Clean and quiet hotel in the city center. Breakfast was delicious and evening bar staff very helpful in getting us ice and glasses for our room. The town is very quiet this time of year with little to do. Loved this hotel - great price!!!
First the good: this hotel is located right in the main square, and it has a lift and a good breakfast. Now the not so good: the restaurant no longer offers meals (other than breakfast), and the standard rooms have basic furnishings with flat, lumpy pillows. Although we were disappointed compared to other four star hotels we have stayed at in the Czech Republic, the reasonable rate and air conditioning helped offset some of the deficiencies.
This small fancy hotel is located in the main market square of Kromeriz - all the tourist attractions are within a short walk (some of them you can see from your window, if you get a front room). If you are too lazy to walk anywhere, there is a restaurant on the ground floor (if you miss dinner there, you will be served breakfast anyway). The rooms are nicely furnished, the bathroom is surprisingly large, everything is just as it should be to give you a moment of rest.
As others have said this hotel is exceptionally well position on the main square. Check in was fine and room was clean. Bathroom nice with a good shower. My only issue was that as the weather was very warm the aircon needed to work. It did but wasn't man enough for the job. However as I had a room at the rear I could open the windows, thank goodness for earplugs which hushed the tolling church bells. Although the rear rooms have a poor outlook for some reason the room I had has opaque glass. Odd. Breakfast was excellent and enjoyed on the front terrace.
This hotel was absolutely lovely. Situated in the picturesque main square you literally gasp if your room is one of those that face this square. We had one of the larger rooms and I was delighted with the expanse of space we had. The bathroom had both a shower and tub. It was amazing! The problem was comfort. The beds were lumpy and hard. The pillows were worse, much like a loose bag of various shapes of wadded up filling. You simply could not find a adequately cushioned spot to lay your head. Perhaps other rooms have updated bedding. Ours did not. It was also very hot on the day we arrived and being that there is no a/c in the hotel, it was quite warm in the room. It was cooler in the evening, however, we're not used to the street sounds of voices and motor bikes so having the windows opened came at a price. Bring your earplugs if you come in the summer. I thought the breakfast was fine -- just stay away from the juice machine. This was a nice stop for us as we were making our way from Prague to Krakow and I must be honest that I was relieved it was only for one night. I imagine staying here in a cooler month would be quite lovely, granted you bring comfy pillows from home! …
The hotel is located in the central square facing the castle You can park in front and have free ticket from the reception The room is spacious and nice the breakfast is tasty and the service is great
We had a cheaper room out the back. We usually travel quite cheap but this was a real hotel with soap and shampoo and everything! The room was very nice as was the hotel. The restaurant did an exceptional dinner. The town is quiet and peaceful, on a Sunday anyway, and is the opposite of Prague. My only criticism is that the elevator area and hallways are tiled and every footstep, key being turned or door closing seems amplified. It is really quite noisy. It needs carpeting. Harder to clean but happier guests.
Well, the hotel is located centrally at the historic market place and in the middle of Kromeriz. The staff speaks English and is really friendly. Our room was cosy and very quiet at night. The room was clean, unfortunately the mattress is a bit too hard. The pillows are perfect. We were positive surprised by the breakfast. The dinner was excellent (steak), the rabbit a bit overcooked but still okay. The service could have been a bit more attentive. They weren't seen for a while, so the used plates remained on the table and no chance to order a desert or more drinks. Anyway, a really nice and cosy hotel with a prefect price/value ratio and definitely worth to stay.
My wife and I stayed at La Fresca for 8 nights in January, and we loved it and the staff - very friendly and helpful people. Our room (204) was spacious comfortable, and overlooked the main square; it had arguably the best hotel bathroom I have ever had. Heated floors and towel rack, separate tub and shower with copious amounts of hot water and water pressure, and lots of room to place one's toiletries. A good breakfast is included with something for everyone; I most appreciated the corn flakes and strawberries as well as the scrambled eggs. We also had three very good dinners there, and the restaurant is popular with locals. When Michal and Zuzana (the couple that run La Fresca) knew we had to leave very early on the day of our departure, waiting for us at the door were bags with wonderful croissants, sandwiches and water. The evening before they had also given us a gift that included a bottle of local sparking wine and a bottle of local beer. I suspect that Kromeriz is bustling in the summer. If visiting then, you might consider an interior room for the quiet, but you will sacrifice the view. There are at least four hotels on the main square, but La Fresca is the only one I would consider should I return to the area. With the strength of the US dollar, La Fresca (all of the Czech Republic) is remarkably inexpensive. Zuzana, Michal and team: Thank you for having made our stay so enjoyable.…
The location, overlooking main square, and just a 2-minute walk from the Archbishop's Palace, is excellent. Parking in front of the hotel is included. The breakfast was also included and was plentiful. Our room, with a view of the square, was spacious and clean.
