Lovely hotel, very romantic. My husband and I went at Sozopol for our wedding anniversary and our choice was Blue Bay hotel. The room was very chic, marine style decoreted and the restarant was beautiful also. Our favorite spot was the salty water pool with an amazing view at the port.
This hotel is the best luxury hotel not only in Sozopol but in Bulgaria in my opinion. The rooms are excellent, very clean, the location is very good and the view from the hotel is fabulous. The team of the hotel is very professional and kind. The food at the restaurant is a high quality food - fresh and delicious. We will definetely come back next summer!!!
This hotel has a good location, nice interior, and good service. There is a valet service and parking place in front of the hotel. Nice patio/balcony in the room. Good shower, good bed, good wifi. Too small blanket for a double bed. Bed, shower and toilet are on elevated floors, you should be careful! There is a pool but it’s really not for swimming. No private beach. Excellent breakfast! Service was good but not 5 star level. I asked whether there is a place to swim safely (it was quite windy day). I was directed to the Central Beach. It was not open for swim (red flags). 5 star service would have been to call to find out if you can swim there (safely) and it not, provide an alternative (having private boat transfer or whatever).
Absolutely lovely hotel. Worth every penny. Great room - really big with beautiful views of the port. Lovely big bathroom area and double bed plus sofa beds for the kids. Some lovey touches with great toiletries and Nespresso machine. Nice pool area on the 3rd floor, great views of the port. Lovey breakfast included. Restaurant was a little pricey and not great for vegetarians but we found this in much of Bulgaria. Overall a proper 5 star experience!
I'm just back in the UK after a 1 week stay at the Blu Bay. There are so many positive aspects to point out about this property. I'll do my best to summarize them all. The property has an atractive lay out over a wide plot, 3 stories up plus a basement. The general feel is one of amplitude and airiness. Everything is spotless clean, it also smells great. The swimming pool area is on the top floor. Although the pool is not big it makes up for it with the great views, general feel and excellent furnishings and finishings. It opens 24/7 and it's not always watched, for which I assume they chose it to be very shallow. The gym and spa are on the basement. The gym also opens 24/7, similarly to the swimming pool, it is not big but very well appointed. All of that is free of charge to enjoy, with the exception of any treatment booked at the spa. One thing missing, they do not have a hot tab/ jacuzzi - there is a free sauna/ steam room though. Their breakfast service includes a decent range of options. Their cured meats seem pretty good quality. They have some awesome fresh fruit cut/sliced. Coffee is very good. Pastries are great. I would avoid the French toast though :-) - Once you have eaten French toasts/pancakes in the US is kind of pointless to try them in Europe, they always disappoint :-) If you have trouble with noise at night I would encourage you to ask for a quiet room. Other than that the rooms are extremely well appointed and proportioned. Their shower rooms and water pressure/temperature are top notch. And last but not least, the team working at the hotel. They do deserve the 5+ stars for sure. They are very professional and accommodating. They made sure all my questions were answered and needs met. Words do not well describe how great they are. Also they all speak English to a good or very good level. It has been a rejuvinating trip, I feel I've shed 5 years off my passport age :-) - Cannot wait to return to the Blu Bay for another week in heaven. P.S. May is very low season in Sozopol, you'd have the place for yourself for the most part but some services (ferries/one day trips) may not be available.…
In a sea of tacky and massive resorts Blue Bay Hotel is a refreshing addition to the Black Sea Coast. We need more luxury boutique hotels like this! We would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect walking distance from everything and the design is elegant, simple and very comfortable. Beds are comfy too and some of the rooms have wonderful views of the port. Rooms were cleaned really well and breakfast was delightful as are most of the staff. A couple of points for improvement: Boca Grande food and service could be much better given the price point. The service is slow and grudging. Like they are doing you a favor. The pool staff also wasn’t very helpful, they should make sure there are always towels ready and that they help people with the beds and umbrellas, right now the whole pool area feels like “self service”. But if management can make sure that all staff (not just some) are on point the place would be five stars!…
Truly accomplished gem at the seaside in Bulgaria. Small and boutique the hotel provides a sense of home, serenity and luxury. Special thanks for the fantastic restaurant, the best steak for 2021 out of close to 20 countries visited this year. The location is also in the middle of everything, so you dont feel detached from the Old Town, bustling evening time marina and the small nearby cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend, truly worth the money.
This hotel is one of the best in east sea coast of Bulgaria. The interior design of the rooms and the hotel are great. The restaurant is also one of the top in the whole region. The breakfast is fantastic.
Two humans and two dogs stayed in an apartment for three nights. We chose this hotel because we wanted a place where we could bring our pets, and the reviews were more than solid. The accommodation had two balconies which made it spacious and gave the dogs places to lounge. Unfortunately, I assumed that because it was labeled as an apartment, there would be a place to refrigerate food but the fridge was a small minibar. Expect a kettle to boil water and a coffee machine with pods as your kitchen. Although I was surprised by this, it was my fault for not reading more closely as it was clearly stated by the hotel. The breakfast was a buffet which included such fare as eggs, breads, yogurt, and fruit. There didn't seem to be any Bulgarian cuisine on offer which was a small disappointment. The staff was friendly. Checkout was inefficient as it took lover twenty minutes. I could have checked out online but needed my car keys. Overall, a good choice for our stay. …
