Our room has a lovely balcony and park view. This was great because it provided a lovely shade and the room was never hot (although outside temperature often reached 30 degrees Celsius). The airconditioning also worked very well. The hotel is surrounded by a large park and is great if you want to have a quiet sleep (as opposed to some other hotels, which were located 0.5 miles away on the busy sea promenade).
Despite at the hight of the season, the hotel did not feel "full" and every guest could enjoy their own space. Breakfast and dinner were provided in a buffet style and the food was always fresh. I would give the food a 4.5 star rating (5 being the best). Food was always fresh and very well prepared. The pool area was also great, with ample deckchairs and umbrellas.
There is also a possiblle near by daily boat service going to the Island Korcula, from the pier outside the hotel. At the beach area you can also rent sea kayaks and paddle boats. Other organized trips are offered by different agencies (buggy tour of Korcula, diving, cycling, hiking, etc), ask at the reception for details.
Overall, the experience we had in Orebic and at the Grand Hotel Orebic exceeded all our expectations and we had such a great time. Definitely a good value resort which has a lot to offer in terms of the diversity of activities and scenery. If you a looking for an active holiday this is definitely a place for you
We stayed B&B but had a couple of evening meals at the hotel and only had to pay for myself.
All staff wore masks but it wasn't compulsory for the guests to wear them although around the hotel we tended to.
Hand sanitiser was placed at all entrances/exits, lifts and the restaurant but this wasn't monitored at the restaurant but I feel it should be.
There isn't enough sunbeds by the pool and surrounding sun decks. Guests put their towels on the sunbed and go and leave them for hours on end. This should be stopped, if a towel has been on the bed for more than an hour and a half someone at the hotel should remove the towels to allow other guests using the pool to use the beds. There didn't seem to be any consideration.
All in all we had a great time, I would return but maybe book a room with a balcony.
Thank you to all the staff and entertainment crew...fab.
The hotel food was of a very good standard and there were plenty of options available to cater for everyone. We were only half board plus with TUI but the staff allowed us to swap evening meals for lunch which was a nice gesture as we wanted to eat out some nights. The food didn’t change too often so it could get repetitive for some, but again plenty of choice. Good restaurant options in Orebic/Korcula too.
Our room was lovely and very clean and we enjoyed the beautiful views of the ocean and nearby islands. The cleaning staff were lovely and do an amazing job! No complaints about the cleanliness or state of the hotel.
The pool and sun bathing area has plenty of room and is a pleasant place to sunbathe. The pool is also quite large and very clean, and we enjoyed spending time at the beach too which is a great option to have if you get bored of the pool. The only down side is that as the beach is a public one, local kids often tend to sneak their way into the pool which is for guests only. This then made the pool a lot busier than it should have been. However… it did not ruin or detract our attention from enjoying our holiday. The staff were aware of this and hopefully they will implement a solution to stop it. The gate to the pool area did not lock/unlock with our room cards as the device was not working, so perhaps this will be fixed soon. The staff also deserve a huge mention as they are incredibly kind, helpful and hard working. Nothing was too much trouble and they provided excellent entertainment for both adults and kids.
Overall we had a pleasant stay at this resort and will happily return in the future.
PRO:
*the pool is kept clean all the time
*the rooms are very comfortable with modern design
*the staff is very friendly and they do speak english (not like all the other Croatioans I've been interacting with)
*Billy (the guy from animation) is one of the best animator I`ve ever met in my holidays. He always gathered us for pool games, volleybal and he knew how to change the mood of everyone there. Congrats Billy, btw use less steroids bro.
CONS:
*there are no drinks/snacks between meals (I was used to Turkish All Inclusive)
*the housekeeper didn`t replace the towels only if we called
*the food is not so diverse (I`ve been eating Gulas for 3 days out of 7)
*the drinks in the restaurant were awful (no coca-cola, no pepsi, nothing commercial, I drank water 7 days out of 7)
Overall, after I spent 5 summers in Turkey, I decided to give Croatia a try, but Turkey is waaaaaaay better. Hope this feedbacks helps.
Kind regards,
Marius
The hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere promoted by the polite professional friendly staff.
My room was a double fronted with wall to wall window views and balcony. . It was very comfortable and very spacious. The whole hotel was spotless and smelt so fresh. The food was a large buffet style with many different dishes dalmatian and European. Good choices and lots of local wines and beer.cleanliness and hygiene was carefully cultivated and practised by all.
Entertainment was aided by the huge personality of crazy nick whose real job was looking after the bar.. one evening we had the pleasure of listening to a male whose vocal range was a gift.
Indoor and outdoor activities were plenty as well as sunbathing and swimming both in the pool and sea.
My husband and I ended our week with a great massage if I'd known it was going to be so good I would have had more. We had many a pleasant walk both on the flat and uphill to a nearby monastery.
We arrived home today after a truly great holiday we will visit again. Thanks to the staff.
We were directed to the dining hall and had a lovely lunch.
The food was fresh and there was lots of choice both hot and cold.
There were also plenty of tables to choose from and the room was light and airy with outside balconies also available for outside dining.
Following lunch we checked in and our room was clean with fresh linen on the bed and nicely furnished
The room had a fridge but no kettle
We took a travel kettle so that we could have an early morning coffee in our room
During the holiday staff were helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and offered info about different trips etc , just really helpful
We enjoyed light all inclusive meals with lots of variety of tasty food lovely cakes and also ice cream drinks included at meal times and also a packed meal for our journey to the airport as we were leaving at 6am for our transfer.
Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels left or the option not to be disturbed if you so wished
I would just like to thank all of the staff for making our holiday a very pleasant stay
