It's true that Plas Llanmihangel is a wonderful place to stay, but sad that it is now closed. I learned this from Sue when enquiring about availability recently. I understand that it is for personal health reasons; we wish Sue and David all the very best.

Just celebrated my 40th birthday here with friends. The whole eveing was perfect, Sue and David were welcoming and accomodating, the meal was gorgeous and everyone loved the quirky setting. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a slightly different way to celebrate.

We had a family gathering in Plas Llanmihangel of 3 generations with 5 couples and 5 young children 12-14 September 2014. We had heard how good Plas Llanmihangel would be but our stay far exceeded all expectations of young and old. The manor house, living history lovingly restored, is both genuinely historic and yet comfortable. The hosts Sue and David... More

This place is simply wonderful and quite unique. If you want to experience the joy of Sue and David in their restoration project which has taken them so many decades, then stay here and enjoy a place like no other! Parts of the house date back to the 13thC although most is Tudor. A lovely, tranquil place, deep in the... More

Found this B&B on the internet and thought it looked interesting. It is fantastic! Owners Sue and David have painstakingly restored this old manor home and they run it with love and expertise. Sue is a sweetheart who goes far beyond what is expected to ensure that her guests are happy. The home is a treasure that is every bit... More

Quaint, characterful, special. Staying here is like stepping back in time. The extraordinary building dates back in parts to the 1300s and has been lovingly restored by its owners. Look out for the booklet which chronicles the history of the house and its renovation. if you only like perfect corporate hotels then avoid this place. If you're looking for somewhere... More

Went there for a private party of 20 people, some of whom were staying at the Plas. The evening meal was wonderful, asparagus soup, lamb dinner and fresh vegetables and fresh fruit salad, sorbet and ice cream for dessert followed by a cheese board. The food was all locally sourced and all home made and tasted delicious. The owners made us all... More

Visited Plas Llanmihangel last weekend as part of a large group. Arriving at night made it somehow more magical, as every door lead you down another passage/staircase and it became a bit of a game as to whether you should put the light on and investigate!! The rooms are all different, many with four poster beds. Clearly the decor isn't... More

I've just returned from my second visit to this magical place. As noted below, if you're looking for a sterile, Holiday Inn-like environment, then this home is not a place where you'll find happiness. The sheets aren't matching the rest of the room décor, the bathroom maybe down a few steps (I was in the "turret" room" and watch your... More

If you are someone who likes to nit pick over lack of Wi-Fi or uneven stairs, then perhaps a soulless place like a Holiday Inn would be more to your liking. Or, you can have the privilege of staying at Plas Llanmihangel and all that it offers: a wonderful house steeped in history, warm and attentive hosts, and a sanctuary... More
