It’s generally just average and disappointing by normal Turkish standards. Staff are friendly but food is average, entertainment is poor, sun beds are difficult and queuing for food not a great experience - disappointed to be honest. Plenty of local shops to explore, so that’s a bonus.
This is a nice hotel! Even though we came very late as we had a night flight the welcome was good and they settled us quickly . They gave us information about food which opened till 5am. I was really impressed with the service. The cleaner on the 2nd flour (room224) in particular was really nice and very helpful. The food was ok as the hotel is trying to cater for people from all over Europe!
The hotel was very clean and the facilities were regularly cleaned and looked after, the rooms were cleaned every day. The swimming pools -great , the beach very close. Friendly and polite staff. The view from the balconie was very nice. Great variety of freshly cooked food to suit every taste. The old town of Sozopol is aprx 15-20 min walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel
We loved the place. It is very clean and well maintained. The garden and the swimming pools are great. We were very impressed by the food, as we were having half-board arrangement. I thought that the quality of the food was above what you could have in other hotels. The service was very nice, and all of the staff were smiling and made us feel welcome. Our little Olivia was delighted by the stay. The restaurant at lunch time was also excellent. Rooms are very clean and modern and very comfortable. Balconies are also big and offer nice views. There is free parking. The fancy Bamboo beach is just across a wooden passage, 50 meters away. It is very popular, so not always easy to get a nice sun bed. Overall, the place is great and we spent excellent holidays there.
Initial thoughts were, oops, too far from town. However, the half mile walk each way was a great tonic after eating and drinking. Lovely clean hotel, friendly staff, food a bit bland but we didn't starve. Go abroad and you should expect changes to diet! Would definitely come here again.
Wow just wow I enjoyed everything in this hotel it is sea front the room was very clean a little bit small room but it was ok breakfast was delicious and very nice beach is very nice and clean I recommend this hotel for summer vacation it is near to the station, center and all markets
I recently returned from Selena beach as a solo traveler I stayed for 7 nights I found the hotel to be nice and comfortable smooth checking in with a tour of the property and a welcome drink on my arrival I was shown to my room for inspection to see if I liked it and yes I did i was left a complimentary bottle of wine and a lovely plate of fresh fruit this was a nice welcoming touch the room was large plenty of space overlooking the pool and sea the beds was clean and comfortable nice bathroom with great hot shower tv and fridge and kettle also in the room airconditiner worked efficiently the hotel and grounds was impeccably clean and daily cleaning of the room provided nice balcony to sit out on and lots of outside seating areas around the pool with free comfortable sun loungers easy access to bamboo beach was just outside the back of the hotel the restaurant was clean and relaxing with bar service and half board with small selection of available local dish’s fruits and deserts etc the only problem I found the food wasn’t as hot as it should be and only lukewarm however it was brought to management attention from other complaining guests and it was quickly sorted the salads and ice cream is delicious the staff at reception was kind and helpful essentially Christina who went above and beyond to make my stay a comfortable one the local area of sozopol is extremely quiet this time of year with a lot of restaurants closed down but worth a trip to bourgas on the bus where everything is open the green train stops near to the hotel to take you into old sozopol town the boutique wine tasting shop is also worth a visit across the road is cherry tree shop and cafe you can sit outside and enjoy a delicious frappe and cheesecake or a cold beer they sell groceries and snacks and lots of things Lidl supermarket is also very close to the hotel with a bakery my reflection of selina beach was a good one I felt safe and comfortable Thankyou.…
You need to revise your star rating to 2. As the food was the worse we have ever had cold reheated from lunch time no fresh veg.Our mattresses were thin with the springs close to the surface,Sun beds torn and tatty. The best thing was the cleanliness and the friendly staff.
Had booked a couple of nights at the Selena on a B & B basis, cost me £60.00 so was not expecting much, however, I was most pleasantly surprised. One of the main reasons I chose the hotel was because it offered free parking and was within walking distance of the main town. (Had not realized there was also a street train service with drop off/pick up points right outside the hotel, which was very handy!) On arrival, we were given a very informative show-around of the hotel and received free welcome drinks which was most unexpected! Our room was situated in the newer part of the hotel and being on a corner we were lucky enough to have sea views from two sides. The room was spotlessly clean and well-appointed with air-con, a fridge and a kettle. A buffet-style breakfast was provided and I found it offered a pretty good choice of both hot and cold food items. Unfortunately, there was only one toaster available and, as the hotel was rather busy there was a constant queue of guests waiting for toast. Other than breakfast we did not eat at the hotel however, I did note that they offered a lunchtime special with a choice of 3 x courses plus a glass of wine for only 10 leva per head! Overall, both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our short break at the Selena and will definitely be returning for a couple of nights again next year. Positives include:- Free parking, less than five minutes walk to the beach, quiet location but within easy walking distance of the town with a Lidl just around the corner. Spotlessly clean throughout, room serviced each day, we received welcome drinks on arrival and staff could speak English. Oh, they also had a happy hour on cocktails! Negatives:- Service in the restaurant and bar was very slow, particularly when ordering those happy hour cocktails!…
Previous reviews mention the friendly staff, I think they were all absent last week. I didn’t see one smile from any of them. That included serving locals as well as tourists. We were told there would be a room available for a shower before our flight. On returning to hotel in the late afternoon we were told we had to wait. I went to reception several times but eventually gave up. It seemed too much trouble. Food was ok but never hot. Chips, pasta dishes, broccoli in cheese sauce were not even kept on the hot counter. We changed rooms as our promised sea view room was a glimpse of the sea from the balcony. We asked on arrival if this was actually a sea view room and was assured by the receptionist that it was. Thank you to our Tui rep for speaking to hotel the following day and getting us moved. We had a good holiday but I feel previous reviews made the hotel sound better than I felt it deserved.…
