I found this place while my son and I were driving late through the area and found it via hotels.com. We got there late (after 10:30p) but the owner was incredible helpful, which included an upgrade of our room. It was very clean, with a nice modern bathroom and just had an incredibly quaint feel. Highly recommend if you don’t want to stay at the usual hotel!

This will be a long one and we didn't even stay at the hotel yet (and won't). Last summer we bought tickets to the Women's World Cup final taking place in Lyon this July. It was to be a birthday present for my 7 year-old daughter who is a huge soccer fan and player. We secured a hotel early knowing that the entire region would get very busy due to the World Cup and as it is also summer holiday time. Yesterday the hotel writes to us via the booking platform under the pretext that there was an issue with our payment method. Booking is not pre-paid so no need to process payment now and any deposit should have been done when we booked 10 months ago. So I call them to see what the problem is and if necessary (shouldn't be) give them another credit card number. Then the real issue is revealed. They don't have the room anymore. Apparently they have done renovations and converted the triple room to a double since we booked...really? Seems to be going in the wrong direction to reduce the revenue of a room. When they sent me their long convoluted "explanation" of the situation (I had to call 3 times to get the real story) they attached two photos of the room, supposedly before and after renovation. It was absurd as the only difference was that they had taken out the small bed sofa and replaced it with an arm chair!!!! (see photos - if you can find a difference, I'd love to know). They said they would organize an alternative in the region and sent me a proposal which could be found on any number of booking engines. Thank you for the zero value add. What made matters worse is that I am able to go on another booking engine today and book the same room at Le Petit Casset if I want - but won't as I don't trust the property and of course the price is much higher than when I reserved. Basically, the hotel is trying to get more money for a room by avoiding a reservation made in a timely manner knowing the demand would grow. The management of Le Petit Casset is unprofessional and naive thinking that they could sell their story to an unsuspecting client. Wake up - travelers are savvy and experienced today with many resources available to inform themselves and make smart decisions. And pls don't come with one of your defensive replies as I have addressed the points: - no issue with the payment and another method offered - exact same room available on a booking engine today - alternative lodging was an insult - interacting with 3 different people to get to the bottom of the issue was also completely unnecessary

Mrs, I thought a lot about whether or not to answer your reality show. Then I told myself that a first HORRIBLE after 15 years of existence deserved an answer, especially for the fabric of improbabilities that it contains but also to help you, since you do not seem to understand (or want to understand) the real facts that I explained to you! Actually your reservation was made in July last year in triple superior and the room PRUNUS you was awarded (since at that time it was a triple room). Amount of booking 236 euros !! We do not control the cards, one year before arrival, since usually the customers renew their card in the meantime (different validity date or new card) - On the other hand 2 to 3 months before the arrival, we control the bookings of the following months and more particularly the bank cards to allow the time to the customers to us to communicate others if necessary. When checking your card, our bank rejected the pre-authorization. (I repeat pre-authorization and non-payment!) Sandrine has immediately contacted you via expedia as it happens often because many customers give false numbers not to engage in the event of cancellation out of time. You contacted me personally by phone and I replied that I was going to see with Sandrine the next morning and that in the meantime you could change your booking via expedia and control the number that was recorded. (Or put a new card)! The next morning, Sandrine explained to me the problem with your credit card and I discovered (what she had not seen) that you were in the room PRUNUS which has been transformed into a superior double room since the 24th January 2019. I said transformed and never said renovated !! Indeed, I renovated two executive double rooms (more spacious) in which I put the sofa of the room PRUNUS to turn them into a triple room, more comfortable for families, given the larger area - Sandrine comes to return from a 6-month long illness and was unaware of the change. In place of the sofa, I put a small chair and for more transparency, I sent you the picture of last year and the new picture this year, with the chair that was made by a photographer in February. While you may think I had fun moving a sofa over 500kg to put a 40 kg chair and make a photo of a photographer! We swim in full delirium !! Maybe you want to send the bill of the photographer plus his certificate on honor? Finally, not wishing to leave you in the embarrassment, I booked a family room of 25m2 in a 4-star hotel (5 minutes from our hotel and therefore closer to the Stade Lyonnais) with whom I negotiated a price at 178 € !!! So in the end, you earn a star and a saving of 60 euros. In addition I am committed in the event of cancellation of a triple room with us, to contact you as soon as possible and to offer it at the same price! So I'm glad you did not want to come to our hotel because after knowing this fabric of lies, I never wanted to welcome you! I have been doing this job for 30 years and I still have so much pleasure to welcome my clients with the greatest respect and the greatest honesty! On the other hand, there are sometimes small mistakes that we try to correct without affecting our customers! But I will never tolerate and anyone else that I'm treated as a liar !! Finally, if you have time to spare, take a look at our site www.lepetitcasset.fr and look at the photos of our triple executive room and you can find the sofa of the room PRUNUS. All our rooms have a different decoration with different colors - the sofas are all different but the layout is identical in each category. (Only the photo of the triple superior room is old with the sofa because we have not redone another photo of triple superior and the colors of red make good on our site) And if you have even more time to lose, you can even go out and ask to see the PRUNUS room and find it as it is with an armchair. PS: I do not know if you had or not meanwhile change your credit card on the expedia site! This information is always active, as your reservation and therefore available to anyone expedia. I hope you have taken a real pleasure in transforming the real facts and leave your mark on this site

Lovely quiet small hotel with excellent breakfast. Handy to St Exupery Airport and the city of Lyon. Reception provided good information on local areas. Stairs make carrying heavy suitcases up to upper rooms a bit difficult.

Dear clients, We are delighted that you enjoyed our hotel and the services offered. You had to stay in a comfort room which is located upstairs with a few steps. We usually help all our customers with their luggage, which is rare in our region. We are sorry that our receptionist did not help you and apologize. Executive and superior rooms are located on the ground floor with private terrace and direct access to the pool. Feel free to come back in the spring to enjoy our heated pool from April to October. We are the only hotel in the Montluel region, La Boisse, Beynost, Jons, to offer a heated pool. Best regards Patrick SAJET

We found this lovely little hotel on the internet but decided to visit before committing. Glad we did, as the host Patrick was terrific, funny, engaging and very helpful. The hotel was very good considering the price, beaut pool, and gardens. Patrick helped with directions to Pérouges and also a couple of recommendations for dinner there, which we took up. Very enjoyable stay. Thanks Patrick & staff. Peter & Deb😁👍

Dear Deb and Peter, It was a real pleasure to welcome you to our humble hôtel. I always try to welcome my guests in joy and good humor, with a touch of humor because it is important that our guests feel at home. I am delighted that you enjoyed our hotel and the services offered. It is quite normal that we advise our guests on nearby restaurants or everything they want ! We do a service job and it is the basis of our work. This is unfortunately not always the case in the French hotel business, but for us it is essential! It will be a pleasure to see you again in the future. Best regards Patrick SAJET
