A hotel that feels more like a family, who look after guests and have a lovely atmosphere.
The hotel is lovely with a good variety of rooms and styles. The restaurant is fantastic - even top 10 through TripAdvisor and the staff including the manager always go above and beyond.
Although we have been coming for years, and do love the place, it always exceeds expectations and we would absolutely recommend a stay!

We stayed here in August 2019 and loved it so much that we have booked again for July 2020! It's the first time we return to the same place for a summer holiday instead of trying something new.
It's a small scale hotel/apartment complex with great breakfast, nice views, clean and spacious rooms, perfect pool (with enough sun loungers and no reserving of beds with towels, at least when we were there) and tasty food in the restaurant. What we also enjoyed, was that the guests are mixed nationalities and a good mix of families, younger and older couples. It's on a hill so you have to walk a few minutes down to the beachfront and the restaurants (and back up) but it's worth it for being away from the louder resorts. It's also only a short drive/transfer from the Heraklion town and airport and if you have a rental car, there is (free) parking available at the hotel.
But overall, I think one of the main reasons that we are so happy to return here, is the very friendly staff! The whole team really makes you feel at home and will do anything to make sure you have a great holiday.

Liked · The complex is absolutly beautifull, better then the photos. There is also an extra pool that we did not see on the photos uploaded. The locatiom was also ok for us, you have to walt 5 minutes to the beach and all the restaurants. The staff was firendly and we had a good 6 days.
Disliked · The wifi is horrible, at the point that you can not use
It. The breakfast was a dissapointment, because of covid there were fixed menu s and not buffet, but we felt more that this was more a money saving implementatiom then because of safety. Absolutly no vegetables, salad etc.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate your positive comments but we also take the negative ones into serious consideration. As for the breakfast specifically, we assure you that it would have been much more convenient and of lower cost for us if it was a buffet, so it was truly adjusted to Covid measures. Regarding vegetables and salad, perhaps you chose the wrong menu because if you had chosen the HEALTHY or CRETAN one, you would have got a big fresh salad and more vegetables. We hope to see you again one day and leave you completely satisfied !

Utterly lovely property. Very warm and welcoming staff, and a really high quality and excellent restaurant that does both a hearty breakfast selection and a small but extremely delicious and comparatively cheap lunch and dinner menu. The whole place was spotless, and our sea view apartment had a spectacular view. Its in a great place, only 5 minutes walk into agia pelagia, but high enough up the hill to feel more intimate and get a wonderful sea breeze on very hot days. Air con worked well, and the small kitchenette was very useful, with supermarkets just down the road in town. Was very quiet and chilled when we were there due to covid, so I can't say how it would be at full occupancy during a normal August, but our experience was perfect.

We had a fabulous week at the Irida Hotel and would recommend to anyone looking for relaxation with the option to go and explore.
As it was a special holiday we booked the Hilltop Suite, which was stunning. Beautifully designed, gorgeous view down to the beach and a lovely pool to lounge around and in.
We spent some time around the main pool with the bar (and a fun 80s playlist) and the quieter pool with no music and enjoyed both.
Food and drinks were for us londoners very reasonable and we really enjoyed everything we ate - and a strawberry monitor became our afternoon drink of choice.
Location was excellent, it was about a 7 mins downhill walk to the edge of Agia Pelagia beach, where there are 2 supermarkets and lots of great restaurants - we ate in 4 and enjoyed them all.
It was the staff however, that made our trip such a joy. They are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We asked for a restaurant recommendation for a night in Heraklion and they helped us get a table at Peskesi (which is a must visit) and also booked us a half day sailing and made everything so easy!
We would definitely return to this hotel again and highly recommend it!

Great hotel with a nice atmosphere. The staff is really nice and are willing to help with everting so you get an unforgettable holiday. Food and drinks was nice, and the bar personal really seemed to enjoy their job. Only minus was a lot of children’s families, but even there you could go to the other pool. The little town Agia Peligia was nice and had a lot of restaurants at the promenade. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which goes straight to Heraklion centrum. I can recommend walking 1 km to Ligaria beach which is less crowded and cheaper for beach chairs.
All in all a very pleasant stay in Crete. Can 10/10 recommend. See you again 🇩🇰

Our stay in Room 32 at the Irida hotel has been an amazing experience. We were welcomed by the staff who were very friendly and helped us carry the stairs up to our room.
Upon reaching our newly renovated open-plan room we were amazed by the luxury and beauty of the room itself, but when we opened the curtains we wished that we could wake up to such a stunning sea view everyday. The view was amazing and we often enjoyed sitting at our balcony on days where the weather was amazing. There was always a nice breeze at our appartment from the sea keeping it cool. We were also very happy with the Airco in the room, as some days were 34 degrees which is very hot, so having a nice and cool room to come home to after a day out on the road was very pleasing.
As for cars, the hotel had enough parking spots which came very much in hand, though do be aware that the people in Crete like to drive like a madman on the road. The location of the hotel is amazing and very centeral on Crete, you can reach most tourist siets within 1 hour drive, 1.5 hours max for the special sites.
The breakfast at the hotel was amazing too, nice variety with different cookies and cakes for everyday as a nice little extra snack.
Shoutout to Stefanos for being an awesome bartender and making fantastic cocktails. Sadly we didn't see him on our last day so here's our goodbye to you.
Overal summed up, the Irida Hotel was an absolute 10/10 for us, we really enjoyed our stay and the staff are amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Check-in: We did check in around 11pm which was late, but we never got told/shown where the amenities were around the hotel, e.g. where breakfast was held, the gym, spa etc. These were all things we had to go to reception and ask about when we needed them.
Room: Studio next to reception. Not sound proof and right next to the road and underneath the restaurant- not the quietest. Room was perfectly clean, the house maids were great. The bed and pillows were not particularly comfortable. The small kitchenette is not well equipped and as we chose to self cater this trip it was a bit disappointing. The assisted fan above the hob had its wire cut and therefore couldn’t be put on, so the studio would get very smokey when cooking. This resulted in us setting off the hotel fire alarm on two occasions. The kitchen utensils were 3 sets of cutlery, one pot and one frying pan. The appliances were a 2 place hob, fridge, microwave, kettle and a coffee machine - you need to pay for more coffee pods after you use your first complimentary 2. This should be complimentary restocked on a daily basis. The sink in the kitchen didn’t produce hot water so we had to fill up the kettle to wash our dishes. The cupboard hiding the fridge wasn’t correctly measured/fitted and would scrape along the floor every time we opened and closed the fridge. We had bought bottles of wine and there was no cork screw to open them in the kitchen so we had to go to the bar and get one, which meant the bar tender had to come down to our room and open them.
Breakfast: Staff were lovely. As a vegetarian I felt like the breakfast wasn’t great, not any cooked food options apart from broccoli and peas (which I don’t particularly like to eat at breakfast time). My husband found the breakfast to be okay as he could have eggs, bacon etc everyday.
Gym: Outdoor gym with some equipment and weights. WiFi doesn’t work there though.
Pool area: the bottom one was very chilled and relaxing.
Spa: It isn’t a spa. It’s a wooden pergola at the top of the hotel with curtains round it and one massage table inside. Spur of the moment I wanted a treatment so I went to reception to ask about availability and was told that the therapist only worked 5/7 days. Luckily myself and my husband booked in for a treatment on our first day and got them on our last day. The therapist was lovely and my massage was really good and relaxing.
Yoga: we assumed yoga would be available every morning, however it was only available on a Tuesday and Friday. This was disappointing but I asked for yoga mats and we done it in our studio every morning.

I warn everyone who comes to this hotel who knew that this hotel is only beautiful but does not respect its guests at all! If I arrive at a room that I paid a lot of money for and a staff member sees that there are suitcases from the previous guests and does nothing with it, it is not service. If we enter the room for the first time and the shampoo and soap dispensers are empty and we ask the reception and nothing happens for half an hour, this is not service. And after I go down to ask for soap to just take a shower and leave the hotel for a walk and the reception staff tells me that there is no one to take care of them at the moment, this is disrespectful to the guest. Only after I demand immediate treatment does she bring me soap and she has no ability to install it in the room, this is not service! If there is a woman's fingernail on one of the surfaces in the room, then the room was not cleaned and I told the staff that too and nothing happened! We were 3 nights and every day we discovered that apart from making the bed they did nothing, they didn't clean the room, it's not service. The hotel is new and very beautiful, but it has no future because of the maintenance and service. You will be very disappointed with the service after paying a lot of money. It's really not a 4 star standard. I have been to Crete many times and every hotel service was better.

Thank you for taking interest in our hotel.
In reply to your inquiry, our hotel is suitable for children and we host a lot of families with children every summer. The hotel extends on different levels so there are stairs to climb if you book a type of room that is on the upper levels.
As regards tne old town, which town are you referring to?
We would suggest you visit the site of our hotel where you will find all the information you may need!
Good Morning! We would like to inform you that we do not have any Russian guests staying at the hotel. The majority of our guests staying at the hotel are Dutch, German, Belgium, Danish, British. We would be more than pleased to welcome you and experience a nice day with us.
