The Burrowing Owl Estate is a fine experience. The Guest House was spacious and clean, and although it was cold and didn't use the pool etc, that would be a bonus in season. Susan at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The wine ambassador Stephen stayed an hour late to give us a private tasting experience. Since we were tired both evenings after wine tasting all day, the in-house Sonora room was a welcome easy walk. The menu was broad enough that we had plenty of choices to mix it up for two consecutive evenings and Ingela provided us excellent service, including multiple wine samples to help narrow down our choice. The breakfast, although not a very large spread, was tasty and the service friendly. Very pleasant stay. Mark from Cincinnati

My Wife and I and our friends were looking forward to a nice dinner at the restaurant as always on Saturday night. Our waiter Jordan did the best he could under the circumstances as he appeared to be the only waiter that night as he Seemed to be serving all the tables with very limited assistance. ( having said that it wasn’t very busy) Three of us ordered strip sirloin steak to our surprise we each received two tiny pieces that were extremely tough to eat. These pieces were accompanied with two pieces of broccoli and some grilled onions all of this for almost $43 a plate. when we mentioned it to the waiter that the meat was extremely tough he replied by telling us that the chef had already gone home and there was not much he could actually do but as a courtesy he would deduct the one salad from the bill😡 What a disappointment what’s happened to this restaurant??? In Addition we were not too impressed with the Limited selection on the menu !!!

My husband and I decided to give the restaurant a second chance, as we were disappointed 5 years ago. Unfortunately it did not result favourably. For a starter, I ordered the green salad with peaches. It was overdressed and resulting in wilted greens and the peaches were over ripe. My husband ordered the foie gras, which he said was tasty. We both had wine pairings which were great. For our main course, we both had the strip loin steak which came with one stem of wilted brocollini, two pieces of mushrooms and a few slices of onions, once again, swimming in a sauce. The plate was very hot and the food was cold. Also, for a main course costing $48 dollars, there were five tiny presliced pieces of steak. The wine pairing was very good. We were so disappointed at this point that we opted for a cup of decaf and no dessert. We definitely will not return for food in the future, but we will continue to buy the wine. It was a very expensive lesson learned.

From the first moment we arrived, we loved it. Susan at the front desk could not have been more welcoming. She personally escorted us to our room and showed us the amenities. We had a gorgeous view and a spacious and well-appointed room. Bes comfort is my number one consideration BOV guest house did not disappoint. We had dinner that evening on property. The food was above average with excellent service. The breakfast chef is amazing...but you'd better get there by 8:15 for a good selection. It is quiet...no loud music at night...not that many guests makes it so nice and relaxing. The tasting room...I think the person who served us is a bit burned out. I love BOV wines so was already familiar with them but didn't tell her. A beautiful place but expensive...$369 per night.
