In many ways everything is great at this hotel, it's clean, staff are friendly. But tje hotel seems helplessl outdated and there is no getting around that. Also teh breakfast could hold more variety and not only the basics. The coffe is horrible at breakfast.

This is a superbly situated small 3 star hotel, especially if you are just stopping off for a night's rest on your way from Rome further north, as we were this summer. We found the hotel on Trip Advisor but did not expect how awe-inspiring its position was right on the mediaeval town's walls and commanding the most superb views...

We stayed two nights in mid-October as a part of a walking tour of Tuscany. The hotel location is terrific, easy walk to all the restaurants, wine and shopping. The staff was excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable. The views from the hotel were gorgeous. Even the bathrooms have a great view! They served a very good breakfast including excellent American...

We stayed two nights here. Loved its location just below the town so you don't have to drive inside. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants, gorgeous views from the rooms. Nice pool. The people who run it are nice. We saw few other patrons. Good breakfast. Our only complaint was the road downhill to their parking. They...

This was our 3rd or 4th stay at Hotel Vecchia Oliviera. It is a very small hotel-which we prefer. It is a perfect location to do all the wine exploring in the Brunello region of Montalcino and beyond in Tuscany. Perched high atop the hill-it has sweeping views-but is just below the town so easy to park in their free...

The Vecchia Oliviera is positioned on the edge of town - and since Montalcino is around 500m above the surrounding countryside, the views from the 2 windows in our room had uninterrupted views across some wonderful Tuscan landscape..... even from the bath/shower. The room itself is very comfortable, with enough space to accommodate the moderate luggage of a couple travelling...

We were exhausted from the day that started at a vineyard in Montalpulciano followed by a stop in Pienza for lunch at the Terrace of the Cloisters (HIGHLY recommended by us) then the short trip across the valley to Montalcino to find some Brunello to ship home. Classic walled, hill-top town with great shops and parking at strategic points around...

We spent a night here. It is perched near the edge of a small town with great views. It is a charming hotel with friendly helpful staff and a nice breakfast. The room was really comfortable and had a jacuzzi with views over the Tuscan hills. It was a great place to stay.

The Vecchia is conveniently located in Montalcino with private overnight parking. The views are beautiful looking out into the valley. Our bed was a bit uncomfortable so I had a rough nights sleep. The service was great and everyone was very flexibility around things with our visit.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel as part of our hike through Tuscany with Girosole tours. The walk into Montalcino is a tough one up what seems like a never ending very steep hill. We finally passed through the portal and then realised we had to walk to the other end of town to reach our hotel! But when...
