The beauty of the place is completely spoiled by the poor quality of service and the rudeness of the owners (they litterally ripped me off). Food is merely edible and far below lake of Como's standards... breakfast was pitiful! Despite the price rooms have no tv and there is no internet connection. Keep away!!!!

Please don’t be fooled by the old world charm of this hotel. We were fooled, big time. We got married here and can speak for us and the 70+ guests of ours who spent the night at the hotel. We can tell you this: - Rooms in the dependence are dark, damp and stink a bit - Rooms with a... More

We wanted a place away from the crowds, and the San Giorgio was perfect. With a top-level lakeview room, we felt like we were staying in our own private lakefront villa. The views are incredible, the ambiance relaxed and hushed, and the decor charming and romantic. Even the old creaky floors add to the experience. The ferry boards just a... More

The San Giorgio is a gem on Lake Como. The hotel has been in the family since it was built. Owners Vernonica and brother Andreas welcome you and make you feel as if you are home and are very helpful in planning activities in the area.. And if you are fortunate enough you might also run into their mother and... More

The San Giorgio Hotel is a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. Our room looked over the lake with a balcony. The rooms are adequately furnished but don't expect TV's! There is only one and that is downstairs in the library. The buffet breakfast is very good with plenty to eat and lovely coffee. You can eat in the dining... More

After fighting our way through the narrow roads along the lake, jammed with buses and heavy trucks, the hotel was a sanctuary. Set back from the road among a lush garden, the small door way in the back of the hotel to the reception is like stepping through the looking glass. Inside are large rooms with high ceilings, a piano... More

We spent a week at the San Giorgio in May, 2009 and loved it. The hotel was built in the 20's and has been in the same family ever since. One great advantage that the hotel has is that it is on the lake side of a rather busy road that tranverses the west side of lake como. Other hotels... More

The place looks like a dream in the photos and promises to be a wonderful vacation. But dreams are not reality and promises are not always kept. The place over run with ants and spiders. Internet is available for 8 euro per hour and only in the lobby. The rooms have no air conditioning nor any fans to move the... More

We married in August 2008 at Villa del Balbianello and some of our guests stayed at San Giorgio Hotel and absolutely loved it. I have to start with the gardens, which were by far the best part of the hotel! They are simply stunning! If you book make sure you have a room with a view of the lake. You... More

From the minute we stepped into the hotel we were impressed. Our room was very large with private bath. It faced the lake with french doors that lead to a balcony. In the evening we could go down to the bar get a drink and either sit on the porch or balcony looking out at the lake. Large common rooms... More
