Stopped here with my 16 year old on the last leg of our LEJOG ride. This place is unique because it's genuine hospitality. Don't expect clean lines and modern finishes but do expect homely, family comfort. The setting is stunning, the three course dinner was delicious home cooking and the breakfast wholesome. You don't have much time to experience this... More

Mike and Kai are kind, gentle people to whom genuine hospitality comes naturally. Despite not being in the best of health, Kai went to the trouble of preparing a gluten-free pudding which, after a 66 mile bike ride through wind, hail and icy rain was a welcome treat. The rooms are homely - just like staying at your aunty's -... More

This cosy little Inn which seems to be in the middle of nowhere is in a class of it's own Lovely homage locally sourced food and lovely, lovely hosts. The place is simply unique in its charm and rustic authenticity. This was our second visit and it was just as good an experience as before. If there are new owners... More

If you google "most remote pub in UK" you get The Old Forge, Knoydart. However The Crask Inn is certainly very remote and takes a special effort to visit. It stands alone on the A836 just south of Klibreck (Munro). I was met by the owner Mike, who showed me around and provided me with a very comfortable bunkroom to... More

The pub is fine for a beer and a meal. But the bothy is appalling for accommodation.. uncleaned for months, filthy floors everywhere, one of the two inadequate showers not working. Only the kitchen sink for a wash. Think very hard whether the isolation, and beautiful scenery is what you are looking for.. or do you expect a minimum standard of... More

We stayed here on our second night of Cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End. The beauty of this place is its remoteness, the owners are brilliant hosts and cannot do enough for you. The evening meal was superb and the bar with peat burner was very cosy, perfect for enjoying a well earned local whisky. The rooms are not... More

This perfect inn has one of the best locations. The food is home cooked fresh and delicious and the staff could not be more helpful and attentive. A fabulous experience. The standard of furnishings may be dated and possibly some might say shabby but for me simply added to the charm of the stay. No wifi. Rubbish mobile phone signal.... More

Having called in a few lunchtimes for soup and sandwiches we finally got to have a night at The Crask Inn at the end of November 2015 having learnt that it was possibly going to be sold. It now seems that from 25/3/16 the hotel will operate just Fri, Sat and Sun each week. This is not a "posh" hotel,... More
