We had a very pleasant and fine holiday at Lenikos Resort. Beautiful and aspirated apartments, equipped with every comfort (good working, quiet air conditioning!) and the necessary houseware. The complex is 150m above sea level: a car to drive to the cozy town of Agia Galini (many good restaurants) is therefore a must. But you do have a beautiful view of the city and the sea from above, and that in peace: we heard more cicadas than people! We were spoiled daily with a delicious and very varied breakfast with many -often homemade- delicacies: a feast! The Resort was very neatly maintained and cleaned (garden, swimming pools, sun loungers...), also kudos to the cleaning staff who cleaned the rooms. If there were any problems or questions, they were resolved by the operators as soon as possible. Lenikos Resort: a place to unwind and enjoy!

Lennikos Resort is a delightful collection of apartments set on the hillside above Agia Galini on the south coast of Crete. It has a spectacular view of the Gulf of Messara, Matala and Cape Lithina in the distance. Each apartment is well appointed with kitchenette, washing machine, TV and Wifi. IT is about 5 minutes from the seaside village of Agia Galini itself which has restaurants, shops, and a supermarket. Galini beach is close by and further afield is Matala beach. Kali Limenes (Fair Havens of St. Paul's journey) and Phaistos ruins are also worth a visit.

It started with a nice welcome. We received something to drink and snacks upon arrival. Relaxing after a long drive.
We had an apartment with its own pool. Looked very nice. Spacious terrace with fortunately some shade all day long.
Apartment was fully equipped. There was already a bottle of water ready in the refrigerator. Very nice.
Beds slept very well.

You have to do everything by car because it is quite in the mountains. And a ride to the north of the island (there are all kinds of activities available there, such as jet skiing) only takes about an hour, but it is a very intensive drive.
In the village itself there is a great beach where you are served on your lounger (costs nothing) and you only pay upon departure. Free tip: I bought water shoes for the whole family for ten euros per person. The beach had sand but also pebbles, so those shoes were very nice.

It's a shame we chose the Lenikos Resort because of the beautiful view. According to the description of Schauinslandreisen (apartment with 2 bedrooms), this is offered by every apartment. Nothing because we currently have apartment number 102 "lowered". This apartment has a huge terrace, which is outside the basement apartment. The terrace is not lit so we can't see anything in the evening if we want to eat or have a game night. (We then bought a solar spotlight in Mires). You also feel like you're sitting on a platter because the stairs lead from the parking lot to the reception and breakfast room. It's a shame that we can only see the walls from the apartment. To go out on the terrace you have to get dressed. Arrival was September 17th, 2023 (11:30 p.m.) the next day we complained immediately because we only had a view of walls and bushes. We were told we couldn't until September 23rd. move to another apartment and nothing would be available beforehand. We didn't want that, we also wanted to cook and I cook properly, and we didn't want to move with a full fridge. Well, it's a compromise even if we drive up the mountain and see all the beautiful houses here in the Lenikos Resort with their terraces or balconies and their views. We then go into our basement with a view of stairs, walls and bushes. We have an attic apartment in Germany with a terrace and a view of the Kandel and we go on vacation in the basement. (Very bad description from the organizer Schauinsland Reisen) Luckily we are out and about every day and don't have any pool burrs. The staff is very nice and the facility is beautiful. The breakfast was so elaborate and 😋 delicious. The cook would be in great demand here in Germany. 5 stars for the cook❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

RoomThe rooms were very clean and the kitchen was equipped with the most important things. We buy our accommodation on the islands in every price range and the kitchen utensils we need, so to speak. Usually a cutting board, lemon squeezer, sharp knife. It would have been nice if we had had a tray in the apartment, unfortunately we couldn't find a store where we could buy one in the size we needed.
Food and DrinksThe breakfast was very elaborately prepared, there was so much delicious food from the kitchen, most of it was homemade and tasted really, really tasty. 5 stars for that!!!!!

We stayed a week in the Deluxe 2 Bedroom Apartment and that was no punishment.

A beautiful spacious apartment which was very very clean, 2 bathrooms, 2 walk-in closets and a beautiful view. The complex is small, has beautiful swimming pools and there is more than enough parking. The owner is friendly and she serves a delicious breakfast every morning with local products and dishes that are mostly made by the owner herself.

This stay is an absolute must and we will definitely return here if we go to southern Crete again.

We spontaneously personally requested accommodation with 2 separate bedrooms: wonderful studio, with 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 terraces. Great complex, incredibly quiet, 3 pools , fantastic location , very friendly handling. We have directly extended a day and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We have been spending our holidays at the Lenikos Resort for several years and have always felt comfortable. This year we also booked a maisonette at the appropriate price. When we arrived in the evening we were given an apartment of a lower category and were not able to change it at first; we were only told "tomorrow morning". In fact, we were able to move. However, without an apology or explanation. Unfortunately, the impression remains that they simply waited to see if there were any complaints. It could have worked, what a pity.

Hi we stayed in room 30? resort and had a pleasant time the location is 3 Km for the city so a car is needed. The room we had was a bit disappointing, the lack of storage was an issue no place for clothes other than a small 1.50M wardrobe and washing machine for dirty clothes. no place to store travel bags.
The main gripe was the bed, it was not a double bed but 2 beds just used together so there was a gap between them that needed to be navigated,
I guess as we booked a package holiday we got the worst rooms in the complex!

Response from EVA PETRAKI, Ιδιοκτήτης at Lenikos Resort
Responded Oct 27, 2020
Dear Mr Brendan, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We always welcome and appreciate feedback towards and evaluate our services as well as the guest's experience. Reading your compleints I would like to advice you to be more carefull when you choose your accomodation type for your holidays. At Lenikos there are not worst or better accomodations and does not involved in it, if it is package holidays or not. It has to do with each people needs. You stayed in villa 303, with outstanding view to the sea, and you had to see more carefully the real photos when you booked. It is more than clear in the photos that this accomodation type has two seperate iron beds and the wardrobe. You could had choosen an other accomodation type, more suitable to your needs(superior appartment, studio, maisonette, suite e.t.c) Futhemore you could discuss it with us during your stay. If I knew the situation I had some proposals for you but you never have mentioned anything about it. Anyway, we were very happy to have you stay with us and of course, we are looking forward to having you back next year. Kind regards Eva Petraki

We had our 25th wedding anniversary and my birthday and I thought we'd get something modern with more comfort this year.! NOTHING!!!😡We arrived at midnight and were very tired. We were briefly shown the apartment and then I asked about the view. We went back up the stairs to a large terrace, which of course had a great view. The terrace is outside apartment 102. Every time we wanted to eat we had to carry all our stuff up and of course back down again. First because of the wind and the other time because of the cats. You can see the view from the apartment in the pictures. We paid 1950 euros for the 14 days with breakfast. We could have moved but only 1 week after arriving. That was too late for us. By then we had already fully furnished ourselves, including food for cooking. You won't find in any description, not even in the direct provider's description, that the 2-bedroom apartment has an outside terrace. Of course the view of the walls in the apartment is not mentioned. The three pools are actually very small. I don't need a pool myself, but I like to swim in the mornings and that wasn't possible here. After 5 strokes it was over. We were on the move every day and we missed the Greek hospitality here, it was far too sterile for us. We will come back to Crete because outside of the resort everything was wonderful, Greece as we know it. We no longer need a resort with a pool. SORRY dear Lenikus Resort team, for this price you should offer more service.

Beautifully situated near the impressive rock “Lenikos”, a resort built against the slope! Every morning we were kindly received in the breakfast room. We were then treated to a personal (different every day!) very varied breakfast. Real Greek delicacies! The apartment was cleaned every day as required.
We chose the nearest swimming pool, but you were allowed to use all three!
Lovely luxurious sunbeds and even a bath towel to put on them! From our apartment you could look straight into the valley where Agia Galini was located and where there were many nice places to eat out in the evening!
The hostess was very friendly and nothing was too much! Recommended!
