
