Rob was an excellent guide to hiking the Pyrenees. His knowledge of everything from geology ( his forte) to history, plant and wildlife was impressive and kept the conversation alive throughout the day. He was also very good at fitting in with the range of people on the walk, finding topics of interest with everyone. Our base, Les Cailloux was modern,...

After an excellent and warm welcome by Rob, the owner, we started our week in the Pyrenees. Most of the days had organised events for us all to take part in and I have to say these were excellent. On the first day we caved and rafted - our guides, Pierre (x2) were superb - caves were breath taking and...

Our first trip to the Pyrenees and we will be back. Rob and Emma were excellent guides and arranged some challenging walks in areas we we would not have found ourselves. Their knowledge of the flora and fauna along with the geography and geology made each day fascinating and the scenery was outstanding made even better by the routes they...

Hiking with Rob from MountainBug was fabulous; his knowledge of the local history, architecture, flora and wildlife is first class, as are the walks he guides. Chalet hosts Helen and Gary are warm and welcoming and between them they conjure up excellent meals. The chalet is extremely functional, rooms are a good size and it is very clean and comfortable....

Guided walking holiday was fabulous. Rob is a fantastic guide and took us to some wonderful places such as the Cirque de Garvanie, Cirque de Toumouse and Lac Gaube at Cauterets. The chalet was extremely comfortable with large rooms, comfy lounge and deck areas, and excellent hosts Gary and Helen. The meals they cooked were outstanding and possibly the best...

Did the Level 2 walking tour June 11-18/2016. Everything was fabulous. The walks are really magnificent, it was early in the season and a little on the chilly side, perfect walking weather. The wild flowers were in full bloom. Rob, owner and guide, is very knowledgeable about the nature and history on the area. He set a good pace that...

We enjoyed an excellent week here in March. The chalet staff Gary and Helen and then Rob and Emma looked after us very well. There was lots of very good, imaginatively prepared and tasty food. Unlike most guests who stay here, we did not book any guided tours with Rob but they do sound very good. We skied independently and...

To stay at Chalet Les Cailloux is an absolute steal. Tucked away in a beautiful old French village in the Pyrenees, the chalet oozes with class and charm, yet at a remarkably affordable price! In fact, I'd got as far to say that its like receiving 5 star treatment for 3 star prices. Helen and Gary, our hosts for the...

Booked a holiday fairly last minute with Mountainbug and Rob and Emma dealt with everything promptly and provided lots of practical information of how to get to Les Cailloux. The chalet is situated in the village of Bareges which is just below the Col du Tourmalet. Stayed there for 6 nights and had a great time on the guided walks...

We spent a week at Mountain Bug with our three teenagers. Everyone loved it. The chalet is so welcoming and comfortable. The cuisine is world class and abundant. Gary's creme brûlée is off the charts. We spent three days on a backcountry trek with Rob. What an adventure. Rob loves showing off the spectacular Pyrenees. He is incredibly knowledgeable and...
