Numerous over the top house rules and a dour host made for a rather unpleasant stay. Had the feeling by staying there was a hassle to the proprietor. Breakfast also of poor quality and cramped up sat next to strangers when other free tables available. Ridiculously small margin of time available for guests to eat breakfast. Not having an ensuite...

I've seen the previous reviews and the common reference to "rules and regulations". Well from my point of view Neil has it about right. When you stay in someone's home, and this is his home, you expect to respect it. Neil politely mentions a few things up front to help your stay run smoothly. He is NOT Basil Fawlty, he...

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Achnabobane. We had my mum, 2 kids and my dog with us and we were all made to feel very welcome. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. Neil keeps a beautiful, clean home and has a few simple rules to follow so that his home stays beautiful! Shoes off...

The location is great, my room view was stunning. The owner Neil was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Downsides, plastic sink in room made a terrible din when I got a drink in the middle of the night. And the single bed was terribly squeaky I really did worry I would wake...

The wife and I stayed here easter weekend, the place was clean. Shared bathroom which the wife wasn't overly pleased about. The breakfast filled a hole and set us up for the day. I wouldn't knock the place to much as Neil the owner seems like he tries hard to please and to be fair was welcoming. The breakfast timings...

Great stay at Achnabobane Farmhouse, Neil was very helpful/welcoming. Extremely clean and tidy rooms which were a good size. Stayed in the family room(s), bathroom was good and clean and there was no noise from guests upstairs or through walls. Great breakfast and the view from the family room and dining area is great. Internet was perfectly acceptable for emails...

Stopped over here for one night after a mini tour round Scotland. We were on our way back from the ferry at Sky and were late (8.30pm) arriving but had arranged this with Neil beforehand so was all fine - I had been given instructions to find the room. Room was clean and bright and the bed was very comfortable...

2.5/5. It took me a little while to decide between 2 or 3 but given the price its perfectly average. I was wanting a short break to the Fort William area at short notice this seemed perfect. On my booking the description was 'South facing single room, with views to the Nevis mountain range' when I got a room facing...

Let me start this review by mentioning Neil our host. It would be easy to say that we felt like we were intruding on his hospitality and that we initially felt unwelcome but this is unfair. It was explained that he had suffered a sudden bereavement so with this understanding I could empathise with his demeanour which is much like...
