This is the third year in a row that I have stayed here - it is still clean and tidy, the breakfast is well cooked and presented. This year as nobody was in the sell-catering bit we used the lounge as we'll. The gardens are immaculate, and it is very good value for money.

Back for first time in 3 years, Still very good room and breakfast. Always amazed by owner who is getting on in years but still does competition walking. Talk to him about it. Sensible price and close to decent eating places. I will keep going there

the stables is quiet, clean and comfortable. the rooms had everything you needed, including the beds being made each day! the breakfast was great and kept us going all day. we had dogs with us (they stayed in a trailer we had) & they were made to feel welcome to.

Picked a busy weekend it would seem. Couldn't get into the big chain named digs so rang the Stables. Elderly couple, in really pretty detached property in a very rural setting. Our room, annexed from the main house, large, warm, adequately equipped and tastefully decorated. Brekkie was ready at our requested time. All the usuals, nicely prepared and tasted great.... More

A group of 11 of us cycled 63 miles from Portadown and had booked rooms in "The Stables" to spend the night before completing the Loughshore Trail the following day. We were hoping for a friendly welcome and a warm and comfortable room. Our hopes were fully realised and the following morning we set off with a well-cooked, hearty breakfast... More

Stayed one night; easy to find (100 yards off A26 very close to motorway junction)); free parking; interesting host (still walking competitively in his late 70s); comfortable bed; excellent breakfast (a bargain at £5); good value room at £30. It met my needs extremely well (visiting my mum in nearby care home). I was not disturbed by traffic noise (see... More

I stay at the stables quite often as I know exactly what I will get. A very clean and comfortable room with lots of nice touches and a good breakfast. The owners are very friendly and although they have downsized from the extra block of rooms to just the house there were no complaints. Very easy to find with some... More

Three of us stayed here whilst competing in the Gun Dog event at The Irish Game Fair in Antrim and so we had two dogs with us. The owners made us all very welcome and even provided sausages and bacon at breakfast for the dogs! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable - the heating had been turned on for... More

I dont know what those other folks are on about, this B&B is one of the best I have stayed in, I work and travel for a living so I know my B&B's...and I found it to be outstanding value for money... the nearby motorway is virtually deserted and I did not hear any noise from there at all.... the... As we approached The Stables, we were impressed by the beautiful (and huge) front yard and beautiful home. When the host arrived (the son of the owners - who were on vacation), he was very nice. He showed us the room which was adequate. The entire place had a very dormitory or "old folks home" kind of feeling about it.... More
