We very much enjoyed our laid-back stay at this beautiful hotel in Sozopol. Our room was beautiful with a terrific view of the harbor. Breakfast was very good and the location is great for many restaurants, shops, the beach, and a harbor cruise which we enjoyed. The staff gave us some excellent recommendations for dining out at places with a lovely view of the bay.

In a sea of tacky and massive resorts Blue Bay Hotel is a refreshing addition to the Black Sea Coast. We need more luxury boutique hotels like this! We would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect walking distance from everything and the design is elegant, simple and very comfortable. Beds are comfy too and some of the rooms have wonderful views of the port. Rooms were cleaned really well and breakfast was delightful as are most of the staff. A couple of points for improvement: Boca Grande food and service could be much better given the price point. The service is slow and grudging. Like they are doing you a favor. The pool staff also wasn’t very helpful, they should make sure there are always towels ready and that they help people with the beds and umbrellas, right now the whole pool area feels like “self service”. But if management can make sure that all staff (not just some) are on point the place would be five stars!

We stayed in the standard room which does not have sea views. The room was quiet and clean, though relatively small and small bathroom. The decor was fairly ordinary and the bed was on a platform which was a bit dangerous at night. There was nowhere to sit in the room, just a stool for one - no chairs. The interior corridoors were very dark and it didn't feel like a plush hotel. There was nothing particularly wrong with the hotel but the price is excessive for what it is and compared to everywhere else we stayed in Romania and Bulgaria. We only chose to stay here as I couldn't find anything else in Sozopol that was at the higher end. The location is excellent - at edge of old town. The pool was open strange hours with no shade so not really usable. The staff were not 5 star standard service quality. The breakfast had lots of variety but again quality not as good as other places we stayed in Bulgaria and Romania. There seems to be limited competition in Sozopol at the moment. If the prices were lower then it may be more reasonable.

Truly accomplished gem at the seaside in Bulgaria. Small and boutique the hotel provides a sense of home, serenity and luxury.
Special thanks for the fantastic restaurant, the best steak for 2021 out of close to 20 countries visited this year. The location is also in the middle of everything, so you dont feel detached from the Old Town, bustling evening time marina and the small nearby cafes and restaurants.
Highly recommend, truly worth the money.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Worth every penny. Great room - really big with beautiful views of the port. Lovely big bathroom area and double bed plus sofa beds for the kids. Some lovey touches with great toiletries and Nespresso machine. Nice pool area on the 3rd floor, great views of the port. Lovey breakfast included. Restaurant was a little pricey and not great for vegetarians but we found this in much of Bulgaria. Overall a proper 5 star experience!

We managed to stay in the hotel twice this summer. In my humble opinion this is by far the best hotel around Sozopol. The rooms are really beautifully done, breakfast was delicious, service was good, cleaning was good too. On the 2 occasions we slept in room with marina view- which was ok and the second time were in studio and the view was sensational. Overall, I really liked the hotel. There is obviously opportunity to be better(eg. better and more professional service in the restaurant during dinner. You have very expensive bottles of wines, the waiters should be better prepared for conversations, advices, suggestions, etc. about it to make guests feel more welcomed), but it clicked on most points for me. Will visit again next year.

This hotel has a good location, nice interior, and good service. There is a valet service and parking place in front of the hotel. Nice patio/balcony in the room. Good shower, good bed, good wifi. Too small blanket for a double bed. Bed, shower and toilet are on elevated floors, you should be careful! There is a pool but it’s really not for swimming. No private beach. Excellent breakfast! Service was good but not 5 star level. I asked whether there is a place to swim safely (it was quite windy day). I was directed to the Central Beach. It was not open for swim (red flags). 5 star service would have been to call to find out if you can swim there (safely) and it not, provide an alternative (having private boat transfer or whatever).

! Very fine food! Congratulations to the chef! Service very bad. The staff was totally ignoring us the second night we went there, the first time, they were let’s say ok but they are making rude gestures. As example is the fact that they left us a littel box for the tips on the table as soot as we finished eating .

It is difficult to find fault with the Blu Bay but let's try: as in so many otherwise decent hotels there are no comfortable chairs in the room. Also, a breakfast menu with eggs cooked to order ought to offer toast to go under them. That said, everything else was done to a high standard. Big room with a good bed. Rooftop pool with cushioned sunbeds and drink service. Valet parking underground. Spacious twin-phase shower with full set of smellies. Plentiful breakfast. Good location on the edge of the old town. Importantly, the staff are excellent, delivering courteous and friendly service without being unduly familiar. It isn't a cheap hotel but it is value for money.

This is probably the best luxury hotel on the Bulgarian Black Sea; the rooms are very comfortable, the staff are -mostly- very polite and the restaurant is top-notch! There are a few small things that bothered me, however, including the ridiculous underground parking, which is absolutely unusable, the limited selection of breakfast choices (there was no banitza!), and the somewhat noisy rooms, where you could sometimes hear the TV of your neighbours. Despite that though, it’s a great place to spend a few days in the summer. Recommended!
