Beautiful 32nd Wedding Anniversary holiday in a beautiful location. The guest house was superb and the food sublime. Honestly, try the porridge for breakfast!! Gertie and Pat were superb hosts and the accommodation first class. The room was huge and really beautiful plus we had access to the garden and a private sitting room - although Pat and Gertie joined... More

Our family enjoyed a wonderful trip to Ireland and we stayed at lovely B&Bs and guesthouses but Kilcannon House was the best of all. Pat and Gertie have a gracious home and a warm welcome for all. Gertie's breakfasts and afternoon/evening teas with homemade desserts are to die for. Pat's knowledge of Irish history, the region and Irish music kept... More

My mother and I went on a trip around Ireland and this was one of the best places we stayed in. Gertie and Pat were the nicest people and had fantastic suggestions of places to go and the history of the area. Gertie is a great chef and the breakfast was to die for. I am coeliac and this was... We are just back from celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary in Dungarvan - we stayed at the private cottage onsite at Kilcannon House. It's built in a converted stone stable and is very charming and comfortable. Best of all, our dog was welcomed as part of the family and had a great time exploring the secure courtyard area with... This was our second stay in Kilcannon house and was just as wonderful as the first. We went down with my husband's parents and stayed in the east wing, in two very large rooms with really comfortable beds - in fact we slept much later than expected. We books dinner on the night we arrived and were a couple of... More

We have been staying with Gertie and Pat for a number of years now and always feel like we are coming home to old friends. Gertie's breakfasts are second to none, and a real treat when you have had a long day travelling the day before. Her vanilla pannacotta with toffee sauce and bananas is the most delicious I have... Myself and my husband (& our small dog) went back to stay in Kilcannon House for the 4th time. We were visiting our youngest child who is staying in the nearby Gaeltacht - Ring. It was so lovely to go back and stay in Kilcannon House again. Gertie and Pat always make us feel so welcome. We booked an evening... More

Chose this bed and breakfast as a stopover for a group of three night at the opera at Lismore Castle. Wasnt necessarily expecting much more than a comfortable bed and not sure how the others would react. The outside of the house is not particularly enticing; that is misleading though. But wow this is a fantastic place to stay. The... More

I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough. A beautiful old house in tranquil surroundings, surrounded by nature but near to the town as well - and the seaside. Lovely comfortable bedrooms, with stand-out breakfasts - there are not many places where you will get whisky and cream with your porridge! And you will not find more welcoming hosts than Pat... We had a wonderful night with Gertie and Pat at their beautiful bed and breakfast in Dungarvan. It is in a beautiful rural setting with lovely gardens, stables and yard. The house itself is redolent with character and filled with gorgeous old pieces and family photos. The bedrooms are lovely- beautiful linens and tasteful decoration. Comfortable beds and every amenity.... More
