Very clean rooms with comfort layer, although I have a chronic problem with my back, I slept great. It is just 2 minutes from the beach, however the pool was irresistible!! The hosts were very hospitable and made us feel like home. 5/5

Cute little stylish apartments with a small pool.
The prices are absolutely fair.
The facilities are standard, but you don't miss anything.
The whole complex and the rooms are very clean. The owners are friendly and helpful.
The restaurant in the hotel is also very good.
There is plenty of parking on the street and the beach is within easy walking distance.

Very welcoming hosts and very beautiful and clean place. The pool became our favorite place, but the beach is only a few meters away. Our room was very beautiful and clean, precisely for the photos .I came back with joy!!

the apartments are simple and ok and the views and pool ok ,our main issue is that our room had not been cleaned daily and towels not changed ,our bins had been emptied either. we had to get our rep to get room cleaned. main thing is you have to ask them to clean room, get towels or empty bins this is not what their hotel guide stipulates . they blame covig 19 issues for everything. suggest they tell people on the website and on arrival would stop complaints. breakfast is continental style we ate out in they evening in village as we cautious about eating hot food in hotel . we still enjoyed this area would probably not come back this apartment complex. when we arrived tried to give different room than what we had booked refused it and got what we had booked.

Really enjoyed our recent stay at the Amazona. The apartments are clean and well equipped. Cleaner comes to clean, empty bins and change bedding and towels regularly. The pool area is small but again clean and enough space for the few apartments, during the August peak season we could always get sunbeds. We stayed on a half board basis and food is served in the bar which is run by Felix and his wife Maria. The apartments are run by Maria's father. The service was very personal as some guests are self catering so not many people using the half board service. Maria was a great cook and was always keen to ensure that everyone was happy with the food, going out of her way to please our awkward teenagers. One evening she made meatballs for us with pork but made our them for our girls with chicken as she knew they didn't like pork. She also did us roast chicken, roast potatoes and veg on Sunday as she heard that's what we English like. We had a great variation of dishes including all the greek favourites like beef stifado, mousaka, giros, souvlaki etc. Everything was freshly made and served with none of the usual self service. We had various salads to start (greek, cretan and italian salads) and dessert was usually fruit or delicious ice creams. Breakfast was continental with bread, cheese, ham, salads, greek yoghurt and a selection of jams, butter etc. but occasionally Maria made boiled eggs or pancakes and on Sunday even made us bacon and eggs. The apartments are located just a short walk from the main beach and next door to a shop with other supermarkets very close by. Quite a few steps though so not suitable if you're not able bodied. The main beach is bustling with bars and tavernas all along the beach front and a good choice of watersport, plenty to see with a snorkle and there are some great shops for leather goods, handbags, purses, gifts etc. There are 3 other beaches to visit in small coves but you do have to climb up and down hills to get to them but well worth it. The resort is quite small but was enough for us, wouldn't suit singles but great for families and couples. People of various nationalities holidaying there and popular with the Greek people especially at the weekends.

This is a bottom end hotel but we stayed for a week (couple with 2 kids, 8 and 11) and it was fine. Location is really good: 5 mins nice walk to the beach. Also, it's tucked away, so it's cool and quiet which is a real plus for somewhere near the centre of a small busy resort. The resort is nice, with enough of a village left in it to be OK. It is a really busy beach, 30 mins from Heraklion so the thin, fine-sand, sun-lounge-infested beach fills up, esp on weekends.A real beach scene. But there are a couple of less crowded, really good walkable other lovely swim options and loads more if you have a car. Yes the apartments are old and a bit crummy but if you fish in the bottom of the market you don't catch salmon!

Right from the start you are made to feel welcome by felix and maria and all their family, the rooms have everything you need for your stay, the rooms are cleaned and bedding and towels changed every couple of days. We used the air conditioning which was a blessing at night! it costs 6 euros a day.The view was also excellent in rooms 6 and 7. The food is excellent and served in a very laid back atmosphere, we tried practically everything on the menu during our stay and it was all excellent, there is also a small shop next door which has almost all essentials, this is owned by the family too so very friendly service as well. The pool is clean and very quiet, there was always beds and plenty of space to relax. The apartments are are ideally situated only 5min walk to the beach, were you will find a good selection of bars and restaurants and supermarkets, the beach was very busy while we were there with not a lot of spare sunbeds but if you got up early you could find a great spot, the sea was lovely and clean and calm and shallow enough for our 7 year old nephew to swim happily, a restaurant i would highly recommend was called EDEM, fantastic food lovely owners who really went out there way to make you feel welcome, you will find at it at the end of the beach second to last restaurant, you really get your moneys worth. We hired a car for a week which was 250 euros, which was well worth doing so you can explore the little mountain villages and historic sites and more great beaches. All in all we had a lovely break. Book the AMAZONAS, you will enjoy.

Run by Felix a fantastic host, his English is excellent and as others have said nothing is too much trouble. This is a small family run complex, so far friendier than most.
We were half board- a good Greek style continental breakfast and high quality taverna style dinner -excellent
Our garden facing apartment was huge,, pleasantly furnished, well equipped and everything worked properly and there - highly unusual in Greece. We were given keys to the gates so security was good, but with complete freedom of access.
Everyone has a balcony- everything , including the pool was kept scrupulously clean.
Agia Pelagia beach is a stones throw away as are shops and tavernas. It is narrow and sandy and this and all the local beaches are ideal for snorkelling as the are sheltered with clear water. Agia Pelagia is ideal for a relaxed and relaxing beach holiday.
Do wear insect repellent as the rains have made the spraying for mosquitos less effective.
We would return to Amazonas without hesitation- truly excellent.

Hi
Most of the rooms have mosquito screens over the windows. Tha apartments are a good size but some are in the 2nd floor up stairs. This was an excellent place to stay.
kokkini Hani is a very small village , even in the summer apart from the beach there isn't much to do , however jump on the bus and go into hersonisos as it's not far. it's a lovely town, beachfront with wonderful views and restaurants.
ideal apartments are very helpful, I'm sure whatever you need they will assist you, and their restaurant has beautiful food too , hope you enjoy 😄
There is no car parking for the apartments, but there is a large car park behind the apartments but there is a charge for it about €3 I think. Personally I found no need to drive there as there is a good bus service to Heraklion.
