Summary- • Zanzibar is a fantastic vacation destination and epitomizes quintessential idyllic island living, and the Jambiani White Sands Bungalows was a fantastic hotel, and I have fantastic memories of staying there. • It was a privilege to stay for a few days, and I look forward to a much longer stay next time I visit Zanzibar. I could easily spend a month here. Or two. Hotel- • It is a hotel which combined luxury-living, whilst allowing you to relax- wandering directly barefoot from the hotel onto the beach. • It’s a short drive from Stone Town, which separates it from the busy tourist areas and so has a relaxed ambiance, and allows you to separate from the stresses of day-to-day life. • The hotel has a warm family feel and isn’t just a commercial entity, it feels like it’s owned and run by a group of lovely, very polite and helpful people who care for their guests, and welcome them with open arms. • In short, I’d like to give this property 10/10, and I have nothing but positive reviews of the hotel facilities and the service I received from the hotel and the exceptional service delivery team. Hotel Staff- • The staff were all exceptional, ensuring that all my needs were met with great conversation, insights on the local area and big smiles- a real asset to the hotel. Beach, activities and local area- • The hotel has a luxurious setting, overlooking an idyllic beach, which was very quiet, and very beautiful. • My room, as you can see from the photos had a splendid balcony overlooking the sea. This was certainly a tranquil spot to sit and watch the sunset over the beach in the evening- a truly beautiful view. • There were quite a few other restaurants and bars a stone’s throw away from the hotel, and a short walk down the beach. Hotel Rooms- • The room was large, well-equipped and very comfortable, centered by a splendid four-poster bed, covered in rose petals each day. • Despite there being very few mosquitoes, and I believe hasn’t been an incidence of malaria for five years or so, I particularly appreciated the mosquito net as assurance that the mosquitoes wouldn’t bother me whilst asleep. • The bathrooms were very modern and clean with high-pressure showers in place to blast off the sand after a long day at the beach. The Restaurant- • The restaurant provided a delicious breakfast every morning with a full array of fruit, mango juices, omelet and other warm breakfast foods made-to-order, accompanied by a sea breeze and beautiful ocean views. • The restaurant management and table service team were fantastic, and having such a great team there definitely helped set the day off in a positive fashion.

We had a wonderful holiday in Jambiani and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel from arriving at White Sands Beach Bungalows we were immediately made to feel welcome and every single member of staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. Thank you all the staff for looking after so well and making us feel at home. We need to give a special thanks to the house keeping staff. Everyday we brought more sand into our room - in fact, I think more sand than there was on the beach ended up in our room!! Everyday the house keepers did an amazing job of cleaning it up. We were in a new bedroom - which had UK plug sockets and even a USB socket! The kingsize bed was comfortable and was huge - with a mosquito net over. There was wifi, a fan and air conditioning in our room. It had a balcony with a wonderful view over the white sands / ever changing colours of the warm sea. Jambiana beach Bungalows is situated in a wonderful location. On white sand and an ever changing tide! At low tide walk out to the most amazing sea I have ever seen. At high tide the sea is easy to reach! Amazing!! Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit juice, fresh fruit eg papaya/ Water Melon/ Pineapple and eggs cooked to your choice, also a pancake or something similiar which changed daily, plus toast as well as tea and coffee. It was very filling. We ate a few meals here which were delicious and we were not charged extra for paying by card! We did not want to leave and have made memories which will last a lifetime. Make sure you pack high sun tan cream. I usually use a low factor but I never went below a 30 and still got an amazing tan!!

We had booked two deluxe garden rooms for two days at Jambiani White Sands. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who offered us a tamarind drink. The setting is beautiful and the low tide a total experience, super peaceful. When booking the room through booking.com we chose the room based on the amenities it had to offer. However the accommodation left a lot to be desired The manager of the resort, who is very courteous, advised us that our rooms were nearly ready and that only one of the rooms still needed a mosquito net. When we checked in about 15 minutes later, the horror started, we were told that we were the first people to stay in a brand new building which was clearly not ready for guests at all. The list of troubles were endless, - the air conditioning didn’t work and was only fixed on the second day. - there was not hot water at all expect for the very last morning - there was hardly any furniture in the room and zero furniture on the balcony. - there was no TV in the room - the mattresses were still covered in plastic under the bedding. - the room was still dirty with the remain of building work. - it was impossible to relax in the room during the day as they were working on the building. The manager gave us a 10% discount on our total bill, but the rooms lacked far more than the compensation that he offered. Jambiani is beautiful, but there are far better places to spend your money and stay. We chatted to many other holiday goers and people were paying either the same or less than us for accommodation that was far superior.

Had very good stay in Zanzibar with Jambiani White Sands Beach and Bungalow for these four days. This is a bit remote from any tourist places, but once you reach here, you can get silent and relaxed moment in front of the beautiful beach in sea breeze. The owner Ail knows well about this island, who introduced and booked us the best restaurant in Stone Town, arranged breakfast to take away on our excursion, very kind and friendly guy, with full respect to the guests. Thank you, Ali, for your best arrangement during our stay. Just wish if you could serve cold beer or wine there, but no way, maybe not because of license or of religious reason.....

Suitable place for rest and quied hollyday. Nice and clean room, good price. Otherwise, if you want more acivities I should prefere north parth of island. Stuff is very friendly and manager is very very kind, helped us with everything. Maybe only one small rebuke: the breakfast is everyday the same, eggs or omelet...

Response from Jambiani-Whitesand, Owner at Jambiani White Sands Bungalows
Responded Nov 26, 2018
We appreciate the time you have taken to write a review and for your kind comments. We have taken a notice of breakfast with eggs and I will communicate the same with our chefs to provide more varieties with eggs as optional. Many thanks again for staying with us!
