We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at Grimstocks recently. From being welcomed by the Owner to the delicious food, everything was superb. We had two courses and couldn't eat anymore as we were so full! The staff are very courteous and friendly and the setting is beautiful. You could even have coffee in the garden if the weather is good.... More

The Grimstock is not some flashy corporate 'I could be anywhere' place to stay. It has character, the rooms are not particularly up to date but they are fine and comfortable and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. If you prefer a faceless Hilton it is probably not for you but I have been here many times for a... More

The grounds are beautiful, lulling you into a false sense of security.... Once inside you can see how dated the building is. Not in a quaint, full of character manner, more of a cross between an old people's home and a 1980s hotel abroad that hasn't been updated since then. My room was on the ground floor - some blinds/voile... More

The outside of the hotel looks welcoming, the grounds peacful, resteraunt well laid out. BUT the rooms are outdated & are in diar need of a makeover. The room was noisy, from outside noise and there was a constant noise which to describe it was either like flushing the loo & filling up or turning a hair dryer on and... More

This hotel is in a lovely location, very serene and peaceful grounds surrounding the premises. Reception staff were very professional and polite including the staff taking the food order for evening dinner mostly, although some were abrupt and borderline rude which was surprising.I allowed it to pass the first instance, then when it happened again I had to take the person to task,... Was invited to a Christening. I was looking at booking somewhere for a party for myself- but would not go back here, the welcoming was warm and the room and gardens are beautiful but I do not appreciate being spoken to rudely and abruptly from serving staff- some manners and it would have been a lovely day.

Another delightful stay at the Grimstock! Every time I visit the friendly staff (who have been there for years) always go out of their way to make me feel as welcome as possible. The traditional rooms just add to the charm and the facilities are everything you need. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. I'll definitely be back soon!

Staying at Grimstock is like stepping back in time. Furniture, fittings and interior design does not seem to have been updated since the 1980's. While everything in the bedrooms and bathrooms are fully functional it all looks dated. The food for breakfast and evening menu is good although the evening menu, breakfast options and service style are again old fashioned.... More

Stayed for two nights while attending an exhibition at the NEC. I definitely had no complaints but it didn't exactly have the wow factor either. Everything seemed immaculately clean and in decent repair but it is all well out of date and the whole place is like a time warp back 20-30 years. The bedroom was insanely hot when I... More

We booked an executive room. The first room we were shown was dreadful - dark and gloomy with a bathroom from the 70s. There was only one bedside light, and the cloth headboards were stained - ugh! We asked for another room and were finally offered a suite. This was spacious but oh so gloomy - with another 70s bathroom,... More
