The overall room was great, aswell as the Main Building. However the accomodation building which my room was located in could use a refurbishment or to be more maintained. The quality of the room felt seperate compared to the rest of the building. Overall great stay, good service, would recommend.
Try and book an evening meal asap as the restaurant was full when we arrived so had to go out for a meal. Centre of Matlock Bath is a short walk and plenty of places to eat, Shame they did not offer a cooked breakfast, but again plenty of options in Matlock Bath or Matlock
Very sad to be writing this. Firstly, I didn't receive any confirmation of my booking. I paid in full for my daughter & her friend. I wasn't asked their names, just what time they would like their treatment. I was told they would receive a glass of prosecco on arrival & be given a tour of facilities, neither occurred. They had to ask for the prosecco also where the ladies rest room was! My daughter & friend arrived early to make the most of what was - on our last visit - an outstanding hotel. My daughters latte glass was dirty. They were given wooden stirrers, you would expect spoons! No choice of milk ( as it was a machine) no sweetener option. When it was time to go through to the spa ( still not given a tour) they noted that the spa was looking very tired, doors were dirty with hand prints, windows were in need of a good clean. It was noted that some towels were ruffled in the lounge areas then refolded & put for future use. Whilst my daughter & friend were on the loungers 'trying' to relax, staff were hoovering the treatment rooms & generally making noise. Staff did ask at the end of their shift if anything was required before they left. THE ONLY POSITIVE COMMENT FOR THIS BOOKING WAS THE MASSAGE WAS AMAZING.…
Went with a Group of 20 odd women, booked weeks in advance. Asked for table plans and these were supplied in advance. 4 tables of 6. Went in to a boardroom style. Took ages to deliver one over cooked dry scone per person, with expensive individual jams but not enough cream, teas / coffees arrived after scones, had to ask for spoons, milk, and sugar . Toilets upstairs and was told no down stairs disabled loo. If this is an indication of the care and attention they give to guest then avoid at all costs. This was a scouting expedition for a number of different groups wanting places to visit and have lunch. They disappointed everyone, didn't seem to care , and wont we getting any recommendations.
Huge comfortable bed, clean rooms, great looking outdoor pool, friendly staff. We had a peaceful week at a good price. The location is perfect for walks. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel. Continental breakfast did the job.
My stay at The New Bath Hotel & Spa was exactly what I was looking for, compared to other hotels in the area (and in general) it was a really reasonable price and provided simple, clean facilities and great service from the staff! I stayed for three nights in one of the rooms over-looking the spring-fed pool (which is free to use for hotel guests) and really appreciated being able to open my balcony door In the mornings! The room was a little cold, but there was a heater provided which solved the problem, and the only other thing I could say is that I found the pillows a little bit hard, but that kind of thing is really just preference! One of the days I stayed it rained and I asked on the off-chance if there was any availability in the spa and, although I wasn’t able to have a treatment, happily I did get to use the facilities (steam room, sauna and hot tub) which were lovely! I only ate at the hotel one evening so I can’t speak for breakfast, but the restaurant was nice and quiet, and the white chocolate and rhubarb tart with raspberry sorbet that I had for dessert was amazing! The lady doing housekeeping checked in with me each morning to see if I needed anything, the staff in the restaurant were absolutely lovely, and checking in/out and making enquiries at reception was always easy! Everyone really gave me the impression that they were happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. This was my first holiday on my own and I couldn’t have felt more comfortable, thank you everyone! …
We were travelling from London and were looking forward to a relaxing time with my child being at my parents. My mum took ill and the hotel were happy to adjust our accommodation to make room for my daughter at almost no notice. The concierge carried our bags to the room, and were welcomed to a bottle of wine on ice. The room was lovely and spacious. Great view from the window. Breakfast was continental with a wide selection including fresh pastries, muffins and cereals. They took time to look after us and made us feel special when we really needed it. Many thanks to Dianne and her team.
What a fab hotel, the naturally heated fresh water pool was wonderful. We only stayed one night, but swam twice! The view from the room balcony was amazing. Rooms were nice, prices very competitive. Pool could be marketed better as its a real gem. We are planning to come again
The main thing I appreciated about the hotel was that it had character - it wasn't one of these slick, soul-less, corporate places that is staffed by people who've learned their script. NBH is more authentic, staffed by genuinely friendly and helpful people who are proud to show off their hotel and the environs. I visited with 2 friends and we loved every bit of it - the beautiful outdoor, thermally-heated pool where you can sit in the sun after a swim, enjoying the birds singing in the trees; the wonderful treatments, jacuzzi, and sauna; the delicious really good quality evening meal; the comfortable room with balcony overlooking the pool, as well as every interaction with the staff. Strongly recommend.
We stayed here - three friends. It was excellent value. The spa staff were amazing. We had a treatment together, and they brought in a mattress from home so we could all be in the same room. The outdoor pool is incredible. The evening meal was very tasty, very good for vegetarians, and service was excellent.
