Visited for a 10 days holiday, on a All Inclusive Package. The apartments were nice and fairly new, few small blocks just on a hill looking over a nice beach bay. Tiny pool with a small bar. The whole stay would have been nice if it wasn’t for the Joke of All Inclusive, because very little was included! Beach towel you had to pay €10 deposit plus €1 each time you wanted to change it! Biggest issue was the food: breakfast was ok, bit of continental with enough choice but not great quality. Lunch was a dish of the chef choice, generally left overs from the previous dinner, like it or else! Dinner was even more ridiculous, you had to order a day in advance, generally you had 2 options to chose from for starter/main/deserts; the quality was so poor we were really considering changing the hotel at the second day of our staying! Didn’t do it only because it was privately run and we would have struggle to get any refund by the unfriendly and stingy owner! Resorted to have most lunches elsewhere in the close by village and few times for dinner too. Not once in our stay they had some decent lunch meal as we went to check before going outside to have a proper meal, even if we had to pay; dinner was nice only once when they cooked a baked fish. The funny thing was, where the meal were provided as part of the All Inclusive was a covered terrace that looked as a primary school canteen, also for the taste of the food, none! Just opposite though, was a beautiful bar restaurant Yamas, overlooking the bay, also part of the complex, only you couldn’t use it, unless paying; I could get a free beer in the canteen, but if I wanted to have it in the restaurant I had to pay €5, ridiculous! It was the best spot of Eva Mare! We went once as the owner told us if we weren’t too happy with the food in the canteen we could have a voucher per stay for 50% off the bill in the restaurant, how nice of him! Food in there was much better, nothing superlative but decent quality and service! Wouldn’t have paid the full price though! Agia Pelagia, the village close by had some decent places where to have a nice meal, but also expensive, almost London prices. I was just so irritated that I had to go eat out when I paid for an All Inclusive! I would definitely recommend Everyone to stay away from this place, worst money I have ever spent!! We originally tried to book another hotel, 5 minutes away from Eva Mare, the Peninsula resort, but waited too long and it was fully booked, so we ended up at Eva Mare as it was close by and we liked the area. That one is an hotel to recommend, we visited it as we were curious to see what we missed out on; beautiful place, bar, restaurant, big pool and entertainment space to relax and enjoy. Think it was £100 per person more than Eva, all worthy! Please do no make our same mistake and DO NOT BOOK AT EVA MARE!!

We actally had the funnyest stay in this hotel. i would like to point out a couple of important things: Its far from the city. If you want to enjoy long walks in the city, have parties, or at least see something interesting, it is not a place for you. The town has one street where all the action is happening, but it is 20min walk from the hotel and and it contains 30 resorants at most. So basicaly there is nothing to do there exept sunbathing. The place has a beautifu; nature. About the hotel - the rooms... Most of them are new and pretty, but.... The one we got (the renovated one) had a bathroom and a showet with glass walls in the room - menaing you cam lay in your bed and see your friend sitting on the toilet or showering... it also doesnt lock, but there is no point for that since you can see and hear ecery single thing :D So we asked to change our room. We changed it to an older one, but it had a normal toilet... however we had to cockroaches in our room, the size of our hand. The food was good, the pool was small and there is nohing to do in the hotel.

We had our holiday at Eva Mare in Agia Pelagia, Crete, for 7 days. We had a really good time. The rooms were nice and clean, we could get a lot of information about crete, hiring a car and soms excursions, the restaurant was really good and had a really nice decoration. Also the people were really kind and helpful. Elena, thank you for making our holiday more than just a stay at a hotel. You did an amazing job. Kind regards, Martine and Jelmer
