Still dreaming of when we can return to this spectacular Lake Como property . It ranks at the top of my list for best hotel ever! My husband and I spent 4 nights here in September 2022. The hotel has old world charm that you could only find in Europe. The lobby, the staircase, the ballroom...every inch of it just jaw droppingly beautiful. Our room was small but so charming. We had wanted to book a room overlooking the lake but there were none available. We will definitely book a lakefront room when we go back. Their signature bath products were so nice and can be purchased at the hotel boutique. Big bonus was that they provide Dyson hairdryers since I had to leave mine back home. Our room had a nice view with windows (auto shades) that overlooked a garden where some weddings took place. The hotel is very romantic and the story is that over a hundred years ago they uncovered a hidden book of secret love letters written by guests and every evening when they would do turn-down service they would leave you a copy of one of these letters along with delicious truffles in a little linen pouch. Just that extra special touch that you can't forget. The housekeeping staff were great. The pool and gardens in the rear of the hotel are spectacular with unbelievably breathtaking views. The T-Pizza is the casual restaurant by the pool and they serve up the best pizza and Aperol Spritz! The floating pool on the lake and beach were so unique and such a fun place to relax with a special cocktail after a day touring Lake Como. The restaurants and bars are all top notch. We ate at La Terrazza, their fine dining restaurant on the patio overlooking the lake...the food and service amazing. This restaurant also had the morning buffet and I have never seen a buffet like this one. Every food your heart could desire and then some all while watching the lake come to life! We also ate at the L'Escale Trattoria and Wine Bar and had the best veal with truffles we've ever eaten. One evening we dined at the beachside restaurant Giacomo a Lago and the fresh seafood was amazing. The ferry is just a few minutes walk down the road and takes you to the many beautiful towns on Lake Como. You're also within walking distance to lots of lovely shops and restaurants in Tremezzo. Overall, the hotel and staff go above and beyond expectations which is what made this stay so unforgettable. Truly a 5 star experience. …
This was truly the most beautiful hotel we have ever visited. The public spaces are pretty spectacular, both indoors and out. The views of the lake are gorgeous, and all of the restaurants were excellent. It was hard to believe that so much was offered in this gracious space for a fairly small number of guests. The service was incredible - if you asked for directions, the staff person didn't just point you in the right direction, he or she took you there. No detail is left untouched, from the fresh flowers, especially roses, everywhere to the big jars of candy in the lobby. The spa space was lovely and the service terrific. My only quibble, and this is minor, is that we found it difficult to lock and unlock our door with the key.
This hotel is everything you imagine it could be. Everything from the facility to the location to the people working there epitomizes “grand hotel.” The food and drinks round out the experience to make it an amazing stay. Could not recommend more strongly.
First the good. Grand Tremezzo is beautiful timeless Italian beauty on Lake Como. The views are spectacular and the service 5 star. We used the concierge services to arrange a private boat tour of Lake Como with a guide which was one of the highlights of our trip. We were a group of 6 that stayed for 3 nights at the end of September. We had one of the best dinners in their fine dining restaurant of our whole 2 week trip. Honestly, everything from breakfast to pizza to drinks on the lanai at night watching the twinkling lights of Bellagio was unbelievably perfect. And then… One the day we checked out we packed up all our luggage and called for the bellman to come and pick up our bags. I went down to breakfast to get a table and my husband waited for the bellman. He told the bellman (2 men) not to take 2 bags both were our personal belongings that we carry with us while traveling. My husband locked the room and put the do not disturb on the door. We did not want the cleaning people in the room with our 2 bags sitting on the bed. We had breakfast I went to the gift shop and my husband went to the room and picked up both bags and we met in the lobby. All 6 of us had a private van taking us to St. Moritz so we met the driver and the bellhops put all our luggage in the van. When we got to St. Moritz we unpacked and I was getting ready for dinner and noticed in my personal bag the inside pocket zipper where I keep my velvet pouch with my jewelry was unzipped and my eye glasses had fallen out but my jewelry bag was GONE! I immediately told my husband and we looked everywhere and I am methodical about where I put my jewelry and know it was there. Plus the zipper was open? While I was panicking my husband noticed that in his personal bag the zipper where he keeps passports and money from different countries was open and our passports had fallen out. The pocket is very deep and the money was still in the pocket. Pretty obvious someone had gone through our stuff. We immediately called the Grand Tremezzo and they were not helpful. They manager said “ they have never had that happen”. Well, guess what - it did! It was very planned- bellhops knew we were leaving and they knew we left two important bags in the room while we were eating breakfast. We called twice to the General Manager and asked for them to review their cameras. They said they did not have cameras. We asked for them to do anything and they did nothing. So WARNING- you are on your own but know their is a ring of thieves that are watching you. Just for comparison- we called our transportation company just in case - but how does a inside pocket get unzipped and the insides of the bag get tossed around while 6 adults are watching a driver?? But we called and they could not have been nicer. They showed us a video ( within an hour of us leaving the van) with the driver looking everywhere in the van. He found a eye contact! Ha! The driver called us the next day saying he cleaned the van again and did not find anything. The Grand Tremezzo did nothing and refused to help us. So WARNING- you will be staying among thieves and no one will help you.…
We had just come from the other side of the lake where we didn't feel so welcome, even though we spoke Italian. We came here as visitors to experience the country, culture and people. As we stepped onto the grounds of the hotel, we were instantly greeted with smiles. It was a completely different atmosphere and it really made me happy to be in Italy again. Nicolas took our bags for us and showed us the way to the front desk. As we approached the elevator, 2 gentlemen came out and greeted the both of us with genuine smiles. At the front desk, we were greeted by Willie who checked us in and arranged for bags to be transferred when the rooms were ready since we came in over 3 hours early. However, he was able to show us around the grounds in the meantime. We were able to take advantage of the spa and the infinity pool. The staff were all exceptional and made our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. This was definitely the best experience ever. Highly Recommend.…
We chose this beautiful hotel to stay in to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and my birthday. We arrived by bus and were met by the team downstairs who could see us heading towards the hotel and came to meet us. We were put in the lift and arrived at reception to a wonderful welcome. We had a guided tour and arrived at our stunning lake view room. The room was spacious and bathroom one of the best we have ever had with Aqua Como products including bath salts. We even had a Dyson hairdryer. The hotel had many rooms all serving different purposes from a relaxing lounge, foyer and drinks area, the amazing restaurant and downstairs trattoria, spa area (with one of the 3 pools), in the garden was the pizza restaurant, tennis courts, conservatory and gardens. The lido outside the front of the hotel (across a main road) was just so breathtaking too! We enjoyed a Michelin meal on the first night. Wow! We enjoyed the Trattoria on our last night. Wow! We enjoyed an afternoon in the spa. Bliss! Our favourite treat was breakfast each morning which spoilt us rotten. I have to mention the lovely housekeeping team too, who kept our room spick and span throughout our stay. Our only criticism was no kettle in the room and all drinks including a cup of tea was expensive. We also thought the boat shuttles were extremely expensive and opted for the ferry a hundred yards down the road. Overall we had the most wonderful time and would love to return one day. Thank you.…
Our three days here in the October shoulder season was exceptional in every way. One of the best experiences of our lives - all 8 couples! Staff was beyond exceptional and facilities were “wow”. I hope to return.
This is hands down one of the nicest, well appointed, highly professional hotels out there. This will exceed every expectation a guest would expect from a 5 Star hotel. The decor, the food, the ambiance is exceptional. Every staff member was knowledgeable and pleasant from the moment we arrived until the moment we departed. I cant say enough and cannot recommend this hotel enough. 10 Stars!!
Stayed here in June for 2 nights. It was exceptional, beautiful location and the service was second to none. It was like stepping back into a different time but still had all the modern comforts. Really special. The food/drinks were very expensive €15 euros for a coffee so brace yourself.
After staying 2 nights on the other side of Lake Como, we boated across with all of our luggage to arrive at Grand Hotel Tremezzo. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the staff who assisted with our bags. This is a much preferable location...plenty of sunshine, walking distance to Villa Carlotta and a two minute walk to the ferry that takes you to Bellagio and Varenna. The colorful hotel has a fun vibe.. 2 outdoor pools, a beautiful cocktail lounge with live music, and a lake terrace for dining. It was my husband's birthday and a surprise gift was left on the bed. The rooms were lovely with a big bathroom. A fun way to spend 2 days/nights with friends for a celebrations!
