We stayed at this hotel, two nights,14&15 th May 2022. Two lovely rooms, clean and comfortable with great shower. A really warm welcome, gorgeous breakfast. A really good start to 6 day walking trip Mary, Catherine &Tim.
The hotel is well situated near the main thoroughfare of Corte. You enter through a old door in a traditional building which doesn’t look very promising at first. Then the facilities are mostly on the 2nd floor. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. In terms of my room, it was quite spacious with a fairly modern bathroom. However, please note that if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the hotel for you. Sound proofing is appalling between rooms and the corridor. I could hear neighbours very clearly and also the slamming of doors. If you’re in the breakfast room you can hear stomping upstairs. Not what you’d expect for a hotel at this price. Breakfast was quite good and at €7, good value.
Very charming, "old-world" hotel with friendly staff and in a great location (very central in Corte with lots of restaurants and cafes right around the corner). We really loved this hotel. It has a lovely old-fashioned feel, it's quite worn but very charming. The breakfast room is nice and cosy. I think that we were lucky with the room (room 109). We spoke to other guests whose rooms were small and without much light, but ours was at the back of the hotel, facing south, and with a balcony with two chairs and a small table so that we – even in the month of October – could enjoy the sun and a cup of coffee (electric kettle is provided) in the afternoon. The bathroom is small but OK. So if you're staying here, ask for a room with a balcony facing south (at the back of the hotel). The WiFi codes we were given worked for one device each but we could get as many codes as we asked for (computer, two phones). The walls are quite thin so that may be a problem for some people. It didn't bother us. We'd love to stay there again.…
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for three nights. A very pleasant surprise - it had everything we expected. It was quiet, clean, centrally located, offered very nice breakfast and staff was also very nice. Besides it had an aura of history - the building itself was old with high ceilings, ample entrance hall, well worn stairs. We loved it.
This is an older hotel right in Corte . They have no elevator and reception is on the second floor . You can park on the street if you find a spot otherwise there is paid parking . You can get a better rate if you book directly. Breakfast is ok .
The hotel is central, just off the Main street, in a quiet tree lined street with beautiful old buildings. The women who run the hotel are all charming, gracious and helpful. They were very patient with my struggling French and one spoke perfect English. The rooms have been modernised and and ours was clean and fresh and very appealing. We had chosen a room with a small balcony which added to the charm. The king bed was comfortable. Bathroom and bedroom had sufficient space for us and our large bags. Quiet, efficient air conditioner but hardly needed as there was fresh air from the large double doors to the balcony. Tea making facility was a good addition. Plenty of power points, good hot water in the shower and the sound proofing worked well as, at night, we heard no noise from outside the hotel or inside. The breakfast room is attractive and breakfast included ham, cheese, cereal, yoghurt, home made cake, croissants and pain au chocolate- all good quality. There is obvious care and attention to detail in the hotel. The hotel was able to recommend restaurants and organise bookings. Both restaurants were excellent. They also organised our taxi to the start of the Restonica trail for our day’s hike. The hotel also has a navette for picking up guests from the station, on request, but we chose to walk. It was a 15 minute walk down to the station with bags but longer on arrival as it was uphill. I would certainly recommend this hotel for its welcoming, helpful staff, appealing rooms, good breakfast and central location. …
Stayed 2 nights in May. Room was small and a little tatty. However the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Hotel is near to the centre. There is no hotel parking available despite it being advertised as such.
The friendly staff provided great advice, helped arrange trip to Restonica valley. The room was pleasant, separate toilet is good, tea/coffee making facilities appreciated. Breakfast was varied and good quality. Location in town very good, just off main road, close to everything.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at this hotel. It is a beautiful old building right in the heart of Corte and yet – thanks to the impressive shutters on the windows – very peaceful indeed. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, the staff go out on a limb to help and advise; they are friendly without being intrusive. Our room was small but perfectly formed, with everything we needed for a very comfortable experience. The breakfast was of high quality – fresh, varied and tasty. The overall cost was very reasonable and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
We had a comfortable stay as the first part of a hiking trip. The room was comfortable, breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly, helping us book dinner. We had a nice view out the back.
