A little disappointed when we checked out to be presented with a bill for coffee's that we had with breakfast all week with no prior notice that these were chargeable. we then went to a different Island before travelling home and all coffee, cappuccino etc were included so I think not typical. Had a gorgeous view from our room but although there is a small built in wardrobe for hanging there were no drawers at all so our clothes had to be kept on the spare bed in the room. Nobody seemed to know how to use the safe in the room so we ended up taking our valuables to the beach.

Dear Julia C, "Kalispera" - Good day from Blue Bay Resort Hotel! In reply to your review kindly note that our resort hotel is located on the island of Crete/Greece. Since we do offer filter coffee, espresso, cappuccino, coffee latte and smilar within our breakfast buffet, as well as at our Pool/Snackbars throughout the day, we presume you have stayed in another Blue Bay hotel. Further, we have not opened this summer season due to the Corona Virus. Also there is no need to figger out how to use the safe in the room, since it is with a key and informations are given upon arrival, as well as the hotel directory (placed in every room) refers to details, but also the welcome/flyer with useful information handed to every arrival has the necessary details. Please feel free to download your review and place it to the correct hotel. We wish you well and would have pleasure to welcome you to the Blue Bay Resort hotel in Agia Pelagia on Crete and already grant you our distinguished services and traditional hospitality at its best. Faithfully yours, Korinna A. Hotel Manager

Beautiful hotel, staff really friendly and helpful Our room wasn’t ready when we first arrived but we had an upgrade to a family suite the views and sunrise/sunsets across the bay were amazing Room was cleaned daily and towels every other day the jacuzzi took a bit of figuring out but worked well and was well placed on the balcony to look over the bay The hotel knew it was our anniversary we had a lovely card, Greek fizz, walnuts, huge bowl of honey and a massive fruit basket which was a really nice touch Pool areas were spotless some livelier than others Very very steep walk down to the stoney beach which was very small Food was always piping hot and plenty of variety cooking stations were on at all meal times Plenty of salads n vegetables on offer Drinks were limited to a certain selection but you could pay extra for specifics this was no issue for us but some people did quibble Bus stop right outside which takes you Heraklion centre which was a lovely day out wandering the local streets and markets only €3 each way definitely worth it All in all a lovely holiday a lovely hotel and a very relaxed break

I was at the hotel for a friends wedding. The staff were accommodating and helpful when it came to the set up, but at times they were restrictive. I have been to abroad weddings before and it was surprising that they wouldn't reserve the outdoor restaurant area for the wedding party dinner. The food is the main reason I have given 4 stars. It was superb every night and I definitely indulged. Overseen by Mr Dimitius who is a gentleman, a true gem. The hotel itself is quite small so there's not much to do. It's a decline down hill to the pebble beach (or the hotel has a shuttle) which charges for use of the sun loungers (I believe €3) and extra for the umbrella. There are other beaches but will require 2 buses and the timetable is quite restrictive. The pool and bar area is good with plenty of loungers. The rooms was quite basis, more like a travelodge. Had to request a kettle, refreshments and toiletries. It was an ok stay overall.

Dear Shezrena, “Kalispera” – Good day from Blue Bay Resort Hotel! It was our pleasure to welcome you and your friends for another friend’s wedding. We are happy to read you had a nice stay overall and enjoyed also the food. In reply to your thoughts we’d like to bring to mind that the hotel was fully booked during your stay and that the main restaurant was accordingly busy; The seating capacity is designed in such a way that all hotel guests (all booked on all inclusive) have the opportunity to find a table at a location of their choice during the 3-hour service period. Accordingly, it would not have been justified to offer and reserve an entire outdoor area for a large group like yours. Especially since for occasions like this, there is the choice of a separate room and the a la carte restaurant, both available for a surcharge. It should also be noted that you ultimately implemented your seating wishes to the satisfaction of your group and for this; too, we would think that we have earned at least the 4 stars, which also corresponds to the category of the hotel. We are thrilled though that you found the food superb and had a great wedding reception on the outside terrace organized by your friends. Blue Bay Resort hotel is located in a quiet and relaxing surrounding in “Agia Pelagia”, in a privileged slope location above the “Mononaftis Bay” – a public beach with a few shops, taverns and cafeterias. The distance to this beach is just 250m through the hotel via stairs or along a traffic calmed road, while the hotel offers a free shuttle at 5 set times a day. The resorts centre, “Agia Pelagia” is in distance of approximately 2kms with a nice sandy beach, more shops, taverns and cafeterias; another beach with crystal clear waters is the “Psaromoura Beach” in about 1,5kms. All these beaches are in walking distance and the local bus stop just outside the entrance of Blue Bay Resort hotel directs to the capital city of Crete, Heraklion. It is unfortunate that the room you selected and booked from our wide selection did not meet your expectations. Perhaps an executive room or a suite with a pool would have more likely met your needs; all guests are spoiled for choice and examples of all rooms can be viewed also on our homepage. Further, all hotel descriptions and publications refer to kettles offered on request and upon availability, while it is also clearly described that bathroom toiletries are offered in form of a soap dispenser in all rooms, while the higher categories also have further bathroom amenities. Rest assured, that at Blue Bay Resort hotel, we are always striving to provide distinguished services combined with genuine hospitality to our valued guests, which is what we are known for. We regret that apparently you do not seem to know that all inclusive programs differ, which is one of the main reasons that we describe ours in detail on all occasions; The all inclusive program includes following beverage consumption daily until 23:00 hrs: Local soft drinks, water, juice, local house wine (red, rose & white), local draft beer, raki, ouzo, tea & filter coffee. While the 4 water stations throughout the hotel as well as the welcome station in the lobby with water, juice, tea & coffee are available 24hours/7days. Cocktails are subject to extra charge, except 2 special compositions based on raki (with fizzy lemon, grapefruit & grenadine and (ouzo with fizzy orange, orange juice & grenadine). In addition to the above an extensive menu-card of branded refreshments, bottled wine & beer, cocktails, spirits, champagnes etc are available at charge. There is a mini refrigerator in every room, where we place a bottle of water for every arrival, however there is no mini bar with refreshments. Thank you for your feedback and open words, which we highly appreciate. We definitely look forward to welcoming you back again, whenever returning to Crete. Yours faithfully, Korinna A. Hotel Manager

The hotel was lovely and the food was great. We upgraded to a room with private jacuzzi which was really great because the pool got crazy busy and it was really nice to escape to our own balcony and relax privately. It's a walk of note to the tiny beach but there is a shuttle if you're not keen on doing it.

We stayed at the end of September-mid October. What can I say about this hotel? The food is great and have so much choice! Good entertainment in the evenings, absolutely loved the ‘Greek night’. The staff are brilliant! Really friendly, helpful and caring. Bar staff always served with a smile and made you feel so welcomed! Thank you George and Dimitri! The animation team are excellent! Every day arranging activities at the hotel; darts competition, water aerobics, volleyball, mystery cocktail ect. Very enthusiastic! Thank you again Maria and the other lady (didn’t get her name before we left). And thank you Dimos (sorry I hope I’ve spelt it right!) the guest relations manager; saw him every day during our stay, welcoming us to the dining room and informed us on the way out the evenings entertainment. Such a friendly gentleman! The all inclusive drink selection is very good as you have white wine, red wine, rose, beer, ouzo, sangria, raki cocktails (we love raki!) and soft drinks. The selection of cocktails off the all in menu were fantastic, made to perfection! Roughly cost €6.50-€7 and were so worth it! You could get drinks from the pool or from the bar near reception. Plenty of choice of where to sit and chill. The location is very good with being close to 3 beaches, shops, mini markets and supermarkets (be prepared though for the steep hill leading to the beach and shops down the road! But does make a good workout!), the hotel has its own little shop, Agia Pelagia only 15-20 minute walk (lovely village), two car hires with one being across the road from the hotel, the quad biking safari is a 2 minute walk (recommend) and boat hires 5-10 minute walk (also recommend). A bus is available outside the hotel to go to Heraklion and other destinations for good prices (Heraklion return €7.60 each). We had an issue with our shower that we mentioned on a survey, by the next morning they fixed it! They take what you say seriously and sort it. Our room was lovely and had a beautiful view. Had a bell boy take us to our room when we arrived and pick us up to bring us to reception, as we were in the annex. We phoned up reception and within minutes was at our door to collect us. Overall we love this hotel and would happily stay again! Can’t wait for our next trip! Recommend to anyone!
