The Aminess Grand Azur Hotel is in a fabulous location. Very unusually having booked a single room I had a lovely view with a balcony. Usually single travellers get the worst views but I was treated to a stunning view of the surrounding islands. Big plus. The hotel was spotless. I couldn’t fault the cleanliness in any area. Buffet breakfast but the variety was outstanding. Unlimited fresh fruit on offer and there wasn’t much you could ask for in a breakfast that wasn’t available. Marmite possibly for me ! The selection of bread was outstanding. So why have I given this hotel a fairly low score? My room was tiny. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and sorry if this is a UK thing but I expect this in a 4* establishment. There was also only one useable electric plug point. In such a rated establishment I also expect to be served an evening meal! I do not want buffet food , luke warm even if there is a good variety of food . Quite frankly I survived on soup and salad in the evening and why was no tea or coffee available? However on a plus note the lovely gent who handed out towels was a real gem . Smiling helpful and charming. A real plus for this hotel and I would also recommend using the services of the fabulous Christina to book tours in the lobby . Very helpful. Will I return? Definitely not unfortunately. Great location but this hotel would need quite some tweaking to meet my expectations of a 4* rating

I've given this hotel a poor rating as I was disappointed. I was aware it was an All Inclusive "Lite" but I thought it unfair of the hotel to use the phrase All Inclusive, it's misleading. It is in fact a Full Board with free unbranded soft drinks, beer and wine(which is really nice) only at certain times for lunch and dinner. You could not get tea or coffee at any other time of day other than breakfast and there were no coffee making facilities in the rooms. The food was ok, nice salads but the hot food was mostly the same each meal, there's only so many ways you can disguise a Beef Goulash! There weren't any themed nights for food or anything to look forward to! The staff were efficient but unfriendly, it felt like they were scared to make eye contact or chat. The room was very dated and very tired looking, the beds were hard and it was extremely small and cramped which wouldn't have been so bad if the weather had been nice, but it rained the whole 5 days we were there, so after a few days the room began to feel claustrophobic. There were no English channels that we could find on the TV. There was nothing else to do in the hotel, (apart from a small gym with no natural light) no games, entertainment and there was nothing open nearby as it was out of season. I believe the hotel closes for the winter, but it was disappointing and extremely boring in bad weather. The outside space looked nice, a decent pool and plenty of sun loungers.

Positives...Great variety of food choices, well run. Friendly helpfull staff, Receptionist are very professional. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean, Comfy bed, room is basic but pleanty of storage space. Hotel is in a beautiful location. Negatives...only one English speaking TV channel, Maybe it was because it was the end of the season but in 5 nights, there was only evening entertainment once. It rained every day and 2 of those days it was torrential (not the hotels fault 🤣🤣) but there was nothing to do in the hotel reception area...not even any piped music so people were sitting around staring at each other. Tea and coffee only available at breakfast, you needed to order and pay at the bar any other time.... the coffee was not good. These are not major problems and I would 100% recommend

5 star for location, perfect spot by the sea and amazing views. Very clean hotel but I wouldn’t rate it 4 star due to a few things . Rooms a little dated, no tea or coffee in room, only one pillow no option for extra, shower small and not very powerful , but still a clean & comfortable room. I’m a vegetarian so I can only comment on my food taste. Plenty of salad, fruit & grilled veg all very nice but all pasta dishes had meat or fish in it same with risotto. We had half board + we got wine & beer with meal wasn’t too bad . The good thing was if you wanted to skip evening meal you could have lunch instead . Drinks in bar where plentiful and good prices . Bar staff very friendly & helpful . Front desk staff not so happy & not too helpful when we wanted to get to Dubrovnik. We loved Orebic , I would recommend trying some restaurants, hiring bikes & exploring surrounding villages. The stay was very pleasant i loved it more for location .
