I stayed at Rancho DiAndrew with my 14 year old son. Andrew is a great host. He took care of us from the beginning of our trip to the end of the trip: He arranged a great driver to pick us up from the San Jose airport, got grocery before we arrive to have basic stuff we need for the morning, cooked for us for breakfast and dinner, showed us around in his property, gave safety tips, and arranged taxi when we needed to go down to the beach. On our return, driver took us back to San Jose, took us to the Covid test site and drove us to the airport. It was totally stress free, and luxurious experience for me who normally had to do all of these things on my own! The internet connection was stable enough for my son to continue with his remote learning. Andrew prepared nutritious breakfast for him so he could eat during the break. The Ranch is located in the middle of the mountain. I woke up hearing the howling monkey, the sound of birds, and frogs. From the cabin, I could see the wale's tale of Uvita. I would most definitely go back to this place! Andrew also give water fall tour, which we joined one day. This was also fun. He thinks about everything to the smallest detail. Everything is so well planed out and I felt very safe even when my son jumped off the clip 40 feet high! The main reason why I picked this place was for surfing. Andrew is an excellent coach. He teaches the basic skill-board control, paddling and pop-up. Unlike most surf school, he does not push the board, which I appreciate it very much. He would paddle along with you with his go-pro, while I paddle to get the wave. He also chose the break according to my level of surfing. He record all of my practice, and after the session, he quickly put together video for us to review. The video shows what I need to work on, and Andrew would help me figure out how to archive that. Then for the next session, we would work on the part we discussed. I have had the best process with him, and I was able to learn to surf safely without getting stressed out with the waves.…
We stayed at Rancho DiAndrew for ten days and our family of four felt right at home. The location is divine, on a mountaintop placed perfectly between jungle and beach. We scheduled the waterfall tour with Andrew--this excursion was the best part of our trip! Our kids ages 8,16 had an amazing time and we all enjoyed the lunch post waterfall tour. Delicious! The waterfall tour remains our favorite activity thanks to Andrew and the help of his trusted "river ninja" Kai. If you are visiting Uvita/Dominical areas, this is a must. Andrew and Tess of Rancho DiAndrew are a great resource for all things Costa Rica. Do yourselves a favor and get in contact with them to book a tour, rent cabinas, book surf lessons and more.
We took the waterfall tour and it was an absolute highlight in an already fantastic vacation. The guides were great and the tour was extremely fun for everyone in the group no matter whether you’re the less adventurous type or are into jumping from huge cliffs. The area was drop dead gorgeous and even the lunch they made us afterwards was very delicious. We will definitely book another tour the next time we’re in the area!
My family recently did Andrew's Waterfall Tour. Hands Down it was our favorite thing we did in Costa Rica! And we are three very different people: an outdoorsy 50 year old male, an artsy 47 year old female, and a 14 year old teenage girl. Andrew was welcoming and made us feel comfortable and safe. I liked that he explained everything and took precautions. That said, there were definitely some THRILLING moments! We had a great time. Dave & Kai, who worked with Andrew, were also wonderful and helpful. After climbing, jumping & swimming we worked up an appetite and were treated to a fantastic lunch on Andrew's picturesque porch. We even got a hilarious video which Andrew miraculously edited while we were eating. Highly recommend!
Mark and I are so glad we found Andrew and Tessa (and Kai too) in Uvita. We did the Gorge or Cliff Jumping trip though we kept our jumping to low-level heights. It was just Mark and I on our trip so to say it was very personalized is an understatement. Andrew is easy going, fun and a great guide. I felt very safe. We walked up the river, through the river and over boulders. Thankfully Andrew is strong! Pulling us up the current and across the waterfall takes patience and strength. Battling the mini waterfalls for a massage was one of Mark’s favourite activities on our Costa Rica travels. Andrew filmed the day and the resultant video is hilarious. We finished with a home-cooked Thai noodle lunch made by Tessa at the Rancho DiAndrew home. Delicious! We enjoyed our first adventure so much we booked the jungle trek a few days later. Our host this time was Enrique, an experienced guide and local property owner of Santa Lucia Falls and eco farm. We did a five-hour hike up up up and more up the mountain in San Josecito. Again, just Mark and I, we had a fabulous time trekking with Enrique. There are waterfalls everywhere. Gorgeous. Learning about his passion for the environment and sustaining organic farming made the experience more authentic and enriching. The lunch we enjoyed after the hike was amazing. Made by his family, it was the best fried chicken and pico de gallo we have ever had. Fresh juice made from his farm fruit was so good. If you do this trip be prepared to climb high up the mountain. Our phone claims we walked the equivalent of 95 staircases. I would have booked more trips but we ran out of time.…
Andrew was extremely accommodating and helped us find everything we needed! He brought us through a waterfall tour where we hiked up a jungle river to where it got deeper and we could climb up some rocks to jump in. He was very vigilant making sure we always felt comfortable and safe. The location was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful and exhilarating cliff jumping experience. We could also go into the waterfall and let it pull you under - really something to experience! We finished the day with a great meal. Andrew is great company to have around and always made our group feel welcome.
Andrew's waterfall tour is one of the coolest things I've ever done. It was by far the best thing I did in Costa Rica. He's a great guide, really makes you feel at home and is quite the cook. I strongly recommend checking it out.
Got connected with Andrew through another happy client. Wicked adventure through to a breathtaking waterfall and various other amazing water/jungle features. Andrew was a fun guide who ensured a comfortable, safe and most of all exhilarating trip. He even served up some great food! His spot in Uvita is a must see. Thx for everything buddy!
I’ve been to RDA twice, and have done both a waterfall tour and a surf retreat (which they also offer, as the owners have surfed their entire lives and are amazing surf mentors). I’ve travelled to a lot of countries and done a lot of different adventure activities or whatever you want to call them, but the RDA experience is second to none. RDA is also in a gorgeous and less crowded area of Costa Rica that is absolutely worth seeing. Highly recommend
We headed for the day, Andrew was a delight to meet and we had a lovely walk around the property. We saw some great gardens and food growing. Great vibes! If you're into green living, check Rancho DiAndrew out!
