I would like to comment on the excellent service I received form the Hotel Manager, Staff and the Owner Francesca from the Sharazad Boutique Hotel even though I was not staying there. I went to stone town and found this lovely dress in The Wonders Boutique but the ATMs were not working that day and the shop didn't accept Amex. I managed to track down the owner online and the Sharazad hotel which she also owns and they arranged for me to pay securely online with my Amex and had my dress delivered by Taxi to my hotel which was an hour away from the shop. I would like to say a very big thanks to you all as I now can bring my dress back home with me tomorrow

I visited Sharazad with a friend just over a month ago, and am still a little speechless. Zanzibar as a whole is unlike anything I'd ever experienced before... 100% the most beautiful (and swimmable) beaches I've ever visited. The hotel was great. Having just left an all-inclusive, it was nice to have a quainter vibe. There is little to do though, so make sure that's what you're after! It was perfect for the relaxation we were looking for. Granted, we visited during Ramadan. We were told by hotel staff that it gets lively on the beach during other seasons, but can't say so from experience :) The ocean is super warm and calm enough for swimming for most of the day, but morning and evening tides do make it impossible at other points. The two pools on site help with this, as otherwise, not sure what you'd do! They have a complimentary bookshelf as well if you need fresh reading material. Wifi was solid for me--we had an ocean-facing bungalow just in front of the pool. Room itself is no frills, but still chic in it's own way. Of note - no actual door between bathroom and bedroom, so there's visual privacy but not necessarily audial or scental ;) if ya know what I mean lol! Just something to keep in mind if traveling with others...share rooms if you're close, but maybe do separate if you're not. They do have twin bed options (I had to ask but didn't see it listed on the site). The staff were PHENOMENAL, so sweet and friendly. I fell ill one day with tap water poisoning from a prior hotel, and without asking, they made room calls to me to bring me tea and dinner. So grateful for the kindness and friendly nature of all the staff! This is what makes a vacation an "experience." Other than that, I'll let photos speak for themselves. Stunning location! A good and worthwhile few days spent here after a few in Nungwi. I can't wait to return to Sharazad one day.

Thank you so much for your review and very kind words. Hopefully we are going to have you back at Sharazad next year again. The Staff much appreciate the nice comments about them and services. Just a note about the separate Bathroom and twin beds for the travelers which are reading the review. We have 3 rooms with bathroom with a door and 3 bungalow with twins beds option.

Before booking, we only found very few places online that checked all our boxes (small but nice swimming pool next to the beach, clean and child-friendly beach, restaurant with a view of the ocean, large rooms, lots of hammocks and lounge chairs (with shade), etc.), but this one did, and surpassed our expectations. We went in the low season, with a little kid, and had just the best time. It's a quiet place, which was exactly what we wanted, but with all details just near perfection. The room (sea view, bottom floor, in the villa) was spacious and really well decorated. Can't speak of the other rooms, but you can't go wrong with this sea view one. The service was impeccable, and so was the food (breakfast included) at the restaurant. Beach was gorgeous, so was the swimming pool. Place was really clean and well maintained. This place would work well for individuals trying to escape it all, for couples on a romantic get-away, and for families. Maybe not for people looking to party hard, but that's about it: perfect for everybody else.

Very cozy boutique hôtel by the beach, with a charming palm garden by the main swimming pool. Very calm, not for those interested in rock/pop nightlife. Very good restaurant particularly for fish and crustaceans. Excellent breakfast. Various excursions and diving with external centres available.

We had an absolutely amazing time at this stunning property. Such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere! We travelled with our 1 year old who was not accustomed to the heat at all and found a gorgeous, simply designed and well thought through room that was perfectly cool with just the fans running. Think it must have something to do with the high ceilings. There was a stunning wooden cot and ample space for us all to not feel crammed in as you do most often when traveling with children. The pool is cool and has such a great vibe being near to the bar, this really is a spot where you don't need to pack more than your cozie and a wrap. The restaurant had a creative selection on offer, especially loved the watermelon and calamari salad! They also have high chairs available (which in Zanzibar is amazing in itself) All in all we really had a great time and would highly recommend Sharazad!
