We visited this area to attend a summer wedding in Kassis. We are pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and rustic ambience of this place. The breakfast was amazing; simple basic food with the freshest & best ingredients. Located up in the small hill & plenty of cafes, boutiques and lovely neighbourhood around. Definitely French!

Wonderful meal taken in the beautiful surroundings of the french countryside. We ate in the Bistrot a small but delcately chosen menu. The service was impeccable, extreamly kind and helpful. We also visited the gardens of 'the Bastide',which we thoroughly enjoyed walking through , enjoying the natural perfume of the flowers and plants (many of which we had seen on our plates... More

I came to the Hostellerie Berard to participate in a 4 days cooking course with Michelin chef René Berard. The cooking course takes place in a true paradise and Chef Berard passes on his passion, love and knowledge for the local cuisine with humor and kindness. The dishes are both delectable and beautiful. The downside of the course is the... More

Dear Nathalie, We read your comments attentively and, as you know, discussed them at length at a meeting in the Hostellerie lounge. I thanked you at the time for agreeing to discuss face to face rather than writing via Trip Advisor. Apparently you decided to write a review on the website anyway, but of course that is your right. At the end of July we stayed 5 lovely days at Hotel Berard and it was such a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in the center of a very small village La Cardiere d'Azur a the cozy and laid-back atmosphere of the village and area as a general is in a way reflected in the hotel as well. As... More

We selected their Romance, Gastronomy and Zen 3 weekend nights package - 1,232 euros. Our greatest disappointments were in the cuisine and lack of customer service. Three dinners, two in their Gastonomique restaurant and one in their Bistrot. Berard sent us a detailed email on the components of their package but no mention of certain key, decision altering restrictions: 1).... More

The Hostellerie is situated in one of the beautiful medieval cities of the South of France but their "Reputation" belies the reality of the state of the hotel. The Internet was in existent despite their assurances. The full day (2 nights) we were there, our room was not cleaned, beds weren't made- something I have never encountered. The sofa bed... More

A very expensive mistake on our part with too much emphasis on how wonderful they are - what a lavish glossy brochure - and not enough about serving their customers. No instructions about the parking arrangements or a warning that you arrive at the front door in a narrow one way street with very limited room to stop followed by... More

Really amazing food. The service was exceptional. I think it is without a doubt a place where you could enjoy a romantic dinner. The food was some of the best I have had, well worth a visit. Life is short, enjoy a treat once in a while. You wont be disappointed. The location is perfect.

First read reviews about Hostellerie Berard 10 years ago and finally made it in summer 2015. A cluster of buildings make up the Hotel and heading in and out is a wonderful journey of discovery in itself. We had a corner room, (perhaps a little tired at the time of staying but utterly charming and very well maintained) overlooking the... More

The place is very nice and extremly pleasant and the food is delicious. We did a 4 day cooking course and M. Bérard is a grant person! Phantastic watching his skill and his passion which is reflected in the "Bastide". The art of spice in Provence what a living. The pool is small but does not need more. The focus... More
