Conques is microscopic and if you decide to stay in town, this is probably the best option. Rooms are relatively spacious and very clean. Showers work great with good pressure and plenty of hot water. With a little more investment, this hotel would be perfect - the showers could use an upgrade since there is no shower curtain or "box"... More

This centrally located inn could not be more convenient for an overnight stay on the pilgrim route. Arriving around lunchtime we were able to leave our rucksacks and boots while exploring the town, with our luggage transfer arriving mid- afternoon. The town is well worth exploring, with its beautiful abbey and other ancient buildings, flower filled streets and art &... More

l is reasonably priced, very convenient and acceptably comfortable. Our room had great views over the roofs opposite into the surrounding country where changing clouds and light were fascinating to watch. The only downside is that some tourists leave early to get on their journey home at completion of their pilgrimage walk and they can be noisy early in the... More

The hotel is located right across from the 11th-century Romanesque church, and in fact, my 4th floor room had a steeple view. Others have mentioned its great location. I actually didn't see any other open hotel in the central area. The associated bar and restaurant appear to be the hub of the town. Like many visitors to Conques, I was... More

The Auberge couldn't be better located. The stairs are quite steep and the rooms are very small. The food is fine, but nothing to write home about. The staff is impersonal. Conques is a spectacularly beautiful place. Several years ago we stayed at the Beau Rivage camp ground, which I actually enjoyed quite a bit more -- although it is... More

We visited this hotel on day 10 of our Santiago Compostela pilgrim walk. We were able to check in at 3.00 pm only although we arrived at 1.30pm seemed odd as it wasn't busy. Reception though was friendly and assisted us with luggage up the stairs. The pilgrim meal over delivered and we were considering upgrading but not necessary, priced... More

Conques is one of those villages that defy belief, both in its age and its preservation. Set on the GR64 and GR65 (which, if you don't know, are ancient trails that criss-cross France and are pilgrimage routes for the most part; these two take you to Santiago de Campostella in Spain), pilgrims come here to pay hommage to the relics... It was a great finding in this nice little town. The very good food, great cuisine, great service in a reasonable price; for the quality of the overall service even cheap. I took the pilgrim menu that include a wonderful aligot. It is a must go.

We did not stay at Saint Jacques but we did have lunch. It was quite busy in the restaurant and there were few non french as far as we could tell (save the odd pilgrim). We just took the set menu which was very reasonable, had local dishes and they were good portions and quite tasty. Nothing painful about the... More

We stayed for one night in this hotel right in the centre of Conques. Ignore review which says don't eat in the restaurant, it couldn't have been more professional, was full of French people enjoying their evening meal and the food was excellent. The room was very comfortable and overlooked the Abbaye with it's famous windows by Pierre Soulages and... More
