This is a nice hotel! Even though we came very late as we had a night flight the welcome was good and they settled us quickly . They gave us information about food which opened till 5am. I was really impressed with the service. The cleaner on the 2nd flour (room224) in particular was really nice and very helpful. The food was ok as the hotel is trying to cater for people from all over Europe!

We loved the place. It is very clean and well maintained. The garden and the swimming pools are great. We were very impressed by the food, as we were having half-board arrangement. I thought that the quality of the food was above what you could have in other hotels. The service was very nice, and all of the staff were smiling and made us feel welcome. Our little Olivia was delighted by the stay. The restaurant at lunch time was also excellent. Rooms are very clean and modern and very comfortable. Balconies are also big and offer nice views. There is free parking. The fancy Bamboo beach is just across a wooden passage, 50 meters away. It is very popular, so not always easy to get a nice sun bed. Overall, the place is great and we spent excellent holidays there.

Selena beach hotel is situated just outside of Sozopol centre. It is only 50 metres from a beautiful beach called Bamboo beach. If the beach is not your thing then there are 2 swimming pools to choose from. One is family orientated with a small kids pool and a playground next to it. The other swimming pool is suited for adults with a jacuzzi/massage area and also seating within the pool itself. The studio apartment is spacious and decorated beautifully with a very modern look and feel. You have all modcons and a nice big TV with YouTube and netflix options for the kids. The apartment was cleaned daily. The bathroom and shower were amazing, and very well designed. The breakfast and dinner were very tasty and lots of options for everyone's liking. There is a choice of sitting inside or outside while eating. The outside area is lovely and very comfortable for an al fresco dining. Overall the facilities and the hotel are excellent.

It’s generally just average and disappointing by normal Turkish standards. Staff are friendly but food is average, entertainment is poor, sun beds are difficult and queuing for food not a great experience - disappointed to be honest. Plenty of local shops to explore, so that’s a bonus.

We booked about 4 weeks before our holiday. We arrived at midnight and were shown to our room. We did insist that we change rooms the next day as we'd paid for a sea view. The reception team were happy to do this. We found the hotel staff charming and they really appreciated our attempt to speak Bulgarian! The food was ok, breakfasts, were the usual cooked and continental style and dinners, a bit repetitive after a fortnight. We ate out 3 times, as we like to spend a while eating and enjoying different restaurants.

We sat around around the pool, when the sun shone, and it was extremely quiet, being early September. Never any rush for sunbeds. In fact, only 4 to 6 people around it at the most.

Things to do:-
Turn right and you can walk to Sozopol old town. It's around a 20 min walk. We loved it, although it was the newer parts were being boarded up and closing down daily, as it was the end of season. The season ends at the end of August.

We was about a 5 minute walk from Bamboo Beach. Most people buy an umbrella at the beginning of the holiday as the beach umbrellas and sunbeds are quite expensive.

We also found another quieter/calmer water beach. If you turned left and follow the road, past Lidl. It's around a 20 minute walk. You'll see a tiled house, it's very quirky, and then you're nearly there.

You can carry on and walk the whole way round the headland. It's around 3 miles.

Lidl - is within spitting distance to your left and up the hill. As we have a fridge and kettle in our room, we stocked up with lunch food. The Lidl has a very interesting foyer. It shows all the items found in the archaeological dig that happened before it was built.

We took the catamaran to Nessebar. It only goes on calm sea days. It takes around 45 mins and you can buy the tickets on the day at the harbour. Nessebar is lovely and quaint. Very pretty and much bigger than Sozopol. There are numerous restaurants, shops and churches to explore. Make sure you catch the early boat there and stay until 5.30pm at least.

Borgas - we caught the bus from the town centre, near the old town. We had to ask where to wait as there was some confusion. The bus was only £2 each way! It takes around 30 mins. You will be dropped off a tthe railway station. When you get there, walk along the port/seafront and you'll arrive at the Sea gardens. Beautiful to walk around with very cheap cafes. The city was lovely and we found it the cheapest place for tea and cakes. We spent ages looking for the giant gramophone statue! It was nice to tick off our to do list.

The Castle of Ravadinov. We started walking to the castle as we believed it was an hours walk. We turned back as the road was too busy and caught a taxi there. It cost us £15 return. The taxi driver picked us up after 2 hours. Ensure you go into the wine cellar too. It's quite Harry Potter style. It's a lovely recently created castle, and a bit twee, but beautiful.

The Airport!! It was packed as 3 flights were going out after 11pm. It took an hour and a half to drop off our bags and get through security. We only had around 20 mins, to grab some water and shop. Not the nicest end to the holiday.

To summarise, the hotel was lovely, an interesting culture and lovely places to visit. We enjoyed out 2 weeks.

This is the best hotel. There is 4 cars parking lot only, so please do not go there with a car. The hotel is situated at the center of the village and about 10m from the beach (500-600m long). The beach is very clean and small. If you want bigger room at the beach go to the other beach (2km long). But the beach is not as clean as the smaller one.

Near the hotel (about 1km) and at the beach is situated a museum the Tower. It is part of a old castle but almost everything inside is not authentically!!! (only copies from the same period). Near that Castle you can found an old cemetery - in June 2012 there was found an ancient Vampire.

The room was cleaned and towels were changed every day.
Our kid enjoyed the kids play zone (this zone needs some little restoring) and the little pool for the kids.
The staff was friendly, the young girls serving at restaurant tables were nice, friendly and professional. They also speak English.
The restaurant food and prices were good. So we took the lunch every day in the hotel.
Breakfast is good, though not extraordinary :)
The hotel yard is full of flowers, which is very nice.
The beach is very easy to reach.
There is a zone where you can park the car for free in front of the hotel.

Since our arrival the hotel stuff was very friendly, attentive and they always made sure that we don´t need anything. They showed us to a beutiful beach that was very near to the hotel - we didn´t even have to wear shoes to get there, it had clean hot water with no waves and lot of fish to see. Our rooms were spacious, clean and very tastefuly equiped. We were also very pleased with the food that was served - the variety was not that big (we might appreciate more fish for example) but was very tasty and the pancakes they served for breakfest were the best I´ve ever tasted and I ate them every day :) The hotel is situated on the edge of Sozopol, which was great because it was very calm there but it was still in the walking distance of the lively city centre. We were also making lots of trips with a rented car to Pobiti Kamani, Kaliakra Cape, Nessebar, Burgas ... and even booked a bus trip to Istanbul so we saw a lot from Bulgaria. We had and amazing holiday and we can highly recommend this hotel to you. Hope you´ll enjoy your stay as much as we did :)
