Stayed 7 days in Semporna in 3 didferent resorts including Seafest Hotel. Pricing wise, it is way much affordable than other resort with similar facilities. They provide free breakfast and the hotel is equipped with gym and swimming pool and kids would definitely love it! Seafest is the most decent hotel in Semporna with hot water that works, clean spacious room with coffee making facilities, safe deposit box & fridge. We stayed in family room facing the jetty and my husband enjoy watching the fisherman unloading tons of fishes from the boat every morning. However you can smell the fish if you’re at the pool but that’s not so bad given the fact that there’s market nearby as well. The hotel is also strategically located so if you plan on island hopping it would be very convenient. Lots of seafood restaurants with affordable price and cafes nearby including Starbucks, Secret Recipe, Tealive. If you want to try the local food, Semporna town is just 5 mins drive and if you prefer it is also walking distance. Definitely choice of stay for my upcoming trip.

The location of the hotel is very good, near the jetty for island hopping. And it is very near to all the restaurants in a shopping complex. The rooms need refurbishment but generally comfortable to stay after your day activities. The breakfast spreads are actually quite good and we enjoyed it.

We checked in at the main wing. Good hotel for stop by before going to Sipadan. The room quite old but well functions. There is a coffeeshop server good breakfast. Staff are helpful and good transfer to Tawau airport.

Horrible old hotel, extremely lack of maintenance, dark and creepy corridor like horror movie. I think the only reason it is still running is they are right next to the jetty pick up spot. Very dirty and stain everywhere, including bedsheets and towels. We didn't even want to touch anything, just stayed one night and left for island hopping.

Checked in twice within a month. Thanks to staff. They attended to any queires promptly. Heard ther were bugs from other comments but good to say bugs were gone during my stays. room relatively big for two person and price are reasonable.it comes with free breakfast. Brekafast spread resonable.

Booking the room is soooo confusing. The picture when u want to book showing of seafeast hotel but when u want to check in, the room is at lepa wing seafeast….to change, need you need to pay extra. So u need to read carefully, cannot only trust the picture showed.

We stayed a night in this hotel, transiting to Kapalai Resort. This hotel, I presume that it used to be in its glory 10-20 years ago, however, it has not been maintained much. The room we had was past its prime and had a musty smell. I wore my slippers, the carpet was quite dusty and dirty and lights were dim.
Breakfast was so-so. However, there were interesting view outside the windows, we could catch the busy activities of the fishermen (and boys) sorting out fishes that they caught early in the mornings.

This Hotel is the perfect place to stay and dive at Sipadan. There is a nice swimming pool where you can relax after your diving trip. The restaurant an the left of the hotel (on the water, I think it is a part of the hotel) you are able to grab some nice food.
I would like to recommend everybody to stay in this hotel in Semporna instead of at a expensive resort which charges a lot of money and than you are only able to dive at Sipadan once every 3/4 days... At the dive companies in Semporna you are able to arrange your boat to Sipadan, so you are able to go each day!! Diving at Sipadan is simply amazin and other dive sites around are really not compareable (maybe 5% of Sipadan).

We had a terrible stay at Seafest Hotel last year. Before we go to sleep my wife noticed small bite marks and heavy itches from her arms and legs. We start looking in the bed for bugs and found a small bedbug. We start looking around and found a lot of bugs on the wall as well. We took our two kids and packed our bags in a minute and went down to the reception. They did not seem particularly surprised. We claimed to go to their other hotel across the street but they refused. We agreed to stay in a suite on another floor and in another part of the building. We serached the suite for traces of bugs 15 minutes and then accepted to stay the night. We checked out the next morning and will never go back again. We had to sanitize all our belongings, wash all our clothes in 60 degree celsius and put our bags in the freezer to be sure not to bring bedbugs back home.

I wanted to make a reservation, but the process is a hassle. I even provided the credit card authorization form, but the staff claim that they need Identification card copy for supporting. Hence, I have cancelled the request and I swear that I will never stay at this hotel even whole town is fully booked.

If you are staying at the Seafest hotel, they will come and pick you up at the airport. The hotel itself needs a real makeover. The buffet breakfast though is more than I had anticipated. If you are not staying at the Seafest, ask your hotel if they do pick up or if they can high you a driver. It is a long drive to the port.
There are more places to choose from in the Semporna area.
