I am highly disappointed of this complex! Firstly, there is no place to park - we had to leave our cars on the road and to enter the complex through a complex system of barriers and fences, in order to check-in. The service at reception was awful - I hadn't seen so bored and unpleasant employees! We had reserved a room for 5 people and they gave is 1 key. Only after quite a few requests they "managed to find another key", which was still insufficienct for 5 people, considering the fact that every entry in and out of the complex involves going through barriers and fences with chips and cards. We requested to pay for parking - they gave us parking spaces, which were situated around 10 min walking time from our apartment, and the complex is quite big and it is inconvenient to travel with suitcases on an incline. Concerning the rooms - they were ok, the only problem was that there was only 1 bathroom for 5 people, the shower was broken and the pressure of the water was very low. Overall, the complex has a pretention for high class, but it can't cover even mid-class.

Dear Ruslan, As I already asnwered your review on another platform, I shall repeat that I am sorry to see that the settlement did not meet your expectations! Your comments regarding the standard of service will be taken into consideration at our next meeting. Please note that Santa Marina offers limited access in order to ensure the safety of all children and adults on its premises. It is for this reason that we have eco-transport, in the form of golf carts, which help to easily move around the territory of the complex, as well as for the hassle-free transfer of luggage. On arrival, we have temporary parking spaces available so you can check in with ease before receiving a key to the bracket from your parking space. Let me add that additional keys can be requested upon check-in so that colleagues can respond to the moment. As for the apartment you booked, I'm sure you were able to familiarize yourself with the description of the room you selected in advance - how many bedrooms and bathrooms it has. Thanks again for the guidance to improve our service! We wish you to find the place that suits your taste! Kaloyan Krumov Guest Liaison Manager

This is a lovely place in Bulgaria. So green, friendly for family vacation. Guarded territory, children are safe to walk alone the whole day. We came here for many years in summer. But this year something terrible with the security has happened. Strange people are sitting in pools, definitely not the village' guests. Electronic lockers on the entrances are not operated and doors stay opened. A lot of cars instead of declared car-free zone. Our next door neighbours - mother and child - were heisted while being asleep. The intruder came into their apartment in the night and stole money and jewels. And then entered another apartment and scared to death the woman inside. This kind of service is absolutely inadmissable for the "luxury" vacation level they're promising in the advertisement. We are hoping Santa Marina' service management will improve all the mistakes they've taken. It is very sad to loose such a good place for spending time with our kids.

Dear EK, As a company, we are committed to following the safety and security standards of keeping the resort safe. We are facing challenges of every kind and that precedent is an example of a brazen arrogance! I am happy to provide the news that the person responsible for that act is detained and all the missing items have now been returned to their owners. We take our responsibility and even already implemented a more strict approach in our access procedures. With that being said, we pledge our determination to continue to improve every aspect of our services! Kaloyan Krumov Guest Relations Manager

It was quite a nice place in the past. But now there are problems with security (friquent robberies in the nights), dangerous driving in non-auto zones, expensive for Bulgaria and its service prices, dirty pools and sea. No reason to come back.

Dear Alexey, I am deeply saddened by your claim for robberies during the night as the security is 24/7. We have received zero signals about such a thing by our guests. I am at a lost witht he comment for dangerous driving inside the village as it is forbidden for vehicles to enter for safety reasons. I shall check the quality of the cleaning of the pools and if we find any lapse in the process we shall take measures. Kaloyan Krumov Guest Relations Manager

Although the complex is half-full at best, the pools are overcrowded and there are screaming and shouting children till 24:00. And because this is not enough, the management launched people to do the fencing and gardening with extremely noisy trimmers. Imagine relaxing by the pool with your family, while they are restless trimming the bushes for several hours. The pool bars play some techno from the morning till late evening like this is not a family resort, but a beach disco. We were visiting the complex twice per year for the last multiple years, but this is for sure our last visit.

I would have hoped to read how satisfied you are with the stay, unfortunately that is not the case which makes me sad. I sincerely hope, your summer will continue in the best possible way and one day you will return and see the difference in service here! Kaloyan Krumov Guest Relations Manager

We had a lovely stay at Santa Marina. Gorgeous views and beautiful setting. The only criticism I would have is the food but that might be due to individual taste. It would have been nice to have less processed food at the buffet breakfast and dinner. Also charging for water at dinner (and no charge at breakfast) wasn't great. But overall we had a wonderful holiday and I would recommend Santa Marina.

The good things about this hotel are the location, large rooms/apartments and the outdoor areas (pools, etc.). Outside of that, the room had a very strong odor and they refused to move us. There is no parking so you have to look for parking on your own. The staff doesn't really try to help you with any of the issues. For the high price they charge, I would not recommend this place. Go spend your money elsewhere.

Santa marina is an unusual place in that it is a collection of apartments set in the most stunning of grounds. Stayed in apartment 103/41 with incredible views over karavatsit beach and the bay With the most stunning sunset and sunrise. Apartment was spacious , clean and well equipped with mini kitchen ,iron and air con. Maid service everyday with fresh towels . Only complaint was the bed ! So big and comfortable struggled getting out of it . 5 swimming pools 4 restaurants and amazing huge jacuzzi at viva mare . Pools were immaculate, sunbeds and shades plentiful. Showers and changing areas also. We stayed half board and here the glowing review changes somewhat . Breakfast was full of choice from full English to continental and we never went hungry or have any complaints here . Evening meal was a different story , we were one couple of about 4 on half board and could only be accommodated in the buffet restaurant when some other function made it worthwhile to open , here the food was OK, nothing to write home about and not really worth the e tra cost of halfboard . When the buffet couldn't open we all dined at viva mare restaurant below Here is where my only complaint really lies . Eating at viva mare is random one day you will the next you may not the menu is very limited for half board guests and in a 2 week stay you can easily repeat your food choices , no soft drinks included only tap water included. You will spend quite a bit on drinks ut the food is of a much better standard than the buffet again dessert is limited to 3 choices ice cream ,fruit or manager's special for 3 nights running creme caramel was the special. Do not stay half board but eat out in the old town for a better choice. Drinks prices are consistent across the site but be aware your mixer for your spirit is about the same price as the spirit itself. Buy from the online supermarket and save a fortune . The village is surrounded by beaches , some clean some not so clean went for a walk on karavatsit beach and was pretty appaled by the state of it and the water it looked like an advert for plastic pollution of the oceans saw everything from builders bag to flourecent tubes in the sea , the beach in main sozapol is much better For the best beach go behind matis bar in sozapol old town its immaculate but small . Oh special shout to Matis bar great food and drinks plus service and even put the wales v Ukraine game on for us . Would we go back again definitely but only bed and breakfast . Superb location and gorgeous setup with a lot of trees and plants on the alleyes! Shadow is everywhere, the whole site is peaceful. Beach is very close, there are small shops inside the resort. Sports facilities included! Kids can play in dedicated playgrounds. 5 pools to enjoy sun! Sozopol Old City is 2km from the resort! Parking slots are limited, might be an issue during the weekends!

We booked and paid for a delux sea view 1 bedroom appartment,we got at best a partial sea view the most uncomfortable sofa in a kitchen/living room not even on the top floor and sea blocked by trees, I complained and the day they offered us to move rooms 2 days later to the center of the resort. As a family being unpacked that didn’t help really. Also the manager Nikolai said that we had a washing machine so it made it a delux appartment... The golf karts come in 5 mins to collect you when you call. But in the evenings be prepared to walk because no answers from reception. 2/4 restaurants were open during our 10 day stay. The beach is really dirty, your clothes are covered in dirt and dust after. Jet ski was 100 lev for 10 mins which is expensive, don’t take the cheaper one as it’s limited and very boring. The breakfast, 10 mornings of Eros ramazotti and cold eggs. The bacon was ok but soaked in oil.Fresh juice costs extra. The pool water is nice and clean but the decks surrounding them are not suitable for babies to crawl on. So management please don’t thank me for my stay and we won’t be back.
