Would probably give it a 5 if it had a few more things. Air conditioning, and a minibar. I know sound like a snob. If you stay here a must is the state park tour to see the lizards and lemurs. Takes about 3 hours total, but was super cool. I dont think the hotel does a very good job of explaining why your in Madagascar and what you should be doing. Snorkeling is sub par, but the nature tours aver excellent. You have a private guide that finds everything that is available. Food is very good, and staff is excellent. Very unique spot that supports and is staffed by a local village a few hundred meters away. You feel like you are impacting a very poor community by staying there and you are. Great place to just relax but if you dont see the animal kingdom you should just go somewhere else. No TV, no internet in your room, no air conditioning, but the rest was perfect.

Nosy Komba Lodge is a great choice if you are looking for a place to relax, snorkel (turtles!), dive and hike. The beach bungalows are charming and clean - you'll wake up to the sound of the waves and enjoy a stunning sunset in the evening. Thanks to owner Nathalie and her daughter Lea, the place feels like home right away and we shared lots of laughter with them. The staff is very friendly and caring. Cook Henry is a fantastic chef and the food was extremely fresh and delicious.
We loved every minute of our stay and are looking forward to going back there one day.

Beautiful rooms, great food and friendly owners, we would definitely come again. A much nicer place to stay than touristy Nosy Be, with easy access to snorkelling, hiking and day trips to other parts of the area.

I’ve thought long and hard about writing this, but hopefully once I’ve written it I won’t have to think about it anymore. The owner told us the island was completely safe and we could leave our room doors open while we had dinner. We didn’t do that , we closed and locked them and our first night a member of staff let themselves in and stole €400. They were able to do that as there were no safes. The owner did nothing to compensate us. Beautiful location but just stay vigilant

Simply put, this is one of finest places I've ever stayed. The hotel manager, Francesca, and the entire staff make you feel right at home and a part of the Nosy Komba family. The rooms are exquisite, the views are breathtaking, the food and drinks are excellent, and the excursions are a blast! WONDERFUL!!!

Simply amazing. The lodge is beautiful, with beautiful views of the ocean and the sunset. Gorgeously designed rooms, with balconies overlooking the sea. Above all however, was the food! Stunningly delicious food every night (included in the room price), made to an amazing quality - the thazard tartare and tuna steak (line caught that morning whilst whale watching) were absolutely sublime. You can tell owner Michel used to be a chef! Michel was a great host, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful - helping us to arrange spearfishing, diving, night walks up the mountain and taking us whale watching (Michel found a pod of humpback whales, which were incredible to watch!). We also kayaked around the coast, and snorkelled with turtles which feed right outside the lodge every morning.

Only bad thing was having to leave - cannot wait to come back and have another caipirinha on the terrace. Complete paradise and hands down, the best place we have ever stayed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite - the hammock outside was the best place to watch the sunset.

After 2 weeks traveling around Madagascar, we were pretty close to shocked when we arrived at the Nosy Komba Lodge. It's gorgeous, in a gorgeous setting, the rooms are beautiful, the food is wonderful. Everything has been well thought out to provide a great stay which we hated to leave. If I had to come up with something slightly negative, I'd say that this place is very inconsistent with all the other places we visited. Madagascar is an extremely poor country where the people live in small spaces with absolutely no amenities. The rooms at the Lodge bear no relation to the way people live and are a multiple of the size of the people's homes. I guess I could say that staying here is a guilty pleasure.

The most memorable place we’ve ever stayed in. Location service food and accommodation top notch.
It takes some effort to get to Madagascar then to Nosy Be and then a long boat ride to Nosy Komba island but when you finally get there WOW!
The lodge’s association with local farmers fishermen craftsmen and villagers adds to the overall magic!

Nathalie and her delightful staff made our honeymoon to Madagascar. They could not do enough for us, lovely food, cocktails, trips, with beautiful lodges. From the moment we arrived to the moment we were left we were in heaven. Definitely the highlight of our trip. Thank you.
