The New Bath Hotel and Spa re-opened in late summer 2016 to once again be Derbyshire's premier boutique hotel. The bedrooms are bright and spacious and provide travellers with high levels of comfort and complimentary wifi. The hotel's Brasserie restaurant serves modern food using the best local produce. We have recently opened our new Artistry restaurant which offer a tasting menu. Whether it be a wedding, dining or just simply to sleep here, the New Bath Hotel has it all. We also have a fantastic outside pool which is fed by natural spa water, and is open to residents. Non residents can also use the pool for the day or use the pool on a membership basis. This outside pool is one of a very few within the UK, and should be seen to be appreciated and enjoyed.

Fabulous hotel, in an excellent location. We stopped for a night so that we could visit the Matlock Bath illuminations, which were just a 10 minute walk away. We had a lovely room with a view of the outdoor pool and a balcony. The room was well appointed and we found the view delightful. We thought that the bar-lounge and restaurant were modernised and well presented. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and thought that the buffet was well stocked. It would have been nice if hot breakfast food was available though. Overall, we loved our stay here and would definitely return.

A well maintained hotel. A great outdoor pool to try. Bit disappointing that there is only a continental breakfast a good choice but it wasn’t replenished quick enough Tiny cups so had to keep going back for hot water. Very pleasant staff that were most helpful.

I only used the pool not the hotel or spa. You need to book online but it's simple and straightforward. The lido is really fabulous. I was greeted by a friendly lifeguard. The pool is unheated so cooler than I was used to but at 18 to 19 celcius I could swim for 30 minutes or so and not be too cold. The lanes are organised by speed of swimmer and wide and not crowded at all. I felt a real healthy buzz from my swim and returned the following day to swim again. Wish I could swim there regularly. You do have to wear a swimming hat and pool shoes of some kind on the poolside. This is a natural spring fed pool with no chemicals and following these rules helps sustain this. There are hats and other equipment available on the poolside. The hillside air and surroundings of trees and flowers makes for a lovely environment. Really brilliant. Will definitely return.

I'm sorry to say the new owners appear to be letting down their loyal customers with under-investment and increasingly shabby rooms. Sorry to have to say this! The decorative state was poor, the mattress tired, the heating malfunctioning, the breakfast very un-impressive and the price still quite high. I think they are making a big mistake and despite the high cost of refurbishments which are urgently needed I believe these are necessary for their contines business survival.

Property was tired and in places decoration was wanting. Staff friendly, but on occasions they appeared to be understaffed. Quality of an evening meal was good but expensive when comparing it with other local establishments. Location was excellent for access to the Dales and historic buildings we wanted to visit.

Looking for a night away and landed here, not too far from Macclesfield. Early but an early check in was not for consideration by the young girl at reception. Carpets were dirty and the overall appearance is of a work in progress. It must be very difficult to upkeep such an impressive building. Short walk into Matlock Bath; quirky place with Amusements, sweet shops, ice cream and chippies. If you walk through the park you can climb via a path to a summit where the views are excellent. Anyway, plenty of free parking at the hotel and we checked in. We had a suite and absolutely no complaints. The lounges are scattered around, one with a bar and you couldn't really say any were cosy or well furnished. There just seemed to be a number of different chairs and tables, I don't remember any cushions. The hotel clearly has an issue as not allowed to install lifts or air con apparently. On this occasion it was actually too cold in the lounges as windows had been left open and the weather was turning. Breakfast was very good, Continental was perfectly fine for us. The Lido looked good and we were disappointed not to have brought our swimming gear.

I stayed here on my way to Yorkshire just to try the pool and it was worth it. Spring fed swimming pool, nice and cold, no chlorine. I was told by the lovely pool staff that the water changes every 24hrs due to the spring fed flow…… loved it

Was a lovely hotel our room overlooked outdoors heated swimming pool - staff very friendly and helpful . Continental breakfast was ok but I would have preferred a choice. We didn’t use the spa as it was closed for maintenance.

We went for Sunday lunch, booked for 1300 as present for our 60th wedding anniversary. .when we arrived we were the only ones in the restaurant. The starter was ok but the main course was awful, when we were asked if everything was alwrite we said no ,the roast potatoes were very hard as was all the vegetables, the beef on my plate looked like raw bacon. They said they would mention it to the chef. All in all it was a very disappointing Sunday lunch, we won't be going there again

Sadly we had to leave after only one night, which was not planned. However, the reception staff were extremely helpful and understanding. Only real complaints are the size of the allocated room, which was advertised as a deluxe single, but was really quite small. Decor in the room and around the public areas could do with some refresh.
