The Grade hotel was incredible! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and really went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our time there. Our room was perfect and the views are the best on Santorini! Highly recommend!
My wife and I spent five nights at the Grace Hotel to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. Over the course of the five days we managed to explore a lot of the island. There are a lot of beautiful hotels in Oia and Oia is far larger than Imerovigli with more shops and many more restaurants. However, the Grace Hotel has by far the best view on the island, hands down, it is truly spectacular! As a matter of fact, the hotels in Oia do not view the sunset directly and, in my opinon, do not have as good of a view generally. We also preferred Imerovigli because it was very quiet. I think any hotel in Oia would be a different experience. The hotel itself is again beautiful and every detail is simple but luxurious. Take advantage of the fantastic Grace staff to recommend outings, everything was seemless. Highly recommend the wine tour and private sunset cruise. The only issue we had was that we booked a junior suite with plunge pool, which is more junior than it is a suite. Room 46 was a very nice room, but the trade off was a very small plunge pool with no lounge chairs. The other junior suites were not much better in terms of outdoor space and had less privacy. We were fortunate that the VIP suite was available due to a cancelation and we paid to upgrade. If you are going to Grace go for the VIP suite. It also appeared that the superior suites would be a good option. However, the main pool is beautiful, so if you care less about private outdoor space, any room here will do. …
Santorini was our fourth stop during our honeymoon and we went into the trip most looking forward to our stay at Grace Hotel. After a 5-hour trip from Chania, Crete starting at 4:30am that morning, we arrived at 11am absolutely starved. While we were greeted by a glass of champagne and a delicious, small pastry, we ere really hoping we'd be offered a plate of fruit or anything with any sort of minor substance/nutrition. Instead, we were just greeted by an incredible scenery (which really cannot be replicated elsewhere and is truly stunning). After not offering us any sort of food, the seemingly disingenuous manager suggested a couple of local spots (which all require an uphill, somewhat taxing walk made even more taxing by the fact that we were really tired and hungry. While I absolutely recognize the breakfast is a pre-fix menu, we didn't necessarily need that but when you are paying as much as customers of this hotel are, you expect a bit more than "go here for lunch". This definitely got our trip off to a rocky start but would have been totally fine if it was the only negative. The same manager also recommended that we skip dinner of traditional Greek food at Metaxi Mas (which we were really excited about) and instead to eat dinner at local spot Anogi. After eating a supremely average meal at Anogi (one of the worse meals in our 3+ week long trip), it seemed like a tourist trap that the hotel likely got some kickbacks from. Not to mention that I literally watched the manager charging our credit card add 10% gratuity on her own without my consent. Not that I wouldn't have added tip myself but that is a major faux pas. I'll also add that we went to Metaxi Mas (after our hotel could only get us a 10pm reservation -- not sure how that's possible because every other hotel we stayed at was able to get us better reservations at more popular restaurants) and Metaxi Mas was amazing -- go there and don't listen to the hotel. In the middle of the first night, we also woke up sweating and a non-functional AC system. When I went to the panel, it had some sort of failure notification that I needed to click through to get it working again. It did this one more time early that morning and when we told the front desk, they quickly dismissed it as a non-issue that's been resolved. I think we expected a bit more of an apologetic tone, for naught. That morning, after a lovely breakfast and a walk around town, we came back to one of my wife's white shoes missing. She clearly has them laid outside of her suitcase and was considering wearing them that morning but we came back to no right shoe. Luckily, the shoe was not expensive but nobody in the hotel really cared or showed any sort of remorse for the fact that housekeeping seemed to have jumbled the shoe up in towels and lost it. Really frustrating show of apathy by multiple staff members of the hotel (front desk and housekeeping). On our last morning, I also wanted to get a workout in early prior to our noon flight, but the gym was locked. When I went to the front desk to ask them for a key to unlock it, they told me that someone else was scheduled to use the gym 20 minutes later and due to covid policies, there's only one guest room allowed to use the gym at once. Now while I totally agree with the policy, that was the first time anybody had told me that on our final day at the hotel. Given I had a flight that morning, it was just another example of the hotel's substandard service. On the bright side, the property was truly beautiful, the breakfast was nice, and the room and toiletry amenities were best-in-class. Overall, for a hotel that was awarded second best in the world (!) according to Travel and Leisure during our trip, we were extremely underwhelmed by the sterile and at times arrogant service. Greece is an amazing country with some of the warmest people I've ever met. In my opinion, it's not worth spending time at Greek properties that don't exude that warmth. We experienced that warmth in a brief tour of the Katikies property and would stay there on a return visit to Santorini.…
My wife and I decided to visit Santorini for a milestone birthday. Santorini was always a place we talked about visiting, so we booked a stay at the Grace Hotel. Prior to arriving, four different team members helped craft our dream vacation by making four different dinner reservations at great restaurants, two boating trips, a cooking class, a wine tour, a prehistorical tour, and two trips to beach clubs. When we arrived, we were greeted with a warm smile and a glass of champagne from the reception staff. Our whole trip was planned perfectly by the Grace. When we arrived at our event for the day, we were given special treatment due to the fact that the Grace Hotel pulling strings for us. One night, for example, we told our bartender that we wanted to try a local restaurant and asked for a reservation. He immediately made a phone call to a busy restaurant. He informed us that when we got to the restaurant that there would be a long line, but that we should go to the front and tell the staff that we were from the Grace and we would be seated immediately. The service staff all knew our names and our stories, while providing us with excellent service and greeting us with warm smiles. The food and the drinks were befitting of this luxury resort. The room, private patio and secluded balcony offered a breathtaking view of the caldera. Every night the rooms were turned down and little gifts (liquor, chocolate, sleeping masks, craft soap, more chocolate, and tea) were left for us every night. We strongly recommend the Grace Hotel, because they did everything they could do to make our trip memorable. And, they succeeded more than I thought could ever be possible. …
Stayed at the hotel for six days with my wife for our covid delayed honeymoon. The property is beautiful and centrally located away from some of the busier tourist areas. The most impressive part of the stay was the service - from the front desk to the concierge, to the restaurant manager and staff - amazing... Can't give a high enough recommendation.
My fiancé and I stayed for 3 amazing nights at the Grace. What an incredible experience! The views where even better than photos, almost surreal. Every staff member we came in contact with was warm and friendly. Special recognition must go to the restaurant, driver, and medical person who helped me with a small cut on my finger. The unexpected highlight was the restaurant food. Wow! Definitely the best hotel food experience we have ever had, and we have had some great ones. We ended up wanting to eat at the hotel ever time. In fact on the last day we are every meal there - breakfast, lunch and dinner. All incredible. Between the setting, views and food, it is the best breakfast experience of my life. Can’t wait to go back!
The Grace hotel is magnificently beautiful, but what really sets it apart are the staff. They are superbly trained and attune to your every need. Overall, they are the most gracious and friendly we've ever experienced, they clearly love their jobs. The hotel is amazing, but not a place for everyone.....there are many, many stairs, before you even get to the reception area. This is unavoidable, due to the nature of the cliffs and architecture. Be sure to inquire about the specific location of the rooms before you book, many are accessible with less stairs, and some are very private, others not private at all due to the public walking path that accesses Skartos Rock, which is immediately in front of the hotel. The champagne breakfast (included daily) is a taste of the very best, and you can also just request something else (for example if you just want bacon and eggs). Dined twice in the restaurant, a true gastronomical experience. The sunsets are extraordinary. The location is the most perfect in the island, basically in the middle of the caldera. It is quite, not noisy and filled with tourists like in Oai and Fira. Have traveled expensively in luxury properties, and can honestly say that there is nothing quite like Santorini and the Grace Hotel. You won't be disappointed.…
The views from this hotel have got to be one of the nicest in the world. Service in the hotel is also impeccable. Incredibly helpful before we arrived with plans/suggestions and the entire time we were there. Beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect (not something you usually can say in Europe) They truly go out of their way to ensure that anything you need is taken care of.
We stayed at the Grace Hotel in Santorini for our honeymoon. The place was beyond beautiful, the food was incredible, & the service was amazing. We had dinner at the restaurant on our last night & it was the best meal we had the entire trip! To top it off, the service was even better. Nektarios & George were the best waiters- so nice & professional. Will definitely be coming back for our anniversary!!
We enjoyed our stay at Grace Hotel from the moment we checked in. Our driver called ahead to the hotel with our arrival time so someone from the hotel could meet us and carry our luggage down the endless sets of rocky stairs to the hotel. Do not try to carry the luggage to the hotel on your own. Instead, you can call the hotel and they will send someone up to meet you. Wearing comfortable shoes is important as the path to Grace is made of rocky steps that can be slippery but breathtaking as you view the caldera and sea on the way to Reception. The Front Manager Konstantinos greeted us in person and we were treated with champagne and Greek desserts as we checked in and learned about the hotel and amenities such as our private plunge pool, free breakfast, portable Bluetooth speaker and high speed WiFi throughout the property. We booked this hotel through American Express travel and used the American Express Platinum card so many addition benefits were included such as free upgrade if available, 4 PM late checkout, €100 credit to use onsite or remove from your total bill, and free airport transfer. When check-in was completed, we were pleased to receive an upgrade to a Superior suite. Konstantinos even booked dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant for us as it can get crowded for dinner with people watching the sunset. Matina walked us to our suite and personally explained all the features and benefits of our suite. Coffee and tea are included and the mini-bar also comes with soda, snacks and alcohol for a small fee. A full set of bath amenities was provide along with an iPad to control your TV and view the movies and entertainment on demand. A complementary bottle of champagne and a tray of fruits and desserts was brought to our room shortly after we settled in. The view from our balcony and in our plunge pool was amazing! We were jet-lagged and unable to make our dinner which was outside on the pool deck so we decided to watch the sunset from our room and order Room Service. The famous Skaros Rock was very close to us along with a church that offered great picture opportunities. We were able to take beautiful pictures and watch the sunset from the privacy (and space) of our balcony without having to deal with the crowds . The sunset is truly the best in Imerovigli and so much better than Oia since we had a private spot for our champagne toast at sunset and didn’t have to fight all the people for pictures. We ended our magical night enjoying the plunge pool and listening to music with the room’s Bluetooth speaker before turning in with a movie and Room Service. Our €100 credit came in handy. We had the pasta - one with meat sauce and the other with shrimp. Both were excellent and served hot along with a glass of red wine that was the perfect ending to a memorable night. In the morning, we headed to the restaurant for our multi-course Champagne breakfast that is included and designed to introduce many traditional Greek foods and flavors. The hotel was very accommodating with dietary restrictions and provides a breakfast menu the previous night in your room so you can request any substitutions in advance and have a custom breakfast ready when you arrive. We started with coffee and their bread basket. It was followed with a delicious fruit and veggie smoothie, Greek yogurt, and a great spinach and veggie pie. Champagne was served then the main course was given. My wife had the omelet but I don’t like eggs so they offered sausages and bacon without eggs and toast. Finally, we received a traditional Greek dessert to end our fabulous dining experience. Every item was excellent, not too big and enough to experience the rich flavors. Our server Shiela was the best and took the time to explain every course and offer suggestions if you were not interested in an item. She was constantly serving us coffee, water, and champagne then bringing each course to the table. Breakfast is leisurely and you can enjoy the magnificent view of the caldera during your meal. It was a little cold and windy so Shiela provided blankets for our use. Having a 4 PM late checkout was great since we did not have to rush back after breakfast. We spent the day enjoying the view from our plunge pool and had lunch nearby. When we checked out, Konstantinos arranged for our transport to our next hotel to be included free as part of the American Express Platinum benefit. Konstantinos offered his card and said if we ever needed assistance while we were on the island, give them a call even if we are no longer hotel guests. Our driver was excellent and also took us to a safe, recommended ATM where he cleaned the keypad before we used it. Once again, our driver called the hotel in advance and we were met on the street with someone to carry our luggage to our next hotel. From beginning to end, Grace Hotel provided a smooth, flawless experience through wonderful people such as Konstantinos, Matina and Shiela who personally take the time with you and make you feel like the most important guest. The property and the view are unmatched and the best on the island for a sunset that you won’t forget! Booking our hotel through American Express travel and using the Platinum card made a big difference and made a great experience truly outstanding in every way. When in Santorini, there is no other like Grace Hotel.…
