We visited resort in december 2020. We had a exellent holiday. Staff is very friendly and well organise. We loved the Jety bar and the view of the ocean. There is alot to do including kajak, games and great animation at night. Thank you Muddy & Abdul. We also like the food! 3 times a day there is buffet wih enough for everybody. Also pizza snacks in the afternoon. Manager helped us with room and made sure we had great time. Thank you, we will come back next year to ZAnzibar!
The question is whether I would recommend. Partly yes and mostly no would be the best answer. We can start at the beginning with checkin. Pros: The property is in a nice location on the beach and the beach is beautiful. Our room is a villa and those are the best rooms we have a 2 bedroom with 2 beds enough room for 4-5 people. The a/c is good in each room along with ceiling fans. There are toiletries in the rooms with enough towels. The beds are comfy with decent pillows. Staff are friendly. The grounds seem well kept. The housekeepers do an excellent job of cleaning. There is some entertainment not not really to what we are accustomed to. We had massages at the spa and were professional and priced right. There is no a/c at the spa. The rooms facing the ocean are the best rooms or villas. Cons: The service is really sad. From check in all the way to the end of your trip. The resort is priced and meals and drinks are at a separate price for an all inclusive. If you pay for anything with your card add another 4-5% to your cost. This should be absorbed into the room cost not an additional fee. You have to pay for towel rental and a safe in your room again should be absorbed into the cost of the room. No one likes additional fees again the credit card fee is added. The gym is terrible and should not be called a gym. The equipment is old and out dated as well as broken. There is no a/c in the gym room. The food is sub par to American standards. There is not enough variety and the buffet style has no rhyme or reason. The service in the restaurant is non existent and the tables are piled with plates that are dirty and wait staff standing around doing as little as possible. The drinks at the bar are watered down alcohol so not worth what ever the charge is. There is one kind of beer choice which is no choice. Tanzania is known for coffee, however the resort did not get that memo. There is instant coffee in your room (hate) and instant coffee is served in the kitchen. Coffee should be ground and fresh in the restaurant at least. If you ask for coffee in the morning they demand you bring your cups back! Who does that? The area is remote so you are stuck to the resort. The management just looks at you if you make a legitimate comment about something that is not up to par. The solicitation for services is constant and should not be allowed on property unless they are with the property. Most are not. The furniture outside is falling apart and needs to be fixed or replaced.…
After spending an idyllic two weeks there in July/August with my daughter I couldnt wait to take a friend and go back. This time I spent 16 nights in the family suite. This was spacious with lots of storage and a view to die for! The last time I was here was after lockdown and they had just reopened. There were very few guests and we were treated like royalty by every member of staff. This time we were greeted like family members and although the place was very busy every member of staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was exceptional. From the lovely general managers Sjoerd and Lisa, Guest relations Petra to Ngulele on reception and Rosie on the bar. Luisa the room attendant and Dullah, Mohammed and James animation team. All played a part to make out stay fantastic. And I cannot thank them all enough for being caring staff and wonderful people. This time there was even more choice in the buffet and plenty of freshly cooked options. The public areas were beautiful and well looked after. And the Jetty bar was a fun place to while away the evening, with music and dancing. Loved every minute of it.…
Our family has stayed several places in Tanzania and this has been our best experience yet. The location is picturesque with turquoise blue seas and white sands and the facilities are outstanding with pools clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and readily available without being overbearing. They abided by covid precautions and we felt very safe. The food was delicious with good options for both kids and adults. Hats off to the chef! The full-board option combined with the buffet style took the stress out of choosing. We found there was plenty to do on-site as well between the pools, beach, reef, kayaks, games room, billiards, etc. and the Animation Team provided extra options too. I enjoyed the Aqua Aerobics in particular. We did a couple of day-trips and these were well organised and good value. The family of colobus monkeys on-site were a source of entertainment and delight for adults and children alike.…
I loved my stay. The staff are kind, the location is gorgeous, and the beach is dreamy. The tide goes in and out, but there are many pools to explore and the inclusive option gave great drinks and I always found a meal to enjoy. Highly recommend.
