Spent two nights in this excellent B&B whilst walking the East Highland Way (Fort William to Aviemore) end June / early July. I could not have asked for more in terms of amenities, room comfort and breakfast. The breakfast offered a choice from porridge, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit salad, full cooked breakfast in a spacious, light upstairs breakfast room. The... More

After travelling through the Outer Hebrides our last port of call was Riverside Lodge where we spent two nights. Our host Colin was extremely helpful and friendly and made a reservation of our choice in a local restaurant for dinner. The B & B is tastefully furnished and feels like a real home, 10/10 for the shower 10/10 for the breakfast. For our... Colin was very welcoming and served us with a lovely afternoon tea which we had in the front garden. He then phoned and reserved his recommended place to eat for us. Our room was lovely but could hear all footsteps from upstairs. Otherwise we had everything needed for a pleasant stay and were comfortable. Breakfast is at a fixed time... More

The Riverside is a simple B&B, and there are quite a few rooms, so things can be a bit noisy. The surroundings are nice, and breakfast was again basic. What irked us a bit was that for one sandwich, a pear and a small bar of chocolate plus a small bottle of water we were charged £5. This made the... More

In the best possible sense, staying at Riverside Lodge Gardens is like staying at your grandparents' house. Our stay was very comfortable, and we enjoyed talking to Colin as he brought out a delicious full Scottish breakfast every day. Definitely recommended.

This is a comfortable B&B set on nicely kept grounds. Our room was a little small, and I could hear people walking around over us at night. The owner was very helpful and explained things like how the shower worked. The house is an easy walk to the downtown area. Breakfast was very good.

We booked 3 nights here based on on-line recommendations. Colin greeted us after we had turned off the highway into this lovely side street and found the charming property. Colin is charming in every way as he tries to assist every one with dinner books (needed locally in the high season) and places visit the next day. Our room was... More

Excellent stay all round. In addition the owner, Colin, is the perfect host helping with reservations for an evening meal at local restaurants, and preparing a wonderful breakfast in the morning. I unfortunately left my computer tablet in the room and Colin was helpful and reliable during the lengthy process of returning the tablet to me in the US. Definitely... More

We stayed there just for one night, but found the facilities and the service excellent. The owner was courteous and friendly without being overbearing. He was very helpful and generous, by even booking a place in a local restaurant for when we arrived. The breakfast was perfect for what we needed. We had smoked salmon in scrambled egg, alongside a... More
