The only reason for 2 stars is the restaurant. The service and the food was very good. In a hotel the most important thing is the sleeping comfort. At this place this does not exist. The bed is hard as a rock. The walls are thin as paper. If someone takes a breath in the other room you wake up....

My family (myself, wife and 5 year old daughter) had a great time on New Years Eve at the Chicanna Ecovillage and a wonderful visit to the Mayan ruins at Calakmul to celebrate the first day of 2017. I will say that the rooms and food were good but the service from the staff at Ecovillage was excellent. From the...

The resort has various positive qualities: a friendly pool with a useful watchtower for observing birds. Simple but functional rooms. No shampoo in the bathroom though so bring your own, enjoy dirty hair or shave your head. The eco part needs to be developed - there are no nature trails or guides, or books of local fauna. The most negative...

We stayed overnight looking for a restful retreat. The hotel is indeed buried in the jungle. The rooms are in thatched huts. High ceilings. Spacious and simple. The bed is a bit hard but OK. What came as a shock was the dinner. Outrageously expensive for a simple buffet. And everything was cold on opening of the buffet. In the...

My two friends and me stayed at the Chicanna Ecovillage for two nights and loved it. The Resort's staff and provided accommodations were wonderful. The rooms were spacious, the grounds are beautiful, there is a pool, a viewing tower perfect for sunrise and sunsets, a great restaurant and more. The food is not cheap but the quality is top notch....

On our way to Calakmuk ruins and the rainforest we ended up in a nice village just off the main road. Nice cabins, good pool. Restaurant rather disappointing. Nearby town not worth a visit, no supermarket

We loved the room for the three nights that we stayed there. Everything's clean, and the water is hot. Unfortunately, the service personnel was incapable. They couldn't even call us a cab, and generally weren't interested in helping us. The restaurant is overpriced and serves very mediocre food.

It's a beautiful hotel inside the jungle, a few meters next to the highway, but far enough to avoid the noise of the transit which is very low. I just spend one night, so most of the things were good enough. The food took a little bit more time than expected, but it was fine. It's a very good start...

On the long stretch between Palenque and the Caribbean coast we stayed two nights in the Chicanna Ecovillage Resort. The rooms in this resort are big and comfortable, the plumping is somewhat outdated but that did not bother us. The only two places that have WiFi in this resort are the reception and the restaurant. The WiFi is slow and...

We only stayed here for one night and were delighted to be placed in a nice chalet close to the restaurant. It looked idyllic, but somehow it seemed to lack that wow factor. The room was clean and functional with a nice porch to unwind with a couple of beers. However, the food was just about edible without being exciting...
