Uhuru Beach is such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay with everything you could possibly need for an amazing beach holiday. The beach side bungalows are beautifully simple and very comfortable and very reasonably priced compaired to other lodges along the beach. The food is good both at the lodge and at cafes and bars nearby, and there is... More

Last january I spent 2 nights at Uhuru Villa with my boyfriend and we had a beautiful time . The bungalows are located right on the beautiful beach of Jambiani ,they are simply decorated but well maintained. Its very quiet down there which can assure you to have a good night sleep ! Ana the owner is super friendly and... More

We loved our week in uhuru after we'd climbed Kilimanjaro. It was so quiet and relaxing. Ana is lovely and is very open, honest and helpful. She organised for us to be picked up from the airport and wakili took us back again. We also manage to hitch a lift with him to see the monkeys. We loved the food... More

Are you looking for a relaxing holiday resort? Then this is not the right place for you. I was obliged to spend a longish period in this nightmarish place for the lack of an alternative, since it was high season with Christmas and the New Year. You will ask, what was wrong with the place? Answer: practically everything. Judging by... More

Disgusting...yes your behaviour. So determined to run uhuru beach down once I asked you to leave. You were impossible to please and reminded me of Victor Meldrew. It was sad to see such misery in such a beautiful environment. You paid 25$ per night for two with breakfast. you complained non stop about just about everything. Including our portions yet... More

We liked Anna and Annas place very much! Bungalows are right there on the beach. They are very simple, need renovation in some places, get quite hot in spite of fans rolling in the sealing, but very clean. Breakfast is good and the view from beautifully renovated restaurant is amazing. Gloria is doing a relaxing massage in the garden shadow.... More

Uhuru has become my regular retreats during the past year. The setting and the ambience are fantastic and you can pass the days doing as little or as a much as you want. I recently spent 15 days here over Christmas and New Year and once again loved every minute of it, meeting with like minded people from all over... More

My first impressions of Uhuru Beach were heartening! Lovely white sand, lots of sun loungers, well designed reception and bar areas. Lots of whitewash, drift wood and blue highlights pull together an exotic nautical theme. I gathered this is a work in progress to bring the whole property up to scratch because my room was deeply disappointing. There were newer... More

We stayed there for one week,it was just perfect for us. Anna, the owner is such a nice person, the same as her staff, especially Asha. The food was amazing, everyday something different an fresh from the sea. Sure, the bungalows are basic and there is sometimes no water or electricity, but that is africa. The location is the best you... More

We stayed 5 nights at Uhuru beach. It is a great money for value, we had our own bungalow right at the beach front. We stayed in two different bungalows. The first one was not as well maintained as the second one (we had problems with the running water) but after that Ana the owner changed us to a second... More
