This is my completely honest review of Hotel Royal Park, we travelled with a group of 8 adults & 1 baby from the 8th-20th August. On arrival, we were greeted with a bag of snacks as it was after midnight and so we had missed the dinner slot. The first issue arose at the check in desk when we were allocated a room on the 6th floor when we asked for a room on the ground floor. This was to cater for one of our family members who had limited mobility. They said to come back to the reception in the morning. In the end, the problem was not resolved. The rooms are quite spacious. Double beds are two single beds pushed together (this was fine). The decor is nice. It was reasonably clean with fresh towels & sheets provided. The bathroom was clean with shampoo & hygiene packs included. The bed was reasonably comfortable, which made for an alright night sleep. The air conditioning in the room was not working, which was not ideal in the hot temperatures. Breakfast was a buffet style on the ground floor of the hotel. Large seating area provided indoor & outdoor. A variety of food on offer, coffee machines & a juice bar. The food was average, may not be ideal for picky eaters, but they do provide a lot of choice. The pool area is lovely, great for kids. There is an outdoor bar which was fabulous. The only downside was the long queue in the heat, however, at certain times of the day there could be no queue. There are lounge chairs provided, however, it can be difficult to reserve them so get down early in the morning. There is a snack bar beside the pool which was very convenient they serve fries, burgers etc. There is also a bar in the lobby area, which again had unpredictable queues. That being said, the service was great. You got what you ask for, and the barmen are nice. The beach is a minute walk from the hotel. You can get sunbeds and umbrellas down there too. There is a great water park just 5 minutes from the hotel, this in included in your stay. There is a supermarket on site, as well as a large supermarket 5 minutes from the hotel gate. There are a few restaurants outside the gate also, notably White Bar, Jack Sparrow & Paco's. All great food and good atmosphere too. There are plenty of souvenir shops around and a funfair for kids. There was a great schedule at the hotel for kids entertainment also. The lifts in the hotel are very slow and inconvenient. They may not even come to your floor at all. There are stairs as alternative, may be an problem for those with mobility issues. Overall, I don't think the place deserves the terrible reviews it receives. It was worth the money we paid. We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday.

Total disaster. Where to start. Lifts are extremely slow and always one out of four does not work. You need to wait ages to use it. No air in the lift. The rooms are good size but no housekeeping. The pools are very dirty. The grass is yellow. No maintenance or whatsoever. You need to wait hours to get a snack. You need to queue a while to get a drink from the bar. You need to hit someone to have a dessert. The food is very basic and same everyday. No ventilation in the restaurant. You go for dinner and smell like chimney. The sunbeds are very dirty and aged. No proper cocktails or fuzzy drinks. We have been here 3 days feels like ages. We asked for baby cot. We have got one without matress. This hotel is not even 3 star. Do Not recommend. Avoid at all cost

We booked this hotel with on the beach in February, but when we got to the hotel after being dropped off after a 12 hour journey with cases to our horror the hotel was not open, we never got informed by the travel agent about the hotel, which we booked in February, we were left horrified and scared, we saw this Bulgarian man walk up to the hotel. I showed my paperwork which read the royal park he got on his mobile rang some number next thing he passed the phone to me, some girl spoke to me who knew my name and said a buggy would be collecting us in a few minutes, unawares to us were we were going we landed up at the royal castle. The hotel was up a hill, we couldn't go anywhere, loads of steps and out of the way. If on the beach had informed us of the hotel not open, which we booked in February by the way, they could have given us the option to go elsewhere. What a nightmare of a holiday, we were petrified after being just dumped outside royal park, we were having panic attacks, we couldn't wait to come home. An awful experience and I am in the process of writing to on the beach and we want a refund for all the trauma we have been through. Mrs McIntyre A very angry and upset lady

Parking and luggage logistics are impossible. Arrival: 30 min to find a parking spot. Walk to hotel 15 min, check in, wait 1 hour for the hotel manager to find a driver for luggage cart, driver told us the car was too far parked, had to bring the car closer, move the luggage, take the car back, walk back to the luggage cart. After 2 hours we were all set up in the room. Rooms: full of sand on the carpet, torn furniture, towels changed only if we went after the cleaning crew and insisted. Cleaning means - take out the trash and add one roll of toilet paper. AC in the room means u will not die of heat exhaustion but be sure you will never be comfortable. Pool is full of sand and dirty cleaning water from the terrase gets spilled in the pool due to clogged drainpipes. Pool is used by people to clean the sand off their legs. Hotel umbrellas on the beach are non existing - they have some extra small green umbrellas made out of large mesh that provide no sun protection. You must bring your own umbrella. Food is edible and Ok for a strong or very strong stomach. You have to take into account that you have to wait around 10-15 min to find a table to sit at. Hotel lobby is full of flies. Beer dispensers have dead flies in the drain tray. Hotel staff speak English wery well when they need something from you but when you need to ask them they never understand - ex. bell boy with the luggage to check out. Room phones can't call reception, for any problem you must go down youself. Each day there was a scandal at the reception desk due to hotel problems - locked doors, broken pipes, electricity in one room, broken balcony doors etc.

They do not cater for the British but don't mind taking our money!!! We have just returned home from a terrible "holiday " in Bulgaria.  When making the booking we asked for a Sea View room we didn't get this after calling teletext on the day of arrival to be told we had only paid for a park view, we decided just make the most of the holiday.  So we arrived on the 12th September 2019 at the Royal Park Resort, expecting to have a lovely time. Monday 15th September the water  park was closed, gate locked with a chain and padlock, the "pool" bar closed no notice that this was going to happen, so if you was sat around the pool or the beach you had to go back into the hotel for refreshments because the beach bar looked as if it had been burnt down previously. The pool bar was also where the snacks were provided, a burger slapped because two slices of dry bread and cabbage.  Hot dog outlet closed, never opened the all time of our stay. Gyros outlet food served cold Irish bar and night club closed.  The meals at lunch and dinner time cold, there was no description of what the slop was, just a picture of a chicken, pig or a cow ! Was lead to believe we could use three restaurants, we were not allowed to use the others only the one in Royal Park. Al la Cart meal, was like being on a conveyor belt, didn't get chance to finish one course, then the next one was served!!! The cleanliness of the hotel was absolutely disgusting!! Human faeces was on the wall of the toilet at the Royal Bay pool area for the full length of time we was there, door didn't lock, no toilet tissue half the time, when asked for the toilet tissue to be replaced, the answer was use the hotel!!! I had to literally beg for clean towels and bedding, 7 days before the cleaner finally gave in and gave me clean bedding.  There was blood in the stair well between floors 5 and 2 ,that was still there on leaving on the 21st September.  There is absolutely no entertainment at all in the hotel, the majority of the staff are very rude, smoking behind the outdoor bar(when it was open),where food and drinks are prepared  If we were told that the facilities would be closing whilst on the holiday we would have never booked there but would have booked elsewhere.  We are well travelled and know that every person's taste cannot be catered for,but this was really a holiday from hell, due to the location and very little to do around the area we had to go through to other resorts.  Pictures can be provided upon request.

Stay away and save yourself the headache, unless of course, you also enjoy 20s-30s Russian men running around wasted in the hallways, playing their boom boxes... On a serious note, incompetent, ineffective, and careless staff, disappointing conditions, can’t even buy a bottle of water at the “bar” in the lobby. Absolutely nothing to do or see around here. All services that were advertised during booking are not available in September. A complete misrepresentation of all amenities. An utter disappointment from a place that was supposed to be the location for a special annual family trip. Can’t get a refund. Can’t find a single employee who can help with anything. Wait, you can’t even find any employees, period. Oh, sweet Bulgaria, how I love thee but when are people going to finally learn how it’s done?! Smh

Basically this place shouldn’t be 4 star 2/3 . Food awful. No description to say what dish was . We found some lovely restaurants outside complex. Drinks terrible. Maids only emptied bin . We had to ask for towels. Lifts hardly work . Cleaning around complex was a joke. Needs a deep clean. Plus was a sea view. But this ment we overlooked pool which was never cleaned. Edges off pool dangerous. Staff need customers service training. When we left we give keys in . Not a word said to us .. nice location and bus easy enough. . Medical centre fab with goggle translations though. Just needs good management and would be fab hotel
